And by minimum, I mean none.
And by none, I mean don't do it at all anymore. Let's talk about how we think these changes will affect the GAME, and what YOU will do to utilize these, without mentioning ANY other players.
Your test begins... now.
We're 13 pages in, and I can't be bothered to find anything intelligent in all this bull crap.... guess they FAIL....
...pathetic.

The kids, they don't know man. They'll learn2internet eventually. It's like discovering Alt-F4 by getting Alt-F4'd by someone.

Resistance is futile, there will always be whine. To complain about the whine is to succumb to the whine such is it's insidiousness.
No one is safe! Even a hermit in a cave in the Himalayas will hear whine.

I was in the Minecraft Beta forums. It was like being on the destruction of the planet. Every week. Sometimes 3-4 times a week. That place was in-sane. Much worse than here by orders of magnitude. The polars who are always the loudest groups anywhere, were absolutely massive.

Fat and barrel-chested, Sgt. Geoffrey Barnes settled in beside him. "Somethin' on your mind, Lieutenant?"
Dixon let out a slow sigh. "Yeah, I guess you could say that. Sarge, I know you're not a Mechwarrior, but how do I deal with an ECM-equipped opforce?"
"We fixed that issue your targeting computer was having tracking fast targets. Y'want my expert opinion? Just shoot `em," Barnes replied with a chuckle. He glanced upwards at Maxwell's stalker then did a double-take. The bulk of five LRM-20s turned the `Mech's normally sleek outline into a bulbous caricature. Barnes found his face resting squarely in the palm of his hand before he even realized he'd moved.
"Lieutenant," Barnes asked, "Y'ever considered bringin' a secondary weapon?"
"Yeah," Dixon replied. "But the Streak SRMs weren't working well so I stripped them out."
Barnes shook his head. "Y'tried any normal SRMs? They spread out more but that just means they can hit a light in the legs--and a legged `Mech is a dead `Mech. Heck, even some lasers'll help you do the job. Just lead the target a little and let `em walk right into the beam. I promise your targeting computer's fixed, you won't have the same problem hitting anything even if you can't target it. Heck, I bet we could mount a couple of ER PPCs in the arms if you're really worried. Some charged particles ought to interfere with the ECM somethin' awful."
This is soooo good, it's as good as the coming balance changes.

also call me crazy but the vast vast majority of the users on these forums are not "pubbies" but people who play regularly with friends on voice chat.
sooooo it would follow, logically, then, that most of the whining here on the forums is NOT by pubbies, wouldn't it?

If there is to be a match vs a clan.. then we should have a strategy discussion before game start.

Pubbies come in more than one Shade, there are 50 Shades of pubbies.

With range improved TAG, new PPC effects and the upcoming sensor module effects this is definitely a step in the right direction.

In what world are you living that everybody can use ECM?
It is like saying no mech or weapon is OP, because everybody can use it.
It is restricted to 5 mechs. 2 of which have the greatest amount of missile hardpoints in the light range, and the assault choice has 3.
Some mechs, like 3 of 4 Centurions can't carry a PPC, and can only have TAG if their sole energy weapon is a medium pulse laser max (and the YLW can't carry missiles).
And in terms of sensors, once again BAP is left the poor cousin, not getting the extended detection range of the sensor modules.

I don't think PPC need a heat nerf/buff, but the ER might (if only a slight.)

Its nice to have some added effect to ppcs, but it will be of minor use imo.
The main thing that would stop my problems with ecm would be how it blocks knowing what mechs are friendlys.
I have multiple times killed friendlys that are in an enemy ecm blanket and now pretty much refrain from shooting any targets in a brawl as unless I have seen which friendlys walked into the ecm blanket I have no idea who is who.........
Basically either choice I am given there will generally result in harm to my team.
1. Fire at mechs I "think" are the enemy ones, risk hitting/killing teammates.
or
2. Don't fire and watch or get closer. Not firing means im doing nothing for my team (unless im capping) getting closer generally means im running into a brawl with no info and lose any advantage I would have had beforehand.
Fixing that would solve pretty much all my issues with ECM. I can live with the other parts of it.

I'm way more interested in heat changes to lasers and ppcs.
Could we get preview of the new heat values? I'd like to theorycraft builds in advance.

Less ECM Atlas on the field is a great thing. They are the backbone of the 4-man que premades so nerfing
them by buffing PPC is a little nerf to premading. Great stuff.

Trying to balance something that is totally out of proportion OP with a counter effect is total bogus. The devs made a mistake with ECM and how it is implemented and they are not man enough to admit it.
Can I still consistently win 8 mans? Sure, but I know to bring at least 3-4 D-DC and 2-3 Raven 3Ls and missiles are pretty much out of the equation and most medium mechs are obsolete.

Netcode drove most from Lights to assaults, PPCs will drive ECM Assaults to Mediums, More buffs will force ECM Mediums to heavies...
... and guess what?
...there are no ECM heavies
