T-bolt - 65 tons
Scorpion (or any Quad .. I love my quads.) - 55 tons

If given the ability of major refits.. It will have to depend of the visual.

While I highly enjoy assault mechs, I also have quite a few heavies and mediums that I favor as well. I do my best to have flexibility in my skillsets.

Well, the idea behind everyone using assault mechs was that using anything less than 100 tons meant one faces a three second death - 1) the opponent jumping from behind a hill, 2) shooting, and 3) the lag between the server recognizing you're dead. With better balancing, people will not necessarily have to use an assault mech to win. In fact, people will have the capacity to win in any mech, granted the rest of the team isn't a dud.

In MW3 & 4 I favored mediums and heavies, but I'm intrigued by what PGI has planned for Information Warfare. Scouting, spotting for indirect fire. I'm actually looking forward to piloting a light 'Mech with advanced electronics.

I am not usually a very big fan of lights and there are only a few I would ever consider using(unless my Clan(Wolf)call on me to do so). These are my preferred mechs in order from medium to assault:

Medium:Stormcrow, Shadow Cat
Heavy:Timber Wolf, Mad Dog, Linebacker, Warhammer, Marauder
Assault:Dire Wolf, Warhawk, Kodiak

The Timber Wolf is my primary and my two secondaries(depending mostly on the situation)are the Dire Wolf, Stormcrow, and Mad Dog.

There are many other mechs I like and some of them, like the Deimos, will most likely not be in the game and if they are it will be much later. I am not against assaults and actually love to use em...in the right circumstances. This also goes for mediums. However, my preferred class is Heavy, mostly because I love the Timber Wolf.

There are a couple mediums and heavies I really enjoy, but most of my favorite mechs are assaults.

The BattleMechs I like are mostly from the Light and Medium classes, with one or two from the Heavy class as well. However, I do like the Blood Asp -- especially the high-poly model from MWLL. See it here http://wiki.mechlivi...e/Blood_Asp.jpg and here .

Im a damn long ranger by love so any of the missile boats will work for me ... but if i gotta go light .. hell its ether moth or Locust ... (ill take jenner if its all they have ... ) never found a use for Assaults other then an easy time ripping out their back armor ... specially when you got the turning time of a dead slug XD.

... Well, if they made a completely inaccurate 100t Flea variant, I suppose I'd pilot an assault.

When I was ten, I read a 3rd book about Aidan Pryde and since then fall in love with TimberWolf. It went 10 years since then but still only IS called MadCat warms my heart.

Tho at the start of the game I wont be able to have it, before the clan invasion, so I'd love to pilot some Bushwacker or ShadowHawk, or if player will have to start his career from light 'Mech, I would choose Wolfhound.

unfortunately from what i am reading the only real missile boat is 70+ tons, so long range would have to be heavy but hell, your talking about dumping massive amounts of long range damage and crippling even the assault class before they reach you ( assuming your scouts do their jobs right )
Scout class I would love to see the locust take a roll, would even consider the fire moth for such a purpose.
Marauder would be about as heavy as i am willing to go, Did not like the way the atlas and the rest handled in the previous games.  Sure its great if you need to demolish a city, but a single assault can get torn apart by a lance of lights and mediums.
Though as some one pointed out, a lance of heavy/assault can pretty much shred anything if pulled off right, though those of us who are light an mediums lovers are used to this fact.   besides with real time information scouting who knows ... maybe they will bring the chameleon in for scouting :D

If its available I'd like to pilot a thunderbolt 5SS, but i can see myself piloting a Catapult, Griffen, Dervish or even a Valkyre if they become available.

a light scout equipped with a laser for laser guided air strikes would be pretty fun to run around in. Let your heavier armored teammates distract an enemy Assault or Heavy while you sneak around and paint them with the laser.

I admit, I love the large-and-in-charge assault 'mechs (the Battlemaster and Banshee are my favorites), but some missions do require speed and unobtrusiveness. Heavies are more versatile, especially those that are fast enough to hold their own against more agile mediums and lights. Yes, if there was a way I could get my hands on a Timber Wolf in this game, I'd go for it.

well timberwolf has some serious versitility but judging the time line i think it will be a while before we can get our hands on them -le sigh-
still ... im happy with a dedicated long range class type mech even if it is a heavy
