PGI said there would never be coolant flushes, so this better be good.
You got a "Dev quote" to back that statement up? I do not remember them totally saying no to almost anything, save 3rd person for tech reasons, which they seem to have over-come.

"Upon release players will have access to Mechs. These items will be available for C-Bill and MC purchase. "
right? where has your outrage been for the last 8 months?
an extreamly r3tarded oversimplification.
an better analogy is if R&R were for both MC and Cbills.

I'm just shy of $500 into this game. I'll pay for all sorts of shines, but I'm NOT paying to be competivive every match.
How deep are you Mr. Not Poor?
Why are so many people ASSUMING that it's going this route to begin with? What evidence is there that they are only now going to a P2W mentality when thus far, they've done a pretty good job of avoiding it?
It's one thing to critique their implementation, balance etc of systems IN GAME but now we've got to have more threads lamenting the demise of the game and the playerbase based purely on supposition?
Why don't some of you folk let the **** get put in game first or wait and see what else the Devs publish that's more concrete before rallying up your righteous gdamn'd indignation over some stuff that you don't even know is going to happen.

If its anything like MW4's though.. God no.
This.
A quick flush to dissipate massive amounts of heat in an emergency with long term cooling efficiency taking a hit due to the lack of coolant in the heatsinks.
Also, I ****ing hope they don't plan on releasing MC only modules.

A BattleTech "Davey Crockett" Nuke only does 100 damage(-5 damage per 30m) in a 100m radius. And can be deployed by Artillery!!! That worth 500 MC?

And if it's an MC only thing, then PGI can just go **** themselves.
Oh wait, I meant "go prance in a meadow somewhere else"

The fact that ECM does negate missile locks for streaks means the only way to counter ECM is to overpower in ECM equipment numbers or quickly down an ECM capable mech to gain ECM counter advantage.
And since the X-5 doesn't come with ECM and ECM operates as it currently is, X-5 has nothing really to shine for in a niche role. Your hard capped with 2 missile tubes making it a nuisance to use anything higher then a SRM2 or SSRM2. It is no different then having 1 SRM4.
You want SRMs on a Medium? Go grab a Hunchback 4SP or Centurion A.
You want SRMs and be able to chase that Raven? Grab a 3L or Commando.
Wait what? You dont want to use ECM and still want SRMs? Here is a Jenner D if your so inclined.
The 3M and raven 3L win here hands down.
I'll reiterate for ECM as it currently works, people will cry P2W if any mech or Hero mechs get ECM.
If ECM was changed to be rid of the negation of missle locks for Streaks and LRMs, then everyone would have an even playing field to use streaks to counter these lights. And ECM wouldn't be such a big issue for the X-5 like it is seen in this thread.
Until then, this mech will collect dust. I will feel sorry for those that get hooked on the bait.

Way back in closed beta when everyone was squaking about coolant flushes, Paul said flat out that there would never be coolant flushes.

There is the thread, guess I should have caught the political jargon.

or, it'll be something to spend cbills on once you've mastered all the mechs you like, have all the basic paint colors, and don't want to buy more mc to buy more mech bays to buy more mechs
right now, there's a point many players have reached where cbills are meaningless. i have over 150 million, and nothing to spend it on (well not nothing, i could try to buy a separate set of modules for every mech i own). this gives the game a long term money sink, something all games with an economy ultimately need
I've mastered every mech I like more than a couple that I don't like an have unlocked nearly $100 in pain and camo patterns.
I'll still walk.
Did I mention that I have 44 mechs in 45 bay and had every intention of buy the ****** hero cicada just to have it.

2) it clearly said mc OR c-bills. maybe they will be 100000 or maybe a million either way it wont be unatainable for non paying players. but i would bet they will make it cost at least as much as a winning player earns over several matches. otherwise everyone would be dropping them once a match. my mc estimate would be about 75 or about 30 something cents.
do you all seriously think that is an issue?
