Haha nah man, it was a common thing from day 1. Some of the other elite units might be surprised to find out (if they didn't already know) which of their members smurfed for HFH on such a regular basis that they were HFH in everything but name only. Smurfing was against the rules but it was so prevalent that no one really contested it because they were was no way to tell. The fact that MWL skunked teams to the bottom of ladder for insufficient players at match time was rather punitive because teams suffering player shortages was a common thing. Even units with large memberships (like SIN) had shortages sometimes so many of us justified the smurfing that way. I smurfed for SIN tons of times when they were short for guys but clumsily got caught one time when SIN was playing against DS and (I don't know what happened) when I reconnected for the second game, I no longer was using some other SIN member's name, but joined a password-protected match as {HFH}GaussDragon... haha, oops.
Well its been a long time ago so ..... KaoS once smurfed for the entire SiN team(the unit leader was with us)in MWL in a match against a team that was talking a ton of crap to them..We beat them down so bad the unit broke up if i recal. I think it was DA, its been a very long time. You had to be there..was very ammusing.

Hahahahaha, that's hilarious, never knew about that one. I was buds with both SIN and DA but yeah, it's funny how expectations can get a little high. I remember when =UMPA= pulled off a major upset on us on one of the NHUA ladders. When it came time for the rematch, we had a point to make. They weren't mentally prepared for the possibility of a major beatdown coming their way. What should have been another good game thread on the forums was instead a diatribe against HFH for hacking lol.

DaishiKing/Daishi God and a few other 1.0 players (Beowulf, I remember) were some real pros. Magus was pretty good too.

I think I know the video you mean, but it's far too low quality to see what's been said.
I checked the videos again recently and they got ported over to YouTube since Google is winding down the Google Video service. The quality also got a boost. It skips back and forth in quality but sometimes the chat becomes quite clear. As an added bonus, part 3 magically shows up as a related video when you're watching 1 or 2!

DaishiKing was the best Daishi pilot I ever came across. I vaguely remember Praetorian Guard but I don't remember who they were composed of. Beo (the 55th/BDE Beo) is on these forums -> Beo Wulf

We did beat a lot of people back in the day.
Also, since everyone seems to forget that Black Knight was a mech game, I'll nominate the Forgotten (Fallen?) Angels clan, solid group right there, think they shared members with PG. Not sure on that though.

Then this should be impressive. He did beat me on occassion, but I know one of his wins was supposed to be a no legging match. I wised up and used leg armor against him in the future.
and if you remember RW n4sir (one of the names I remembered from Vengeance in the oooold days) I have a screenie of our duel. I was in the smurf BLACK DEATH and he was DMAN, I believe. Most of my pics were deleted over the years, but after a while I began saving them all.

Where we beat PG was when we smurfed as JCM players and they were using aliases themselves. *finishes tooting own horn*

Not to pour water on your fire, but I don't think Daishi King and Daishi God are the same person. Daishi King stopped playing consistently before Mercs came out. I know he played Mercs from time-to-time but he was never really as active after he stopped playing regularly. I think he started playing DAOC 2 instead.
