Yeah, I have noted the same behaviour. On day one I advised people to do this. It is easier to do when you drop as an 8. You can alternate who gets to max out each round.

Koreanese I've played with you. I know you are good. There are however other players out there that do indeed game the system.
For example [Redacted]Reputable Player[Redacted] a respectable NGNG Viewer and frequenter of the NGNG TS3 caught [Redacted] And 4 other mechs sitting around him while he stripped a mech for a score over 1k points.
When someone in chat says "let me get kills" I tend to do my best to take screenshots and 30 seconds of fraps to record evidence of stupidity. Some people work hard to get on those boards. There are those who don't

8 kills
0 assists (since you killed everything)
500+ damage
0 team damage (or not enough to take you under 500 damage done)
win
survive
the chances of pulling off 8 kills in one match is virtually impossible unless your team sets them up for you and even then its tough to make it happen.
So wtf is going on here? i highly doubt everyone is pulling 1000+ damage a match i mean the assualts and a few heavies maybe but how the f would the lights be pulling this off? best i usualy manage in my Death knell is 500-600 and thats in a really good match.
I just started running lights before General Discussion forum took an arrow to the knee.
So anyway I am not very good at them. Went with the Jenner chassis. I have almost all the basics now but a few games back I did what I thought was pretty good and even survived the match.
Looked at the score board and I was a little over 700 damage and had 3 kills.
I am not sure how I did it. Have not done it again since. It was a game before this latest tournament.
So I guess that rarely a good light pilot can hit 1000 damage.
Not sure how he could do it 5 times in a weekend though.

Why is the forum full of this anger just because some people cheat?
Lets hope PGI sorts this out and lets enjoy the fight for the top ten boards :-).

I'm having a great time just seeing where I rank in the greater scheme of things ... I wish they would post the total number of participants in each weight class.

While it IS possible to pull 1000 in a match with a Jenner it is extremely unlikely without some outside aid. People can post screen shots until they are blue in the face but until I see the actual FRAPS of the entire match plus the ending score board I will simply believe that those are numbers acquired by nefarious means.
QFT. While there are some spectacularly skilled pilots getting about, early days in the tournament I saw quite a few matches with prominent names who had 3-4 afk or DCs opposing them. Same names in a few matches. Maybe we should be sending screenshots to the devs. I'm a bit leery of falling victim to my own hubris though; while flattering to be called a cheater, it would suck if you weren't.

1300 damage in a jenner just happens? U mad bro!!
I personally dont know about lights - but Koreanese has made some clear points regarding the comp. I played a hell of a lot of games the other night and it was pretty tough but managed to get one that was 6 kills, 2 assists and 900 damage in my dual gauss jager. The truth is, that notions of sync dropping and abusing the system aside high scores are possible, they just take a hell of a lot of work and a decent level of skill.
Fingers can be pointed and accusations made, but not a lot can be done unless there is hard evidence as mentioned e.g. videos etc. Now my personal opinion is that Koreanese, you have some ace scores there - but unless i have actual proof i certainly wont pass judgement since i know first hand high scores are possible to achieve and i know the volume of games needed to get those lucky breaks! Heck, it took me a whole day to get that score!! Managed to finish 22nd after a whole day. Most matches were around 4 kills 3 assists and 700 damage..
..and assuming the scores are legit, which seems to be backed up by first hand accounts, id say hats off to you for pulling it off!!

There IS a FRAPS of a light pilot who gamed the system.
But when I posted it it was removed because of name and shame! Bullcrap!

Not when I see him.
But it doesn't matter really. Right now the tournament is just grinding for miracle matches where you can get 5+ kills and 450+ damage. You have to play very aggressive so get those scores so it's often a hit or miss. Personally I don't have the time to grind that much so I'm happy knowing that my average games are better then this. I've only just been pushed out of the overall top 50 while I'm around the 100's on the daily scores.
Panda Vinson explained it a bit better though.

Yeah I am seeing this too. The new tournament format is not bad, but in an attempt to remove the grind of the first tourney, the same thing is happening now, the grind for 5 epic games per day. For this tourney it is even more interesting. I'm unable to even get the 5 matches a day in more than 1 class, and have been sticking to my spider for lights to see how it comes out at the end of tourney just playing casually same way I do day to day.
Basically just becomes exactly what Koreanese said, a grind & some luck to nab those top epic scores.
various issues, no damage taken consideration. no capping consideration. no shot efficiency / headshots etc consideration. No tonnage/firepower consideration, im handicapping myself in a spider simply because I cant touch the DPS of a raven 3L in example. Nevermind that unless im hitting from behind or the head stripping stuff costs me way to much time and heat to really help my team.
So far the best match has been a 730dmg score with 3 kills 4 assists. pretty epic stuff, and when running a spider and 1 highlander alpha can be your end, its about 50% skill and 50% pure luck, teammates stripping stuff but you getting their kills, a shoulder/arm pops off through luck, you steal some dudes kill etc.
This tournament has been AWESOME. best one so far, and it rocks to see everything but LRM mechs out there recently (and a bit too much PPC), but still ive been impressed with the gameplay and the huge variety out there on the field.
Hopefully all this feedback will help PGI improve scoring, the more constructive you ugys are, the more it'll help the future game. Remember that these stats will also help for crunching CW stuff too most likely.
