50% damage reduction sounds appropriate, or have them randomly target ANY component. They need to be less insanely OP.

This patch was a BIG mistake. Streaks are very, very bad for the game right now. I've been getting top damage top kills in my streak A1 for 3 games running and it takes no skill and is no fun to use.

Please, this is hotfix worthy IMO but at least in the next patch you need to nerf these out of existence!

The A1 is the only mech where streaks are a massive issue - thats what needs to be addressed - not the streaks themselves

I just don't like weapons that lock on and take no skill. They should be inherently worse than any weapon that requires skill.

Breaking News: Moderately-to-highly skilled player scores high kill counts and damage numbers against random PUGs with little or no effort expended.

Film at 11.

the only repatched the missing part.. nothing else.. streaks still spread out a bit but dont miss anymore.

gosh learn finaly to play vs a 270m range weapon.. thats so hard i can even avoid it with my medium mechs.

every1 can use it.. leave it or take it... make PGI fix the code.

They are fine dude. Youre not getting top damage, thats for sure.. You may be getting kills, but your kills are all lights and soft mediums.

My vote is for mods to remove your post actually...Its not constructive.

That's not the only time they'll be an issue. An A1 just has 6 missile hardpoints, but what if your whole team took their brawlers and put two or three streaks on each? Two COM-2D's = one A1, in terms of streak firepower. They are also faster and harder to hit and can more safely apply that damage with hit and run tactics or something like that. What you're really saying is, streaks in larger quantities are the problem, which is kind of true for anything.

The main problem here now is that they have 100% hit rate without cover and their damage went up (technically, it didn't actually go up but a fix was made that puts it to where it was supposed to be.) If they're going to hit 100%, their damage probably could use a little tweak, but I've yet to really feel their pain so I'll have to play some more to have a better opinion on their OP or non-OP ness.

Tbh this only shows that heat dissipation should be a lot higher, so that wasting your hardpoints on low damage weapons would be a no-go.
Their only upside is that they actually hit. That should never outweight more range, higher alpha or dps.

I thought streaks were fine before the patch, don't know that they needed buffing. I've been using a single pack of ssrm's and felt that it was quite effective. Pretty much 100% core hit with minimal effort. What's not to love.

well... now that you can equip a BAP, shutting down to avoid a streak boat wont save you anymore... so yes they have become OP.

That is... the boating of them has become OP, not the weapon itself. Would be nice if AMS stopped streaks.

People still do that?

Streakboats are awful. 30 damage Alphas are horrible for ammunition-based platforms. The only thing streaks are half decent for is Light-hunting, and only because the current netcode is awful.

I am not a light pilot, I am master of all chassis. Streakpults anihilate mediums, and other heavies as well. It isnt just lights who fear them.
