I doubt this is the reaction the OP was hoping for. Whiners need lots of emotional support and positive reinforcement.

You cowards are failing to provide it.

Oh, just shut your trap.
Maybe you feel the need to win these little forum arguments to show off and feel good about yourself - but some of us are here to have a discussion, not to indulge you.

maybe the defender bonus will encourage people to go kill/shoo the capping lights... that is if anyone is light enough to get back in time

It's not to "win" an argument - it's to try an pummel some sense into small minded people making sweeping insulting remarks about a large amount of players because THEY know the RIGHT way to play the game.

Or perhaps making snide remarks about casual players IS your prefered way of having a discussion, I dont know, I really don't care.

I don't go around making long posts about how premades are the scourge one way or the other but I DO tend to respond to childish posts with no thought behind them.

Especially when such arguments can be EASILY turned back.

You really like to make sweeping generalizations yourself, not to mention vast and over-reaching assumptions about me - perhaps you should correct your own behavior before you go about posting these disingenuous and insulting remarks of yours.

My reply was directed to the OP and its purpose was to concisely explain why so many puggers adopt the 'killstealing' behavior which is detailed in his post.
Ultimately it doesn't matter if one or two 'Mechs 'steal' his kills as long as his team wins; his statistics might suffer for it, but then again, if he were concerned about those, he probably shouldn't be pugging anyway.

Pilots are awarded more XP for assists, damage done and component destructions than killshots, at any rate, so I don't see what would be the point for a reward system as it was suggested by the OP.

As for me - I've been nothing but supportive of the pug community in MWO as I myself pug and premade both about 50/50.

Think long and hard before you start throwing these accusations around.

I found it at work an hour ago but couldn't post. I was worried that someone would beat me to it. I'm almost ashamed nobody did.

I am more concerned with the Defense Bonus. In one stroke, they have reverse the old trend of "is anyone gonna stop the Cap" to "Wait! Not everyone has to go back to save the base ffs!"

Hope they all buffed their Rear armors... lol :P

Not really, the way your post was written it REALLY sounds like a generalization about PUG's with a lot of the way non-casual players tend to voice their less than entertaining opinions.

My reaction was I agree - less than mature but I DO think I responded in kind. That said, If I DID misunderstand your post then I DO apologize.

It would have helped if you had quoted some of his post because it really did sound like someone berating casual players and not simply giving a possible explanation (one I dont agree with but that is another issue).

Nice, then we agree

As I said, this is about a misunderstanding to your post, I think I responded in kind,

It was a misunderstanding and we both agree on the issue.

Zellbrigen

The only problem I have with "KSing" are the accidental team kills when someone dashes in front of a shot to finish a mech off. Otherwise I think these additions might have a positive effect on pug play.

Could be.

To be fair though they need to omit the kill stat period and just put damage alone on there. Kills went out of style in rise of the triad multiplayer.

That should hardly matter.

There would be a declaration of challenge in that case and not simply people shooting each other. Besides, if someone interferes in such a challenge does he not risk becoming a target in that case? Clan allowed friendly fire?

Was mostly making a joke about how some people, the OP seemingly one of them, seem to think dealing damage to a target means they called dibs. Wasn't explicitly naming the practice as the culprit. So much for my budding career as a comedian.

How many trolls does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

I love you all and think you're each special in your own great way. Why not take a nice hot bath and sip on some cocoa?

Remember kids, santa wont get you any presents if you're naughty.

Sorry to interrupt all the name calling and whatnot, but I have a question about this "savior bonus". Does anyone know how it will actually work? Does this mean if I pump a shot into a spider with a blown JJ I will immediately become worth more points to the enemy for the rest of the round? Or do I actually have to be physically in the act of attacking the enemy? That is, am I only worth the points while my lasers are firing, or my missles/projectiles are in the air on their way to the target? Or do I have to have him (only?) target locked?

It sounds like the majority of the posters are misinterpreting what the OP meant. There is a difference between focus firing down an enemy and then there's purposely hiding and waiting until both the enemy and teammate is almost dead and then firing to get the last money shot kill.

It does not help your team to purposely leave your buddy hanging, not firing a single shot so that you can "save ammo" and not take any damage, and then jump in for that final killshot.
