btw, the P stands for Progressive Scan and I stands for Interlaced. Computers always use P, so you're "playing" at a resolution of 1920x1080, and this has a HUGE effect on graphical performance compared to playing at 640 or 720 or 800 or 1024 or 1280 or 1600, etc etc.
Your computer is constantly "rendering" via calculations and math, it's not a movie screen where the visuals are canned and just redrawn by 1's and 0's.
At only a 2gb RAM machine, with 4gb being the supposed minimum, bump your resolution down to something reasonable.
Also check to make sure that V-sync is disabled and your visual settings are set to low. All my visual settings get reset every patch, leading to horrors of memory leaks and stepping "outside ram" with MWO.
As lampshade said, I have 2GB video ram. The machine has 16GB normal RAM. The drivers are the nVidia ones released 3 days ago. I said 1080p because frankly it's shorter to type than 1920x1080 and is the established name for that resolution, even if progressive vs interlaced isn't really all that applicable in the computing world.
EVERYTHING worked fine yesterday, and the day before and the day before that, back to closed beta. Something in this patch REALLY screwed things up. I previously could run at 1920x1080, high settings at a constant > 30fps. Now, dropping the setting down to lowest, lowering my resolution to 1600x900, etc... and I get perhaps 30fps, which then spikes down to 12 or worse when I do things like.... turn.
The most perplexing thing is the lag like performance, where mechs rubberband or skip, even though I am running a <30ms ping.
This one is certainly a case of "It's not me, it's you". You being PGI.

I would and have. There's a major difference, though. I don't be a **** about it.
This thread has been remarkably civil and level headed, especially considering the game has been made unplayable for many participating in the conversation. Frankly, the only one being a **** here is you.

Did this get worse for anyone else?

AMD 8-Core 12GB ram 3.2ghz
AMD Radeon HD 6800 series card with 2.768GB ram
I wouldn't think I'd have an FPS issue ... now the game uses all 8 cores to about 30% which I find interesting...
I run at 1920X1080p 60hz
Lower resolutions still has the FPS bug...
I have directx 11 installed ... downgrade to 9?

It's starting to feel like this will be a game made by americans for americans and the rest of can go take a walk. I have quite a few founder friends that are more than pissed off with this.
I see light mechs running around on fairly open/even ground yet they rubberband all the time??? Is this your fix? Because if it is then prepare for a lot of requests for money back from founders NOT based in the usa.

Anyway system specs are HD 5770 (lower end card), i5 2500k, 8GB, Win7 64bit. Not really sure if that provides any help.

I experienced a FPS drop too, about the same amount. GeForce 560M in my case. The top stickied post is where we are discussing it, and where your post will ultimately be moved.

After the patch I am now getting 21 fps at _BEST_ and a consistent 10-15 fps if I move or shoot.
There have been no changes between yesterday and today on my system, the only variable appears to be the latest patch. (Dxdiag submitted)

Specs:
AMD 6-core processor @ 3.3GHz
16GB DDR3 Memory
nVidia GeForce 660 Ti w/ 2GB memory
I've tried dropping the resolution to 1440x900 and changing to medium settings, but the maximum still hovers around 30fps so this definitely seems like an added bug.
Edit: Also, from taking a look at the forums, I'm wondering if maybe the fps hits are being seen mostly by users who have higher end graphics cards. Just a thought?
Thanks for continuing to work on these issues.
