I think you missed the point.
It's the hyperbolic rhetoric that I troll, not the topics themselves.
If you can't have a conversation without resorting to allusions of totalitarian censorship, accusations of malfeasance avoid absolutes like "always" and "never", and fall back on ad hominem when it's not going your way, your argumentative skills are poor at best.
You put yourselves into traps, and in the interest of making you post better, I exploit that, and I do it in such a way that if the MODs were forced to moderate me, then they'd have to moderate your position too. The difference is, I don't believe I'm being censored when they do it, I accept the fact that I might have gone too far.
I eat hyperbole and ad hominem for breakfast.
I know you think acting the way you do makes people post better, but in reality all you do is agitate and derail topics even further. It helps nobody, and is counterproductive to anyone's goals. Some want to let their frustration be known and others want to have a good discussion, but neither is possible when people troll threads in a vain attempt to provide for the greater good of post quality.

I officially do not like it now.
I get that general was a kind of rough (it is in any game forum) with a its fair share of negativity and redundant posts. However, it was also very efficient at getting out information and allowed for wholistic discussion of the game. Separate forums are easier for the devs to read, I'm sure, but they are very cumbersome for the customer. Any given topic could easily live in multiple sub forums that are now offered. This requires that I hunt through multiple sections to find updates, news and discussion. The same issue exists if I want to post something. Again, there is so much overlap...
Ex. If I want to discuss 4+ PPC stalkers, do I go to gameplay balance, meta game, mechs and load outs, or even suggestions.
Some topics are just GENERAL topics... I will say with out a doubt, my engagement in this game has suffered in the past week. I posted pretty much daily in the past. I'm not saying that means my opinion is more valid or anything, but this new structure has lessened my zeal to visit this site.
At the very least, please collapse the number of forums under the general game play section and get a better search function.
Edit: phone auto correct issues

They are not here. They are not listening to this thread.
They may moderate it if you name names here or threaten lives but for the most part they are going to leave this alone till it dies.
You will not get GD back.
The only way they will even begin to consider it is if the game is dying due to it.
Then it will be too late anyway.

Does anyone remember that 'Cut yourself for Bieber' thing?
Mods, I am joking of course. In no way am I advocating that we forum users self harm until GD is brought back. That said I have just stubbed my toe and may keep stubbing my toe until the GD forums are reinstated.

Watch out. You already know from Reddit they can not recognize a joke.

Stub your toe for the GD forums!
EDIT: yes that is a joke too.
EDIT2: my jokes are not working when I have to say I am only joking.
EDIT3: Yeah, my jokes are poor anyway!
EDIT4: That was not a 'political' post/thread and I don't mean it is such.
EDIT5: OK I think I am covered.

So. What happens if while checking on a communication problem with one of the cabs in the yard I stub my toe?
Is IGP libel for my damages or are you to blame for put the idea into my sub conscience or am I just an ***** for not having a clue as to where my very own feet are?.

Just waiting for the thread to die.
I believe that it has slowed enough that the powers that be can lock it and consider the discussion over.
Even though there never was one.

My only response is to go down to the fridge and to pop open another beer. Destroy your liver for the GD forums!
On topic, I think an official response as to why we are not allowed an official vote on whether we should have a GD forum is appropriate and very, very, very, very, very, very needed right now. Hell, it may end up that most vote no and that Russ is vindicated for his decision!

For once I may have to agree with you, but in Purplefluffybunny's defense Niko more or less threatened him on reddit yesterday so I'm sure he is a little more riled up than normal.

I read it. I don't think Niko actually intended to threaten PFB. It just came out that was as it does when someone has to do things they do not agree with.
I got money that says Niko has an IQ above that which would be needed to see what mistake IGP has made here.
This decision is probably by some IGP suit. Then he needs to come on here and try to make it work.
I would have probably quit but I have some money put away. But he might need the check right now.
I would be on edge and hating my Boss and us right now.

Again though. Like I said. I do not think Niko was intending to actually threaten.

I think you give Niko to much credit. His post earlier makes it pretty clear that he is fully onboard with this, but I digress this is not the subject of this thread.
I would still like to at least see some open dialog with the devs/mods in regards to these contentious forum changes. I would also hope that it wouldn't devolve into people being overly negative and Niko being vague about listening to our complaints while never giving any indication that he knows what they are.

He can not keep his job if he disagrees publicly with the company.

Yet he chose to make a post on reddit outside his jurisdiction. Something he did not need to do in order to tow the comapany line.
Roadbeer,
I have no idea why people use reddit either most of the time. It hurts my eyes.
