In reading every post in this thread I continue to see so many people who have been dissapointed with this game for months. If that's the case then nothing PGI can do or has done will satisfy you. Since your satisfaction will never be sated, maybe it's time for you to move on to something else. Seriously, give it some thought. You can obviously read the patch notes PGI gives out here and via email. Use them as a gauge as to when you'd like to return if at all.

Did also read each post and 80% are dissapointed. Honestly - like above said- a bunch of hobby devs in mwll were 2x better than you guys. Is that the effort of 1 months working? one new mech 2 modules camo and disco fix? A new map would be done within a week by 1-2 pro guys. Just watch caustic valley, its a quick to made map.

Dont get me wrong i love this game but PGI is just too slow with developement. Actually i do expect more from Pro Devs. Even Thou there are many games which has been build within 1 year from bottom to top. For how long this game is still in Beta? And when will it be released?

Sad.... Money cant be the problem (Founders programm 5 Mils- Many Hero mechs in matches + so many special paintings+ ++)

LOL! They did nothing to ECM. Instead they're...they're actually mocking us, don't they? Sensor Range for those LRM boats who feel the pain of ECM, really? :P So now LRM-boats cannot track their enemies over bigger distances! xD

Yeah, this was an insult to players who have been trying to tell the devs what the problems are. Clearly, they have continued to turn a deaf ear to us and only heard what they wanted to hear.

To dare to say an increase in sensor range will somehow counter an ECM system that prevents lock-on from 200m out to infinity is clear proof the devs have the same attitude towards their players that a certain MMO about a galaxy far, far away has....that players are fools and just marks to be taken for all their worth because they aren't smart enough to spot a con job.

I expected better of this dev team. Instead, once again, we see they are just like every other corporate game company that could care less wether people continue to play their game or not, as long as they have their money already.

Promises were made yes, but no time frame as to when they will be given has been told to anyone. Remeber that every time you see those notes. Hopefully you'll find it less annoying when you didn't get what you wanted.

So... another ECM lagshielded light mech?

I'm really beginning to question PGI's priorities and game design philosophy...

Promises were broken.

No. Projections were made and assumptions were made.

ECM counters already exist and more were just added, that's what the sensor range and target delay modules do, as already pointed out, the rank 1 sensor range module lets you target ECM Mechs at 230m, but since it's useless and no one uses it, like BAP(which also increases sensor range and stacks with the modules), none of you NOTICED this. Target delay will also let you keep them targeted longer, so...we have more then just ECM to counter ECM boys and girls, your lack of using the tools is NOT PGI's fault, it's your own. Seriously, did none of you get the message from PGI already, ECM is WAI? They said that because they already had tools ingame to help combat ECM like the sensor range module and BAP, which you all claim are useless, and they knew they were adding MORE modules that help counter ECM and there's MORE modules still to come in the future.

What it the crap are you talking about? ECM counters BAP and the Sensor Range Module NOT the other way around. And the new Target Delay says that you keep the lock longer after losing sight of a mech NOT that it stops jamming.

Not much of a patch.

Need more maps, more game modes, better match making, etc

a new mech WITH ECM and a warning it probably doesn't work with the netcode

Yeah I saw that too and it makes me question what they're doing. I mean, considering the number of mechs already released, they couldn't have delayed announcing the Spider? This game needs more maps and more game modes before it needs more mechs. Hopefully, it won't be that bad . . . hopefully.

I was hoping for "big new things" right out of the gate for the new year.

This is more like a whimper.

New mechs are hardly going to impress people and placate them.

"More ECM" is not what we had in mind, and nothing else actually works.

Especially when the new mechs are of the lagshielded ECM variety...

TAG works as a good counter when trying to lock on. Just LOS needed.

so the only thing that could help me in theory a tiny bit against ecm are modules that cost 5k gxp and 2 mill cbills ?

We have added a few new Modules to boost your Target information that I am sure will be popular, Target Decay Rank 1 and 2, as well as Sensor Range Rank 2. A must for those LRM boats still feeling the pain from ECM.

Because the problem was lock on time, not the fact that you can't lock at all. More range? Kinda like the BAP Equipment, which is ruined by ECM anyway?

Put down the pipe, devs.

With the Sensor Range modules you can target ECM mechs from farther away.

230m for rank 1
250m for rank 2

Giving a much larger area where you can target the mech but are not being disrupted by their ECM

No module: 20m window between detection and being jammed
Rank 1: 50m window (150% increase)
Rank 2: 70m window (250% increase)

Incorrect. The ECM system specifically states no lock-on beyond 200m. Period. No modifiers. And it isn't like 50 more meters amount to anything beyond lip-service similar to 'TAG counters ECM' or 'Units can lock onto a target in the 20m window between the 200m prohibition and the 180 range of the ECM, so there is no problem with units using LRMs because you can lock onto them as long as you maintain that 20m bracket'.

not even, if you consider how ECM works vs targeting systems in the first place.

Only if you are fighting morons, in which case it is superfluous.

Anyone with a brain can dodge TAG between the time you get the "incoming missiles" message and when the missiles hit 15 minutes later.

No, you also need the target to not be moving. And be beyond 180m. And you need to be able to know they are there.

Yeeeah. I think you meant 'not a good counter'.
