maybe it took you guys 2 turns to get moving then. 14 hexes would put me well in front of you. it is just where janitor decided i was at. you guys were about 7 hexes ahead (i originally said i should be about even with you guys though further to the east)

no offense, but we were all moving east, Lance Two never stopped, that was your lance Havok called to do so... "Havok called for his lance to come to a halt upon hearing that Lance two had spotted contacts"
when we made adjustments to our motion it was to move north into the open as part of the pincer movement. that would put you south of us. you may have continued east, and hence be southeast of us, but you never got in front of us on the north flank. besides, in your own post, you faded "deeper into the forest" which would be to the right, hence south, SE, or at best ESE.
sorry, but i'm one of those people who live by directions and from the descriptions we have had so far, i can map out the positions before we were fired upon if that will help.

For those who haven't seen it, I'm working on building a 3D Dervish in the Fan Art section (http://mwomercs.com/...558-3d-dervish/). And yes, I've tried to get the left arm up in the position Fishy tries in the story, and the only way of doing it pretty much requires knocking the doors off.

3DS Max. Once I've got the mesh finished, I'll be using Mudbox and Photoshop (and perhaps a little 3D-Coat, but it's been misbehaving recently) to do texturing.

cool. i'm an old video guy, so all i have is a REALLY old version of Lightwave and truespace (recently pulled blender down to play with but i haven't tried it out yet. i run the production premium version of cs4, so i do have PS (though a couple year old version).

sounds like you get to play with the good toys. good for you, sir (i'm a wee bit envious).

@Janitor: when I fire, I might ought to note that i don't have board dice that I know of anymore to be able to determine damage and besides, I'm not nearly the BT wizard several other folks here are... so I ask: do you want me to make an MW assessment of the damage from my alpha, or do you (or your designee) wish to do the rolls and tell me the results?

this argument is really going nowhere...

according to janitors initial post on the forest it was to the east of us. the next thing we found was that there was an enemy unit heading northeast in front of us. which way the forest goes was never really specified. so i assumed that the forest line went on a north south line, meaning the enemies were heading into the trees from the open. me fading in the forest would take me on a north eastern trajectory. referencing your post saying you accelerated to 86, you were going slower than that prior to contact. which is why i initially said i was probably even with your lance though farther east. (still true, i assumed you guys all stopped with Shepard)

look at the little lines by location for what i mean ( sorry about the small scale, zooming might help) the red line is the route i thought havoks took. the blue line was the enemy lance, the pink line shows lance 2's intercept and yellow was the route i took.

the biggest issue with my interpretation is the issue of scale. everything is way too close in mine.

+1 for the Gauntlet reference.

And I sleep when the majority of you lot are awake. Which means I wake up to find 20/50/100 unread posts waiting for me. :)

VENGEANCE!

I either sleep too little or too much, I'm still trying to decide which. But I'm usually up from 6 am to anywhere between 8pm to 2 am. depending on if I have to work or the mrs. want to watch one of her TV shows.

post is up, though i am still wondering what would have happened if mist hadn't done his one man army thing.

also, if those po's show up before you guys down the mech lance, odds are you won't be able to avoid their range.

Spokes, MWO ranges, you could have fired your PPC from a 1000m, or were you getting into optimal range?

I do not expect people to roll, since that means an understanding of the BT TT rules that I and possibly others don't possess, if you wish to roll, that is your choice, so long as it is not a straight up murder of the enemy you're attacking.

I have an updated map I'll post soon, and I'll even illustrate what directions who was moving if you guys want.

Sleep... um... "Duncan? Need definition of the word 'sleep'."
"'Sleep'... searching... overrated noun covering periods of wasted time needlessly squandered on complete inactivity by humans. You really need to continue to avoid such waste."
"Bite m e, Duncan."

Optimal range. The Scorpion only has ten standard heat sinks and Li isn't the best shot, so plucking at them from extreme range didn't seem like a good idea.
