Gotta say I kinda like art and approach. From Hell written in red a modified PGI bull in red and the 666 Ring and flames make for a very interesting paint job.

You people debating and arguing religion is also funny to me so mad props to PGI for making a controversial mech.

As a note bet it has 2 flamers on the torsos.

Nah, flamers would have a different look. Those are lasers in the side torsos, which you can tell by the disc shape points. If they were flamers, there would be a rectangle thing jutting out.

I don't see any flamers. The loadout looks like a nod to the JagerMech-III. The picture appears to show 2xPPC, 2xAC/2 (or AC/5's), and 2x ML (or some type of lasers) in the torso. http://www.sarna.net...i/JagerMech_III - And all I have to say is, religion is paradoxal and man-made thing and also the discussion on symbols, sorry if that offends anyone.

Anyone see a way to make a decent rifleman loadout without resorting to XL engine? (rifleman didn't have the best armor, as was the case with most stock mechs back in the day.)

You could make an exact duplicate of the Rifleman, without an XL Engine, if you so desired. It was also be better armored since the Jagermech is 65 tons as opposed to the Rifleman's 60 tons.

No, make it look like Knight Templar. White surcoat with red cross, bare steel head to resemble great helm, chain mail pattern on limbs. Perhaps Victor is suited best for this.

I also want to note that devil has an excuse of appearance on this Jagermech, because probably "Devil" is the nickname of this Jag's pilot from fluff (he was far from lawful good person and was obsessed with watching fires burning).
Yeah, in sharp contrast, the Knights Templar have a sterling reputation of honor and stalwart goodness.

Seriously? Nero? I don't even...

On topic:
Yes, the 'mech has diabolic connotations. Nero seemed to early Christians to be a direct messenger from the devil, owing to his harsh persecution of their religion. And in our society the number is linked with the idea of a diabolical agent.

But getting offended shows a lack of imagination. You can say that buying the 'mech makes you an agent of evil, but I don't buy it:

Maybe you just killed the devil and took his f-ing 'mech.

Some sources, though, including some mentioned above, portray him as an emperor who was popular with the common Roman people, especially in the East.[9] Some modern historians question the reliability of ancient sources when reporting on Nero's tyrannical acts.[10]

With 2 tons of AC-5 ammo for 2 ac-5s. It's awesome on tabletop but the rifleman's exact specification in MWO are terrible, as are most stock mechs. :) The armor is also sub par even with 5 more tons to work with.

Great, a 3rd type of Jager....with all the multitudes of potential mechs out there, why not something on a chassis we won't now be seeing for the 3rd time, Jager, BJ, and now this?

I admit it "looks" awesome, but c'mon man.

On Nero:
General bias against Nero seems to be well historically established, but we should remember that Tacitus starts his discussion of Nero with the aim of avoiding that bias. However we regard that, nothing changes the fact that Tacitus records the persecution of Christianity ("a mischievous superstition") as an admirable thing on account of their "odio humani" (Tac. Ann. 15.44). Christian writings themselves ought also not be dismissed, as they certainly were not on the side of the Patricians against Nero. The weight of historical evidence (and scholarly opinion) therefore is that Nero's persecutions of the Christians were a populist move in keeping with his general policies. The lesson of history that rulers popular among the majority group are not necessarily good ones is relevant here.

Probably off-topic here, however.

OT:
Looking forward to the Firebrand. "Devil Don" makes a good hero choice, given that most of the heroes we've had so far have been presented as noble (in both senses of the term).

Am I the only one who is pissed because this mech makes the Catapult K2 even more obsolete? The Firebrand seems to have the same layout for energy weapons, including those two in the arms, which have been the only reason to pick the K2 instead of the clearly superior Jagermech 6-S. On top of that, it also has at least 2 ballistics slots in the same location as the other Jagermechs. This smells very much like pay to win ...

Fix the Catapult before you make mechs like this!

Edit: And don't get me started about that "but the Catapult has a smaller side torso so it is better" ******** ...

It will partly depend on the Firebrand's handling characteristics compared to the K2's though. Lets wait and see, at least- this is one of the areas in which PGI has been pretty good.

a jagger and a cat have a totally different look and feel...
don't see why the cat is broken...

like the look of the firebrand - is probably too expensive for me to get it for full price, but will get it when on sale ;)

What he's saying is that the firebrand has arm energy AND ballistic slots, and can peek over hills just like the K2 can.
