Hello,

maye it is cause i'm from europe, but the last real issue i see in the game is heavy rubberbanding sometimes.

OK, my Ping mostly is between 130 and 175, but others do have higher Pings, so i don't think, that's what it come from. But in fact, on some matches, i see most of the enemies jumping forth and back and such things. That makes it nearly impossible to get a good aiming.
All other issues i had in the past (crash to desktop and so on) are gone, but that rubberbanding is still a "bit" annoying.

That sounds like a problem with the netcode to me. I think it's being addressed in the next month or so.

A correction:

I just had a match, my HUD was not there, i could not even see who's friend ore foe - nothing, no minimap, no radar, no signs abouve the mechs... But that was the 1st time since very long i had this.

I'm tired of remembering the fps numbers again...

It's enough to say, that before yesterday I had a constant high fps.
Now the old thing comes back - higher fps in the calm, and awful fps drops - not only in action, every now and then.
I haven't seen red fps numbers since the last patch - now they are back... :)

It's really annoying, that one patch improves the performance, and then the next ruins it. After that it takes a month, to get it right again, just to start it over....

I'm seeing occasional FPS drops for the first time since I built this machine, nothing like a slideshow but dramatic enough that it causes stuttering. I have also noticed the rubberbanding light mechs since the patch, but that's not necessarily anything new.

The Space Pope has experienced massive FPS loss this patch but he has noticed that if he changes the game to run on "Full Window" as opposed to "Full Screen" he has worse but playable FPS.

Worth a try if you are experiencing poor performance post patch.

NVM, trying it for some number of rounds, FPS proved to be abysmal again.

Noticable FPS drop but not as bad as some others. Around 5-10FPS worse than pre-patch but still getting 25-40 in combat, 35-50 when not facing other players. Still some optimising to do IMO, but good to see work being done, even if things have not quite been solved yet. Gotta admit Im still itching for the new net code as I think this is more needed than FPS tweaks at this stage.

FPS is going crazy.. used to get a steady 10-16 fps. I'm not getting MAJOR drops from 4fps-18 fps. while I see smoke specifically.

*Edit* ... after a complete reinstall of mechwarrior.... clearing my catch and starting fresh with mwo. I now get a steady 18~24 fps. This is the highest fps I've EVER had in mwo. GREAT JOB PGI :(

I suggest running a fresh install for everyone else aswell. Seems to clear up A LOT of my issues.

What most of you don't understand is that one cool looking particle effect can really mess up FPS, if you have 6 guys all dump PPC's at the same moment at the same target with a bad performing yet really cool particle effect it can drop FPS to a white screened mess! Light sources, snow, smoke, eruptions, etc all cause load on a systems performance and it only takes one bad performing one to f it all up. The hardest part is having these cool looking effects remain cool and perform great! It's harder than you all think! Also CryEngine is one of the most painful engines to work in and it requires LOTS of trial and error. What may perform great in an Alpha test could blow up in beta for some, most, or all players.

Now I do wonder if the devs are even checking performance of these particle effects with loaded servers, modified loadouts of boating the same weapons and all 16 testers repeatedly dumping and chain firing on the same target to see what happens to fps. I lost count of how many times I know the weapons fire in my area has cause a massive issue with my fps.

My original point about the particle effects is that when you look in certain directions you maybe looking at an effect or in the direction of one that is static in the map and causing the issue, or it may be a planet in the skybox, or the water, or blowing snow. This is why you have low fps when looking around parts of maps. Even if you don't see it, it may still be causing the issue.

This is indeed a good point, but the Space Pope's problem is that he went from 50+ FPS(stable) to less than 10, regardless of setting used, where he looks or what happens.

Of course one should pay attention to when one notices an FPS drop, it makes sense if it drops during heavy fighting or in similarly intensive situations.

OK, another issue: Sometimes after you died, you can't use the chat. It does not work, not to the friends, nor to the enemies.

  • Whether there are specific points in the game when your performance changes - overall my performance seems to have improved. For instance, my GPU used to work at full load in the main menu and is now operating at nearly default speeds until the game launches. I also noticed an increase in CPU performance, whereas it's not @ 99-100% utilization all of the time during gameplay.
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch - No changes | 1920x1080 | high settings | vsync off | motion blur off
  • Average FPS ingame and in the menus for previous patch and latest patch - Prior patch: 60fps menu | 75-120fps in-game. Current patch: 150-160fps in menu and stays between 65-75 during gameplay (fps slightly less, but are more stable during game play w/current patch)
  • System specs
    Spoiler
  • Your advertised internet connection speed / Geographic location: 6MB/512 ADSL | Southeastern USA
Oh yeah, and for those of you that still come across the yellow screen try shift-F11 and it should clear it up!

Honestly some of our lag is because our newer Nvidia cards are built to run on DirectX11 and not DX9, and when they added it in closed beta for a few weeks i was able to run this game on all high settings with over 60fps at all times. Now i run the game on lowest settings and get 11-15 fps at all times.

Nvidia GT 650m 2gb video memory
12 GB of RAM
Intel core i7-3610QM 2.3GHz and with turbo boost to 3.1GHz

Well, now I just have to use these tweeks to try to get some FPS boost. I have gotten about 5-7 more FPS, but the game seems to Yellow screen MUCH more often. So try it and see if it works for YOU!

After playing a few matches I noticed pings were not any larger than usual mine and everyone elses, however I also noticed that the bigger mechs were not taking much damage to the parts where I was hitting unless they were at a dead stop.

This is something I have learned to cope with against mechs passing 110k/h in speed but lag shooting an atlas or slow centurion?

I can't be the only one noticing this.

It seems I need to re-learn lag shooting after this patch. I thought I was pretty good at it and now I can`t seem to hit squat.

After this patch I've noticed frequent mech teleportations (all that can run over 60kph - teleportates on 1-2 torso size in direction of moving).
Before patch could teleport mechs with speed over 110kph (it was rare), much less teleportations, but actual position of mechs was in 1, 2 or 3 torso size ahead of motion.
Usually ingame fps 45-60, ping 160-210
System spec: i5, 8GB RAM, 650Ti, Win7. Game settings - High.

This is what they requested and an admin had to remind people of this fact, Taron. Babbling brooks need to stroll over the general discussion forum and you need to comprehend what PGI requested out of this thread... but thanks for your valued input. They're looking for more than just those that have outdated rigs trying to run the CryEngine3. Newer systems are being affected as well in case you haven't heard.
