Is this still being updated? Because I have to say I cant really see the K2 being tier 2, jager is just going to be better. Mostly though its head is just way too big for comp play...

thoughts?

Hi MavRCK...I was wondering why is the VTR_9B is much higher on the tier list than the VTR-9S when they have almost identical hardpoints? I mean both can use the AC20 right arm setup. While the 9B has an extra hardpoint in the right arm, it is uses less when you use an AC20, whereas the 9S has extra missile tube you can use ? Thanks for the time.

One of the better builds for the Victor is the 9B with UAC5, AC5, AC2, and 2 ML's. It does a helluva lot of sustained damage, provides consistent cockpit shake disruption, and, if you're good at aiming, you can put it all on the same spot. The only major disadvantage is that it's sustained fire, so you're less able to mitigate damage by torso twisting.

The real difference between the 9B and the 9S is the difference between that build and a hybrid ac/20 (or dual UAC5), 2 ML, and missile build. If the full dakka build is better for you, then the 9B is the better choice.

Most of us use AC10, 20, 2AC5 or 2UAC5 with 2 PPC and run the same build as with the highlander.

Mixing 3 ACs like that isn't a great idea. You're better off using 2 AC5s and 1 AC2 if you're going that route. Saves a ton, doesn't mix ammo, is more ammo efficient, and isn't dependent on the UAC for constancy. That said, I'd still rather go dual UAC5, which means the 3rd slot is pretty useless. I've yet to find a build I liked on the 9B that I couldn't do on the 9S, which means the 9S is better (for me at least).

Triple AC/2? That's pretty much the reason I sold the 9S and kept the 9B. Granted, I typically only run it with an AC/20 anyway.

At the time, I didn't care for the build over 2 UAC5s or the AC20. Now? I'd rather run a BLR-1D if I'm going 3 AC2.

Not a bad point, but it doesn't have Jump Jets and everyone knows Jump Jets make everything better.

I play the 3 AC2 Battlemaster like a Jager 4 AC2... carefully! It packs a punch - watch Proton's video. That guy is amazing.

While I like the idea of a Tier list - surely it would be better to put them into 'roles' as opposed to 'classes'. For example the DDC in a sniping team is next to useless, since it's a brawling mech through and through, whereas a Stalker-3F is pretty much the best sniping/antipoptart mech there is.. I also can't see how the Jager is even close to the 3D, that 'spoiler' on top pretty much ruins the mech as a sniper, but it works extremely well as a close fire support mech supporting a heavy brawl team. Same with the Muromets - useless in a sniper team, but bring it into a fire support role in a brawl config and the heavy ballistics loadout will shine. Also, whats the reasoning for having the Cicada as top tier?

Thanks for the update, it's always useful to check this thread. But where are the Orions?

Thank You CHRX for pointing out the missing Orions!

I placement them in Tier 2. Quite average - nothing great nor bad about them. Next list I'll update the heavy list more in detail.

Gman has been kind enough to add builds commonly used by top units, let's call it:
