I think it is fair to say that MWO offers a legitimate F2P experience. It also offers a legitimate freemium experience for those willing to pay for more. Isn't this enough ? :-)
All true....but frankly, some folks like to argue. They're wrong, but they still like to do it

You would need to buy more bays to continue to advance in the game, lest you keep playing the same style of game repeatedly. Substitute 'bay' for 'chapter' and 'style' as 'levels' and you have your old-school shareware model - you can keep running about in E1M*.wad for as long as you like but if you want the rest, pay up. This is fine, because everyone's got to eat, however it's the reason why I'd call MWO F2P mode a demo, because you are virtually limited to that sort of experience. I like the distinction between "Free to Play" being a marketing term, and "truly Free to Play" being the real meaning of "Free to Play"
You can master every non-hero mech in the game with 4 bays. Prove otherwise, please.
You can play on every map in the game, in every mode of the game, without a dime spent.
I'm not seeing what non-paying members would be lacking except for the convenience of keeping every mech they like.
The marketing terms you are defining and not "Free to Play" and "Truly Free to Play"
You are defining "Free" and "Free to Play"
(This was mentioned earlier in this same post, no one could argue otherwise. When someone makes a point you can't counter, you ignore it?)

I appreciate you stopping by for your first ever post, because you're the person that this whole argument comes down to.
All of us with founder's badges already know where our heart lies. I find it ridiculous that people keep thinking they speak for the untapped masses. I find it much better to hear what a free to play player thinks about it.
So in all seriousness I appreciate you stopping by and I hope everyone else here who thinks they argue for someone else can read what people like you actually have to say.

I haven't spent one penny on the game.
I haven't even had one point where I had all 4 mech bays full.
You're missing out on cammo, a couple of cockpit decorations and the ability to play mech Pokemon.
Look, I realize that you wanna catch 'em all but that's a vanity and not a requirement.
The game is free to play. I've never, not once, felt at a disadvantage to anyone because I don't pay.
The only thing that irks me at all is the XP/GXP thing since getting good at my mech of choice requires me to grind, unenjoyably, other variants of it. That's the only thing in this game that's designed to be unenjoyable in order to try and coerce me into spending money.
Video pop up adds on most websites are more offensive.
I realize that you won't be able to become Mecha-Pokemon-Master with all the colors of the rainbow and hula girls for every mech but such is the price of being a cheap bastage.
My heart bleeds peanut butter for you.

Blah I'm right ..because reasons.
Blah blah Andecdotal observations and apples to oranges comparisons
Blah blah Your using unreasonable extremes in your disagreements and that will cause this game to die if they listen to you not me
Blah blah blah I know better than the devs
Blah blah blah blah everyone shut up cause i'm right.
I think I captured it.

Don't you know every day there's a 1st place prize for most herp per derp in a 16.2 hour period?

If you want to impact real change let's talk about the herp to derp ratios in this game, they are obviously slanted to the payers.

I'm sure one of the following applies:
- First rule of MWO comp scene, you don't talke about MWO comp scene.
- If you have to ask, you can't afford to play in it.

Every time I think I have read it all, then something likes this comes along, again.
Your get 4 FREE MechBays ffs. How many Free things do you really feel is actually reasonable. 6? 8? 15?
Time to get a grip on something firm dude. When this free fall from sub space of yours ends, the jolt is going to be tremendous.

Nope nor can ANYTHING you do buy provide you with any kind of advantage or ability you could not also get for cbills.
Cbill purchases:
Mechs
Weapons
Some colors
MC Purchases:
Mechs
Mech bays for collectors
More colors
Patterns
Cockpit Kitsch
Premium Time
What can you not get without paying:
Patterns, a bunch of colors, cockpit kitsch, Hero mechs
What does premium time do?
Makes each game count as a game and a half of equal result (you have bought time... heh time is money
![:)](https://static.mwomercs.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png)
Where does any unfair advantage arise?
That's right nowhere, you can pay for bling and saved time... wheee. And before you trot out hero mechs ask people what they think of most hero mech variants.
The only thing that matters is Mechs and weapons and you can only even get half of that equation with MC directly.
