So Which Is It? Are We Mostly Pug, Or Mostly Pre-Mades Around Here?

It makes me think that what people are seeing is the snow ball effect from their shot gun formations.

From the http://mwomercs.com/game page:
Quote
MechWarrior Online puts MechWarriors into a first-person, team-based, tactical battlefield where the victors swim in the spoils of war and are rewarded with the almighty C-Bill (in-game currency).
Each team has 8 players and the two teams are pitted in combat in an enclosed battlefield. Communication is key, be it in-game chat, integrated C3, or a third party VOIP solution, keeping in constant communication with your teammates will drastically increase your team’s chances of success.
The various weight classes of BattleMechs help create their own evolving roles on the battlefield. Fast moving scouts can feed target and tactical information back to the main battle group and the team commander. This information allows the support and assault role pilots to decide where to put their resources to work. Long-range fire support and heavy hitting assault class Mechs will use this invaluable information to finish the job at hand. It is up to you, the pilot, to customize your BattleMech’s loadout and electronic systems to fulfill the role you want to take.
So... Join a team, use VOIP and get over yourself...

To sum though, I challenge those who do drop in 4mans to try solo dropping for awhile. See how the other side lives. Yes you'll RUN back to TS3 when you're done, sure, but I hope you also see why they complain about it. Being in a 4man doesn't guarantee a win, just like being a lone wolf doesn't guarantee you'll lose. However, a 4man guarantees that team DOES NOT have four new players, and makes it more likely the opposing teams will.
...snip...
I understand the vast majority of 4man groups are just doing it to play with their friends, but I think you also know, if in the back of your mind, you have an unfair advantage.
You realize Garth basically just said EXACTLY what many of us have been saying. The only thing he unfortunately didn't say is that they are going to do something about it, beyond ELO.
It is nice to see he is aware of the problem though. It was also interesting to see the comment about 4man pug stomping and "being watched".

I gotta say here that some of the Founders are the worst possible ambassadors for the game.

Yes, I read. All I stated was it needed to be stickied with a snarky comment afterwards. If you want to discuss the inner workings of what he said I'm game.

I'd love to know how Garth does this with 'virtually' every post. Most of them give no solid details at all beyond 'Got stomped 8 times in a row' or something. So he'd have to have some mondo mind reading skillz to get this information.
The rest of his post accepts the assertion that there ARE some issues but this single sentence sounds like one of his "cored Atlas from behind in 3 seconds" less than well thought out lines.

25% of players doing pre-mades (there's obviously more than that between the Premade only and the mostly premade) is enough to make the other 50% of the players miserable, and you will have another 25% of Puggers who will randomly be on the receiving or the giving side of stomps.
Just by the sake of randomness, some Puggers will experience more stomps, other won't experience as many (when either being on the giving side or facing another all Pug).
What is interesting is how much a 4 man premade can change the dynamic in a match, let alone a sync drop.
If PGI will not implement Pug only queue (and I understand that it's a fear of the Premades to have to -gasp- wait longer for a match), I do not see what rationale they have in not implementing a strict 1 Premade per side (disabling the possibility even of sync drops), and doing so that the matchmaker will always put a premade in front of a pre made and then fill in the blank spots.
That just makes waaay too much sense, and is easily implementable even before the ELO system.

It's just easier. You can jump into games faster, and you are not beholden to compromising with a team. I need breathing room. Might change once Community Warfare gets going later this year, but for now, I am very happy with PUGs.
As for premades...if anything, I think of them as a challenge. I have been curb-stomped by them several times already, but in each instance, there were things I could have done to avoid it but didn't because I was reckless and impatient. So I look at it as a learning experience.

Mmmh, aside from admitting that he knows that premades have an advantage and that they are still working on ELO, I do not see anything new. He doesn't even say they are considering preventing the sync drops, which is the worst thing about this.
No mention of matching premade vs premade systematically either.

Giving details would entail giving data, which would then have more people calling for more statistics, which it sounds(and looks) like they currently don't have the time to devote to it. What he has by asserting that statement are statistics and facts at his disposal. I'll take his word for it.

There are those who want perfection out of the gate and that's not going to happen. He admitted:
"Also, we'll keep adding to it as time goes on and we see what needs to be done/changed/added/etc."

You'll pardon me if I don't. Because Garth has in the past been less than on the level vis a vis game issues.
Still not seeing how he can track whether someone got stomped based on just a forum post that oftentimes mentions no dates, let alone times.

He also states that pretty much everyone that cries about being stomped didn't meet a 4 man premade.

You have the PUGnation crying that they can't win because they keep getting stomped by Pre-Mades. And so PGI needs to bend over to their demands, or they will crash and burn since the vast majority of players, and hence, potential income is from casual PUGs.
Well the problem is BOTH statements cannot be true.
SO WHICH IS IT?
Dude, quite thinking and making so much sense...its NOT authorized!
