@Rogue I think he's just fine. People need to swear more creatively. And in as many languages as possible.

@Pat Sláinte Mhathe mate. Was great fun reading a writing with you. Please let us know if the old coot lands ok?

Waiting on the Tanks to weigh in and the rest of Havok lance to react before manoeuvring James.

Janitor, I believe I'll be making my last post shortly. Shade is going to die, unfortunately due to the fact that last night, my rolls sucked. However, I'm was thinking that he could at least kill the Crusader, before his mech went nova. And the reason he dies, was actually kind of funny, his ejector seat failed (I had to roll at least 5 on a 2d6 to get it to fire, 8 to make a safe landing, I got a 4).

i think i might have to ignore orders and send the raven to tag the po's. if they hit the battlefield while those mechs are active we are done, especially since we are down 2 mechs. arty can't fire while you guys are mixing it up danger close. unless there is more than a single mech protecting the long toms my charger should be able to take them out. and even if there is i can take them out, though it will cost me big time. even if we survive this we are going to have to pull back. down 2 mechs and pretty hefty damage on most of the rest. (if there is anything major at the base i am probably going to hit internals in several places.)

A flight of aircraft consists of 4-6 aircraft, two of Beake's jockeys have Arrow IV's, there are four aerospace fighters that can engage the Po's, you just need to relay their location to Havok and he will pass it on.
Though giving the location for the Po's instead is a viable option in the RP, I'll let you do it, but that Artillery base is probably gonna be a royal pain in the rear to deal without the Arrows.

So obviously I'm slightly frustrated at how poorly (in some people's opinion[s]) I've been running this.
So I'm holding a little mini poll, do you guys want me to continue and try to work my head out of my @$$? Or should I close up shop and try again later? Or just close shop?

Edit: Updated Map.

From the sounds of things, you've been running this pretty well Janitor. Keep up the good work.

There is no such thing as a perfect campaign Janitor, but I for one have always preferred my mashed potatoes to be a little lumpy. That way you know they didn't come out of a box. :)

Forward! Second star to the right and straight on till morning. . .

I gots no issues with how this is playing out.

the long tom arty trains themselves (assuming that is what is there, it was never established exactly what arty unit was there) are fairly easy to kill (i can 2 shot them). the issue is whatever defending units are there. i would also venture a guess on those po's being a large chunk of the base's defenses, meaning if there are any defending units left (got to be, too easy otherwise) the amount is going to be anemic.

It's not simply convenient, it's justifying a player's choice for an unusual feature. Shepherd picked a character with a 'Mech that had TAG, when he could have taken a more direct-combat focused machine. Janitor, like a good GM, has taken notice of this, and created a situation where having TAG is advantageous. The ASFs don't just turn up and vanish the arty, Shepherd has to use his TAG. Sure, it should be simple for him, but imagine if he didn't have it? "I sure wish we had some TAG right now!" GM decisions like this that validate player choices are gold.

^ I stand by that, emphasis added. You're doing a great job, and I want to see where this story and the stories that follow it are going.

I say we continue on till the bitter end, which might be very soon considering the forces stacked against us. I figure we can somehow fight through this and withdrawl to FOB Ballista wherever we can hide to lick our wounds. I'm guessing that we can 'run to the hills' or take cover in some mines or whatever. Considering that the downtime for repairs will from a RP perspective let everyone gather their wits about them and allow everyone (involved) to work out whatever kinks there may be with how things are running.

That being said, I think there are some things we all should work out.

Edit: Spacing and added a word or two.

Actually Janitor, I like how you are conducting this RP, it keeps everyone on the same level, it's just that really, I f*cked up (Yes Rogue I'm admitting to making a giant mistake). This is actually because of the fact that I seriously f*cked up when I tried to play, and now I realize, that if this is going to continue smoothly, I probably need to **** ASAP. Another reason is that, the spot I'm in, I really screwed myself over, because I left no avenue for retreat. I run, they'll cut me down in no time, I stay and fight, they cut me down in no time. I really just screwed myself in this RP Janitor, it really isn't your fault.

actually, at this point your shadowhawk is so beat up they will probably ignore you if you try to retreat. They would likely fight for their own hides first. and there are much more dangerous targets around. (plus, sparks just pissed off the crusader)

I don't know, he may have just became a secondary target depending on the mech's weaponry and how far away the rest of us are. I know that if I was the Chameleon pilot I'd shoot him up with my Small Lasers of DOOM! or maybe something else depending on how the ranges broke down.

I'm only teasing you most of the time GW but a few times you do make colossal mistakes - and are pretty good at admitting to them, volunteering for a total rewrite more than is strictly necessary. It's one of your good points :)
What I'd do is have a blurb of Shade thinking 'Well sh*t, I should really announce to the lance what I'm doing,' check his armour and decide he is pretty beat up. From there, depending on what you guys want to do I'd call for focusfire from the other Havoks and try to get some axe hits in - with a berzerking Shadow Hawk in amongst them and concentrated fire incoming, they'll probably retreat. 50-50 that your mech is dropped though. Other than that, I'd still call for supporting fire and bail for cover. Sneak about and either ambush the Pos in the rear or sneak back at the mechs later.
But that's just me.
