I have already put in a ticket to have the phoenix package refunded and fully expect them to return that money. As far as the other money goes I would disagree. We are beta testing, we are paying for a final product. A product that they have fundamentaly altered in a way they claimed they never would. PGI marketed this game as 1st person and up until now they maintained that we would not have to drop with people playing 3pv. Thats what I paid for. Now at launch that will not be an option. PGI despite saying otherwise when collect money has decided that everyone will have to play with players that can use 3pv.
Now when a person is unturthful its a lie. When a company does it its called fraud. I have no desire to play in or with players in 3pv. If PGI had this in the game from the begining or had stated that I would have to play in or with players in 3pv I would not have purchesed anything in the game.
In my view we have been the victim of fraud. PGI constantly lied to us while taking our money. When this game is no longer in beta on the 17th. We will not have what we paid for, what PGI stated we would have. That’s fraud. Pure and simple. They sold me an apple and handed me an orange.

I decided I got enough enjoyment to justify my founder purchase. I always thought the game was good overall. I eagerly await Sept. 17, hoping they will correct the 3pv flaw. Until then, no playing. Will continue to monitor the situation. Hopefully PGI can learn from Nixon...it's not the crime that gets you, it's the coverup.

Did insist on PP refund though. My trust in them is nonexistent.

Bill, sorry bud but you know not what you speak of. I could very well be wrong, it certainly wouldn't be the first time, but I imagine that the veterans of the franchise that also helped kickstart this game by purchasing founder packs and participating in the closed beta got us where we're today. These same veterans will give this game so much more than people that are clueless about the BattleTech Universe and as with any game if you're a newbie it takes time to be a decent player. So, MW:O may have a higher learning curve than most but that certainly doesn't justify the 3rd person point of view, in my narrow minded personal opinion, to better the community as a whole.

I'll give 3rd person view quite some time to pass final judgement and see what truly transpires, but I imagine it's the veteran's and, or people that have played this game since it's multi-player inception way back when that got us where we're today - not the newcomers.

of course the founders allowed the game to get to where it is today, and if they stay, will be there to help push it tomorrow. pgi does not want to push out these players. making the game more accessible needs to happen. even if this means ******* off some people for a short time. do not be naive, business is business.

if pgi had unlimited funds...

Well i asked for a phoenix-refund. If the 3PV - fiasco gets resolved and we get a statment why the community was lied to, i will happily buy again.

I dont accept lies on my kids, or friends... i surely dont accept then on business contacts.

What I see is,
PGI just intentionaly lied to all of the player base:
1st lie - there will not be 3PV, just buy our founder program.... - people bought it.
2nd lie - we're introducing 3PV, but you may stay calm, you can play only 1PV special games.... - well, I guess they collected enough money to spit in our faces again.

Oh come on now its a training tool right? Full grown people cant figure out how to drive these complex war machines, yet there are kids who have no issues driving these even one a mech was made for recently.

Is there no pride in learning how to accomplish something now?

Wow people, just wow... First off I see complaints about the MGs and LBX nerf. The MGs needed it; we all wanted a buff to them so because of this it the Devs. figured out that the crits needed a reduction to compensate for the increased damage that the crits would allow. The LBX is one of the most hated guns of all time because it cannot follow the current Meta of pinpoint damage. They decide to make it better because of everyone said how much it sucked. So you people call this a nerf!?

Second of all the things to say and do everyone is bitching about 3rd person being this OP feature but everyone seemed to forget that we as a community raised $122,180 to donate to the Canadian Cancer Research. At $10 dollars a person that means 12,218 people stepped up to the plate to do a good deed. I salute everyone here that either made that contribution, paid directly to the cancer research of their choice, or could not but wanted to. You all are Heroes.

As for 3rd person, I have yet to have my *** handed to me because someone “cheated” used 3rd person and out maneuvered me. If that is the case then everyone using the seismic sensor is cheating. All in all, 3rd person is not as OP as everyone thinks; it does not have autoaim features, nor does it give any one person any more advantage over 1st person. Yes poptarts can sit behind a hill and aim before the jump but they would also miss the enemy flanking them or sitting behind them because they lose their map.
  • Does it need work? Yes
  • Does it give any real advantage over 1st? No
  • Do I wish that we had a 1st only queue? Yes
  • Can I live with this? Yes

This feature needed to come into the game. Most people do not have the patience to sit there and continually have their ***** handed to them until they learn the game and until UI 2.0 there will not be any training. Once MWO loses new players, and is just surviving off the current players, then that will mean the end of MWO. No more new maps, no more new mechs, and no more MW franchise for a long time to come, if ever.

I'm not even going to bother complaining about how pgi clearly has gone back on their previous statements about how we would never have to play in games with third person view. I'm not even going to bother seeing if they have tried to retroactively remove those posts from the forum. Pgi does not care what I think our want out of this game. Message received. I no longer care.

Given that they arent even smart enough to delete the 3rd person thread where they said we'd never have to fight in the same battle with p[pl with 3pv,,, lol

The fact that they havent deleted that thread shows how little they truly care

Remember that this game is still in BETA. Now, Come September I will be upset if there aren't 1st and 3rd person queues, but until the actual launch, keep everything calm. There is no way for them to get enough real data about 3rd person with separate queues currently. I find 3rd person very distracting and I can't aim worth ****. I can't tell how low hung my weapons are compared to the terrain, and I sure as hell can't jump and strafe worth a damn.

I think most people posting aggressive harsh or offending comments have no intention of "clearing this situation" since they've basically given up on the game already.

I've sadly been supporting the developers this whole year but now am truly disappointed. 3pv did not even do what they said they wanted it to do (see legs), and they didn't even correct flaws already seen on test servers before pushing the patch out. This patch reset all weapons settings needlessly, and crashed out my framerate. Fine, I'll seriously cut back on my mwo time and get my life back. Thanks for nothing PGI. I'm sorry I supported you. You didn't even achieve what you wanted to do with 3pv and now I'm not sure what direction you are going to take this game.

Splitting the queue would literally divide the community and make it so that there are less people to play. Completely detrimental to the longevity of the game, which has been proven with games like Red Orchestra 2.

I fully expect a split queue to be patched in at some point by PGI.

Yes, I agree. However, they just forced me to play with a feature I don't like, when they told us VERY SPECIFICALLY that we wouldn't have to! This just goes to show that 3rd person just overall was a horrid idea that has already divided the playerbase.

the problem isnt that full grown adults cant do it; its that Russ' (I think) 12 year old son cant (But 5 year old Sarah could YMMV).
