A PROMISE MEANS EVERYTHING, BUT ONCE IT'S BROKEN SORRY MEANS NOTHING!

So true in this situation....

In the launched game, of course. This is beta, where it's being tested. Suck it up.

Where exactly do they state that difference? Quote appreciated, or ****.

This excuse has been worn so thin it's kind of childish to even mention it.

It's LESS THAN ONE MONTH to release. "It's still beta" doesn't fly anymore.

Also, my apologies for expecting them to keep their word EVEN IN A BETA when people are paying them REAL DOLLARS to play the game. If this were closed beta and everything was being reset etc, I wouldn't care. And who are you to tell me to "suck it up"? Get over yourself. I've paid more money to PGI than I did on the last 3 AAA titles I wanted to get because I love the franchise and still love this game. Counter my points line by line if you want but just saying "suck it up" makes you look foolish.

And finally, the best way they could have tested the appeal of this was to do it with split queues and see who plays what. But they lost that golden opportunity to gauge it right here and now.

Yes because launch will feature such amazing differences as... erm... an uglier UI and... uh...

Russ, not only do you look like an ******* with these twitter posts, but you are making the entire PGI staff look bad too.

This only solidifies how much you to don't give a rats a$$ about the community.

Maybe it results of aggressive, harsh, offending comments, that doesn't help to clear this situation. Think about this and think before writing comments...

I'm not a fan of the combined 1PV/3PV queue. I would appreciate seperated queues for 1PV only (yes, they promised it :D ), but this shitstorm is ridiculous and I am ashamed for 90% of the "community" postings in this thread.

I think most people posting aggressive harsh or offending comments have no intention of "clearing this situation" since they've basically given up on the game already.

As far as PGI:s reaction to those comments goes though, it's an unfortunate reality that if are any kind of a public figure on the internet or in gaming communities you will get tons of hate and rage directed at you. The difference is that when you work for a company you cannot stop being professional just because your customers(or often people who aren't even paying customers anymore, or never were) are inpolite.

hey,

now we have 3pv (which totally sucks because I only get to see the ugly side of my mech... but i dig it anyway) can you perhaps start working on a bird's eye or god view thingy?

Like if you added rockets to the little camera drone behind our mechs so that it could fly higher up in the air extending the current view. You could put it on cd or something so the hardcore crew don't moan too much about advantages.. or maybe allow the drone to be shot down completely?

that would be sweet, cheers!

It really doesn’t matter if you think 3pv gives an advantage or not. When PGI initially marketed this game they stated that it would be 100% 1st person sim. They took money. Later down the road PGI said that they where looking into 3pv for cretin game modes, hey no problem we will still have the game we paid for. Then PGI decided well we are going to have 3pv in all game modes. Huge community backlash and they state that they will set it up so that customers can still drop in 1st person only. At this point we still have the game that we have what we paid for. Now we have 3pv and nothing else. We no longer have the game we paid for.
Now if that is the kind of game PGI wants to create fine. But if you are going to sell me an apple and hand me an orange don’t be surprised when I want my money back. I think PGI should refund all my money. From the initial founders pack straight through to the last Hero Mech I bought. After all as the Kool aid drinkers keep stating this is a beta. If half way through beta PGI decided to create a different game than they initially sold then they should be on the hook to refund those players that dont want a different game.
Id love to see an ambitious attorney start a class action suit to recover some of the communities funds. Because at this point all I have to look forward to is this game dying so that someone else can get the ip or development on MWLL can start again.

I will do my best to remain faithful, thanks for all the good stuff, try and fix the bad stuff. Do it before all the console sh*t comes out this year or I may get distracted. Losing a 300$ a year customer would upset me but hey, do what you want.

Riddle me this, Batman.....

PGI has publicly acknowledged that there is a problem with the hitboxes on the smaller mechs..namely the Spider and Raven. They have even gone so far as to say that not only are they aware that the problem exists, they plan to fix it once they've determined what the issue is.

Granted, they haven't done anything to implement a fix yet....so, I think it's safe to assume they aren't putting much in the way of time or resources into resolving the issue.

So, what do the players do? Well, like every other time we've seen a problem crop up in the game, we find a way to work around the issue.

Most uf us have figured out that you can still hit the little buggers with MGs or LBX-10s. My guess why those work has more to do with a randomization of both hits and crits since so many projectiles are being put out into an area...but, whatever, they both still worked.

NOW...PGI decides that instead of fixing the hitbox issues with the lights, they're going to NERF both the MGs and the LBX-10s as far as taking out the glitchy mechs are concerned.

I mean, seriously? You know there's something broken in the game and you're going out of your way to make sure it STAYS broken? Dude. It's almost as if the government is running the patches.

3rd person view is the best thing happened in MWO for a long time :D if i see a mech useing 3PV i can sneak behind him and kill it in seconds bechaise he cant see me on his map XD it helps a lot good funn my the time to draw and put away the camera could be longer like +1 second ;) i would love to see this :D
now i can runn from cover to cower behind enemy line then i see the camera bum 3 PPC in the back fading behind cover. And wait a few second, then run up close hugging his arss, and alpha strike!!!!!! XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
i killing 2 or 3 guy this way in a match now. its so funny!!!

sadly 3PV is usless the camera is way to close so new players cant see they legs so its just usless ...................

For now I think to stay in MWO inactive until early 2014, because of this outrageous development blunders and jugglery.

To be fair, you've had a year of mediocre(but better than most shooters or you wouldn't be here) gaming... more time than many AAA titles would receive, so I don't feel that PGI owes us cash back for founders packs or MC spent in the time.

However, there are a LOT of people who ponied up for phoenix packages on the specific, recent word of the developers that there will always be a 1PV only queue to play. Those packages haven't been distributed, no one has played with any of toys (taken them out of the box) and I don't think it's unreasonable for people to request that money be returned given outright lie about content that were direct responses to questions that led people to buy those packages.

I have already put in a ticket to have the phoenix package refunded and fully expect them to return that money. As far as the other money goes I would disagree. We are beta testing, we are paying for a final product. A product that they have fundamentaly altered in a way they claimed they never would. PGI marketed this game as 1st person and up until now they maintained that we would not have to drop with people playing 3pv. Thats what I paid for. Now at launch that will not be an option. PGI despite saying otherwise when collect money has decided that everyone will have to play with players that can use 3pv.
Now when a person is unturthful its a lie. When a company does it its called fraud. I have no desire to play in or with players in 3pv. If PGI had this in the game from the begining or had stated that I would have to play in or with players in 3pv I would not have purchesed anything in the game.
In my view we have been the victim of fraud. PGI constantly lied to us while taking our money. When this game is no longer in beta on the 17th. We will not have what we paid for, what PGI stated we would have. That’s fraud. Pure and simple. They sold me an apple and handed me an orange.
