new patch is out, jj shake remains untouched
really?

by the amounts of complaints about it they should have just released a quick hotfix to scale down the shake to 25% and reduce the frequency just to see if that fixes the health issues people are having.

it could have been done in a matter of minutes.

instead they just announced that they are going to do it at some point and even after waiting 2 weeks on the next patch, still didnt follow up on it.

this is simply unacceptable.

i mean cmon, this thread has 50 pages, multiple similar complaints on each single one of them.

it is stickied and close to the top of the list. seems hard to believe that they are unaware of it.

not only that, its the biggest thread in this feedback forum.

it is clearly effecting a substantial amount of players in a negative way.

why does it not seem to be a priority to tackle this issue?

i understand that the devs have alot on their plates with the schedule they set for themselves.
i know a bit about game development myself and generally don't like it when people complain about little things without realising how much work goes into creating them.
i understand that balance in online games is a tough thing to manage as you can never make everyone happy no matter what you do. and i know how hard it is to put your heart into something and then have it torn apart by the web trolls.

i dont know your internal discussions about this, its hard for me to believe that you dont care
but how can you just leave that screenshake in there while its causing harm to people?

please release a hotfix.

Taken directly from Sarna.net
link here: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Jump_Jets

By harnessing the power of a 'Mech's fusion engine to superheat air or another suitable fluid, allow a BattleMech to briefly overcome gravity and rocket short distances over the battlefield.

Jump jets work in a similar, albeit more limited, fashion to the fusion rockets installed on Aerospace Fighters. Inside a magnetically shielded reaction chamber buried deep inside the 'Mech, an electron beam superheats a reaction mass and expels the expanding gases through nozzles located on the back of the 'Mech or in its legs.

In essence you are riding a miniature saturn V rocket into the air. That is not a smooth ride, add into that delicate tracking software and weapons mounted on gimbals and arms and you'd be lucky to hit near a barn. My take is stop crying, adapt. If it makes you sick, change your playstyle. Another option is to stop becoming focused solely upon the reticule. Forming an ocular lock like that in a shaking environment can make anyone sick.

For better or for worse, its in the game. Learn to deal with it. BTW, if you're piloting a light mech, leave off firing till after you release your jets. the aiming system will smooth out.

You say "Saturn V rocket", I say "jet pack".

I have tried to deal with this, but I just can't take it anymore. Time for a break until PGI removes this random violent shake. No more money and no more playing. It was fun while it lasted. RIP MWO 6/4/2013.

most people are upset because they have difficulty aiming, not because of vertigo (stop playing on a 50" monitor 3 feet away).

Guess what? thats WHY there is shake. get used to it.

Keep the cross hair shake and weapon fire spread, remove the screen shake.

Still no fix for screen shake? - screw you PGI - can't play this game w/o getting a headache, I'd rather you made it you can't shoot unless your feet were on the ground - this is beyond stupid. Well over 1/2 the mechs I have cannot be played for more than a couple games atm, guess you really don't want people to play this P.O.S.

Wow your 40 friends must be so godlike and perfect in every way your word is absolute, and the best sample for every statistic, you sound like someone I read about from the 30s and 40s....

So when are the others from your perfect race going to turn up and troll too?

I am invoking Godwin's Law...you have now summarily lost the debate. Thanks for playing! :D

To be honest, it is not "evidence"...it is "claims". Some may be true, I imagine very few given how popular the poptart meta was, but some.

Just a quick FYI for everyone. We will investigate the reduction of screen shake to help those experiencing motion sickness and will try to reduce it to bearable levels. The targeting shake however will remain the same for the foreseeable future.

-Paul

That's perfect, looking forward to that adjustment.

Zeus, that requires an ability to read and comprehend written language and if the individual you quoted had that ability, they would be slightly more educated than an average red brick and wouldn't have posted the drivel they posted.

Plain wrong, good Sir. Havent been affected by that puny bit o´shake, even with close to 3promille bloodalcohol, I tested that the last time I was properly wasted.

Good for you Mr. should be placed in a pod and shot into space because being knocked around like a peanut in a soup can being dropped off a tall tower doesn't bother you not none at all no sir, because it bothers the living hell out of alot of us.

I have abandoned all jumpjet mechs in general at this point.

same here sadly my spider is mothballed and any other mech that had JJ's I strip em off and add HS or more weapons.
fun and exciting part of the game ruined just so "brawlers" can circle each other at 150 meter's and miss till they overheat.......

I've post this before but i will post it again here, the game just not fun with JJ being like this.

SOLUTION

Remove screen shake and cross hair shake BUT keep the random weapon fire spread while jump-jet is active

When JJ is active the cross should expand and the go back to normal size when jj is inactive
Posted Image

When cross hair expand

-Weapon fire randomly within the cross hair
-Weapon (both ballistic and laser or the combination of the 2) will not fire at same aiming point twice.
-Tag laser count as weapon. If u leave Tag on,it will not fire at the same point as Tag laser pointing.

(But with laser,it will fire at 1 aiming point within the expand cross hair not shaking around so you can adjust your aim while jj is active.

when u release JJ cross hair will go back to normal size and function as normal.

BUT this will make pop-tart easier because u can estimate where cross hair gonna go back to normal size.
so...Make it 0.5 sec or more from the time u releasing JJ to the time cross-hair shrink back to normal size. This should make the window for jump sniping smaller.
