Keep pretending there haven't been countless valid threads containing reasons why certain features are broke.

Now, after weeks of being ignored people are getting upset, and you think it isn't deserved.

I don't show respect to those that do not reciprocate.

There have been valid threads and well thought-out points (some I agree with, some not) but you have to admit the signal to noise ratio makes the forums a very unpleasant place to visit, particularly with the amount of insults thrown the devs' way.

It isn't different than any game I have ever played. But generally when a huge number of the same complaining threads pop up, thought out or not. It is usually good manners to make some statement concerning it.

So far, the majority of the complaining is ecm and net code. They have said they are working on the net code but ECM has not warranted a single response other than "working as intended" in a PC gamer article.

That is absurd.

Starcraft has people complaining race X and Y is OP by Z players to this day. That Y and Z is OP by X players and Z and X is OP by Y players. Countless threads, bajillions of words, yet if you look at it logically, they are just whine.

Additionally, when numerous serious questions are posted in the "Ask the Devs", and they answer some BS about how they would **** an urbanmech and ignore all actual community concerns, it is a complete slap in the face.

Read the 29A answers. It is the most pathetic attempt I have ever seen.

I agree, your post certainly WAS full of vitriol.

I don't suppose you play Guild Wars 2? Some of the stuff posted on those forums, especially after their November event muck up was just... Yeah, it puts the worst stuff on these forums to shame! I fired off a few posts too into the fray because I was one of the players affected by the problems surrounding the event. As a developer I reckon I'd be on anti anxiety medication before long if I had to read my own hypothetical game forums every day!

And yet so many many forums are just as much of a wretched hive of scum and villainy as this one. But here we have zero communication. The GW2 devs/mods communicate and so do others, why not PGI? Why can't CW be discussed, why is ECM 'working as intended' heck, what's the intention? Why did Phase 3 matchmaking get pushed? is there a new ETA? etc etc on and on.

I do in fact play GW2 and frankly the moderation and involvement there is leagues ahead of what I find here.

I think gamers whine more than any other group of people.

I can see why they would abandon the General Discussion. The first page is nothing but "this is why your game is bad". It's like that all day, everyday. Maybe if they were new complaints, but they are just the same posts.
I think that people that actually cares about the game and act reasonable are the ones that all left with the devs to other means to communicate, cutting out most of the bs; leaving all trolls behind.

tl;dr

If PGI was really listening to us why is Garth spending all his time on Reddit ? Instead of the OFFICIAL Forum ?

The facebook slam campaign is off to a huge success! Oh wait, just trolls twisting responses from a several month old Q&A. I find it hilarious that the more vocal trolls average ~30 tear-soaked posts a day. I'd say "passionate" was an understatement. Nothing to see here, continue the great work devs.

I do like the way the devs involve themselves in discussions, especially because a lot of the time they refute popular forum opinion with excellent arguments.

Did anyone notice that the topicstarter linked to a Q&A from November 2012? Has there yet been solid proof that this is true, or might this be one the most successfull troll attemps in months???

Its simple this place sucks balls is why. Hey 100 post about the netcode and how it sucks... wait they reply and say they are working on it. Still 100 more post about the netcode and how it sucks... you want them to just sit around posting "we are working on it" all day? 90% of the threads in this area of the forums are the same thing. True of the matter is most people that I play with dont read or post in the forums. They are out playing and having fun.

So go ahead and claim how much you love this game and your **** talk is just you trying to help... if this game fails I guess you all can go back to TT and wait another 10 years.

He designed all the weapons from scratch when FASA already designed them 25 years ago? Impressive.

i just gotta say I'm not reading any of this thread... but I'm pretty sure threads like this are precisely why devs "ignore" the forums.

ignore is in quotes because i don't think the devs ever said they ignore the forums... they said they don't like coming here... yeah, i don't like coming here either, it gives me a bad attitude about stuff as well, so i understand what they are saying

i stick to the moderated patch feedback and the command chair if i can... if the devs could come to the forums and not have to weed through hours of whining, PGI sucks, the game is dead, PGI doesn't know what they are doing, Russ Bullock smells, Garth punched a baby - style threads then maybe they would be more inclined to respond to feedback and/or provide more insight as to what they are doing or where there are going with things. but as it stands now even when they do something good for the community, like release a hero mech, or patch content that wasn't planned, etc etc... they get all these emotional rants.

i can't say i'm not guilty of going on a tangent about something, because i have occasionally provided some non constructive feedback peppered with sarcasm. But like Russ Bullock said months ago... we need to remove the emotion from our feedback

there are some good people on this forum with good ideas which are presented constructively... and then there are some straight trolls that need to be in timeout for using momma's internet. The Mechwarrior IP has the bestworst community out there. I think we could benefit from a little patience and just think before you type

carry on.

If I had a quarter for every time someone was slapped in the face, I'd have a lot of money to contract out for people to slap them in the face some more.

I don't think the devs have to read the forums, but I expect the Community Team to do so and gather feedback and information and relay it to them.

I have no idea if it's the Community Team or the Devs or the pure impossibility of managing a project like MW:O for a team of the size or a quantum fluctuation, but I don't get the impression that feedback is sufficiently heard or understood.

In my opinion for example, the entire weapon balance could have been countless of steps further than it is now, and the weak attempts of improving it do not suggest to me that the devs seriously considered and/or are aware any of the feedback they were given (either in the forums directly or via the community team).

There are some things that we can be sure of they heard. For example, lag code, pardon, net code. They seem to be aware. But it's taking its time. It's bad that it does take this time, but such things I can completely understand taking time, because I simply would have no clue how to do it.
But other things I convincingly made myself believe I know how I'd do it, and on that front, I am just not optimistic anymore.

As critical I am of the game, I really really really hate posts include the words Slap, In, The and Face.

Hate with white hot fury. Probably a reaction from my time on the WoW forums.
