But it is an energy weapon so you don't have to worry about ammo. I'd say the biggest concern would be the heat generated from the weapon and the movement.

I will freely admit, I'm still adjusting to the different range values. The designs in the TROs were play tested and balanced to standard Battletech ranges, and the more I think about it the less sense the Scorpion makes. I'm going to assume that missiles don't suffer from damage fall off? That being the case, I don't see any reason not to move forward where my PPC will hit at full strength.

Also, I don't think Li is going to be able to hit anything from 1000 meters away, and she's self aware enough to know it.

TBH, I'd had the ranges from MW4 stuck in my head for the longest time. Been reading up on the BT lore over the past few months and it I think you're right Spokes. Unless mechs are "adjusted" as they were in MW4 and MWO, some of the designs and loadouts dont make a whole lot of sense.
The more I read however, the more I come around to the view that the new "adjustments" are the things that dont make sense ;)

James is currently waiting to see how the Chameleon and Crusader react to the weapons fire, TOG's engaging the Cicada and if they're paying more attention to Shade than to watching out for him on their right flank (i.e. a post from Janitor detailing the action)

(edit: syntax for clarification)

It might be a prudent time for me to state that when players in my RPs jump before looking, they find that there isn't an 'invisible' stone bridge, ala Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
I punish players who try to bite off more then they can chew, Sorry guardian wolf, but you lept right into the midst of a 65 ton Heavy and a 50 ton Medium, there probably isn't an alternate reality where Shade escapes without getting beaten badly. I suggest withdrawing before the Po Heavy Tanks get too close.

He's not dead, at least not yet, though if he stays for another post of mine, he might be.

EDIT: New post is up.

And I think our air support might be a bit miffed if we provided anti-air fire against them.

just saying, flyboys showing up just in the nick of time to take out the arty is too convenient. somethings gonna happen.

i would prefer them to take out the po's personally.

It's not simply convenient, it's justifying a player's choice for an unusual feature. Shepherd picked a character with a 'Mech that had TAG, when he could have taken a more direct-combat focused machine. Janitor, like a good GM, has taken notice of this, and created a situation where having TAG is advantageous. The ASFs don't just turn up and vanish the arty, Shepherd has to use his TAG. Sure, it should be simple for him, but imagine if he didn't have it? "I sure wish we had some TAG right now!" GM decisions like this that validate player choices are gold.
