Dont be mad at me because you quote MW and BT games you never played and have no understanding on me.

not mad, simply hoping to avoid bogging down the debate with your ignorance.

Blinkn explained (exposed)
1) Post something I find after a 5 second search on Google or you tube
2) Post it on the forums declaring your self right with out looking it over or understanding it
3) ignore when you are exposed as a fraud because you talk out your ***.

I am seriously starting to wonder if this is just some bizzare graphics card related thing that is specific to me, or what...

When I fire SSRMs, I can CLEARLY SEE them Bukkake-ing all over the enemy mech: not all of them, and not all the time, but it is far from ALL CT ALL THE TIME...

I can see it being an issue with more compact mechs (which are their intended targets anyway), but they're planning to address that...

Oh they don't hit CT all the time - they just splash damage into the CT on just about every shot.

A leg hit, for example, hits the joint between the leg and the CT - and splashes the CT with damage.
A side torso hit hits the joint between side torso and CT - and splashes the CT with damage.
Only the ones that hit arms won't splash the CT - but they will splash the side torso.

This was explained in a dev post that I can't be arsed finding for you; it is supposed to be fixed one of these days with the moving of the SSRM hit location to the middle of the bone making up the location instead of the joint.

Until that fix is in, you'll continue to see 'mechs hit by streaks with yellow armour and a missing CT.

Is that even in? I don't remember any ETA on this.

They have effectively removed splash damage in the interim....

No, it's not in yet, hence the "supposed to be fixed one of these days", and "until that fix is in" parts of the post.

Here's the relevant part of the dev post I was alluding to above (emphasis mine):

Quote

S-SRMs are undergoing a revamp on their targeting solutions. There are 7 bones that are randomly selected by each SSRM missile. Right now, those bones are located at joints rather than center-points for each of the components. We are looking at changing that so the bones are placed further apart and more toward the center of each component. We are also looking at weighting the torso bones in a manner that make them not a priority for SSRMs. For example, all components would have a weight of 1.0. The Torsos however would take a weighting of 0.35(LT) 0.3(CT) 0.35(RT). The reasoning behind this weighting is that if all the torsos had an equal value of 1, each missile would have a 3/7 chance of going for a torso. Any sort of torso twist/movement would increase the chance of a missile in flight to hit the CT (since it’s the biggest component on a Mech) if they were to target a side torso.

Yes. The way the SSRM fixes were described by paul shortly after the last patch. (AKA the patch in which nothing happened save movement mechanics) it was stated that a new model was finished, but had yet to be reviewed by paul in time for the pipeline. Hopefully, it should be present with the August 2nd patch at the earliest. I can only hope they manage to squeeze it in with the July #2 patch, but that is unlikely.

I've found myself unwilling to play more than a handful of matches every day. It's simply too frustrating to pilot small chassis in the current meta, and I simply don't enjoy heavies or assaults. Heres hoping August 2nd will be that "big things patch" we were promised but never received.

(PS, I'm sure paul deserved that vacation, but it feels a little irresponsible to have taken one at this point. As someone who has worked in banking and done 80+ hour weeks during large turnovers, I find it hard to legitimize vacations during a time like this. It's the sort of thing you take a month after release, not before. Especially with a set release date. *Shrug* I'm not Paul and he knows the needs of PGI more than I.)

we did this little dance before and when i asked you to find a quote of me saying that AFTER providing you with a complete list of threads that we have both posted in, you ran and hid.

that one isn't one of mine, all you have to do to make me eat my words is find a direct quote
here ya go:

just because i am impatient here are all of the threads that contain posts from both of us: is there anything else you need? 26 in total.

edit: double checked and replaced each thread link with a link directly to my first post in each thread, for ease of operation.

ok CancR here is everything you could need to prove me wrong. i have done 90% of the work for you.

re-edit: the first 2 seem to be broken and just link to the thread but the others seem to work fine.

this is where we left off last time. there have been several posts in between, but if i had ever given you anything in one of those i suspect you would be spamming it everywhere and possibly turn it into your signature.

on the other hand you insist:

you never saw what happened when microsoft assaulted mechwarrior. if you had seen you would realize how incredibly absurd this statement is.

things mech assault had that aren't in this game:
  • shields
  • ammo pick ups
  • health pick ups
  • one big HP bar
things mech assault didn't have
  • sectored damage
  • (i think) ability to modify mechs
and i am sure there are many more awful discrepancies that i have blocked out over time.

you are a moron.

i do far more research than you do.

Completely incorrect. Light mechs are an essential part of disruptive tactics, drawing fire away from their teammates and threatening weakened armor. But with the current streak implementation, any enemy with streaks will kill a light or medium within a few volleys, destroying CT and leaving all other armor mostly intact. The simple presence of streaks fully negates lights and mediums in combat in the same way ECM used to fully negate streaks in combat.

Streaks must be reigned in, or they will continue to make small chassis gameplay pointless in their presence.

Does disruptive mean you have to be in front of them? The back armor is easier to shoot at you know ^_^

The range of seismic (400m) far outranges the weapons a light mech typically carries. (270m)

Please don't name and shame in this thread, it's an attempt to be a serious discussion v SSRM hyperaccuracy.

Not a problem when they are busy shooting the other mechs, seismic or not. If you sneak on an assualt mech alone, chance is you will die any way, SSRM or not.
