SRM2 buff is a surprise. Hope we will have a use on the smaller mechs now instead of SRM6. More diversitiy = Great !
PPC tweaks = Great !
The community demanded a "simple" fix rather than "overly complicated fluff" for the 6 months of PPC-warrior.
Here it is finally.
Now we will have some diversity rather than only PPC/Gauss everywhere.
With these tweaks we now have a directfire medium-long range weapon (PPC), a long range sniper (Gauss) that both need more skill for short range and a All-rounder (ERPPC) that can be used in all ranges, but is limited in number and rate of fire due to the heat.
No more 3 all-round weapons. They all got their purpose now. People asked for the vision of PGI for the purpose of the weapons.
Sounds perfect imho.
Fixes for HSR and Kintaro = Great !
Adv. Zoom = Great !
Tutorial = Great !
Logged in simply to "like" this post - folks - we have been asking for these points as a general whole. Different weapons for different roles - not one size fits all! Since they cannot make minimum range hit penalties work for reg PPC then this is a fair trade off to try at least so folks have to rethink their builds. People who have a hard time with this are the min/maxers who cannot create a balanced approach and only want 1 weapon system to worry about - preferably all on Alpha.
TRY the new patch - PROVIDE REAL FEEDBACK afterwards and let the game continue to grow. This is NOT the last time they are going to tweak these weapons so settle down on the QQ!
Thanks, PGI - get CW implemented and I may buy those packages so I have more to grind for than just regular CBills.

You're damn right.
After plumping down $15 to test the waters of this 'free to play' game, playing hundreds of games and building up 3 Cecada variants that suited my gameplay style and gave me the greatest range of play styles, it feels like its all be wasted. That is not a way to encourage new players!
I didn't see PPC or even gauss being particularly over-powered, sure I got downed by them, but only due to my own stupidity or from being on a clueless public team. As for using them, on a medium 2*ERPPC can't kill anything in one-shot, not unless they are severely damaged already. It was fun to sneak behind enemy lines and cause so disarray with them though and at a push could help in close range combat, though running away is far better. So while I could accept that maybe they needed some tweeking from the general community, what they've done seems to be way overboard.
The problem for me is if this really has nerfed PPC, then two of my 4 hard-worked for and paid real money for mechs have become useless, or will necessitate changing my play style to the deterrent of the team (i.e. staying far away from battles, not scouting, taking pot shots to farm assist c-bills). Neither of which I like and is highly off-putting in terms of sinking any more money into this game.

Why not just increase the heat first and see if that "fixes" the problem that didn't exist anyways?

PPC fixes? Absolutely perfect. (with the exception of figuring somehow not allowing the PPC to even fire under 90m, to save newbs the heat.)
SRM refire changes. Good. Let's get the SSRM and SRM damage sync'd up again at whichever value.

Also I'm glad to see the tutorial made it here at last. Hopefully you guys will manage to complete the whole tutorial before the launch.
Now if only they remove ghost heat and give us the hardcore queue, I'll finally buy some MC.

Now we only need:
- Lobbies
- Options for games to enable/disable 3pv, stock or select tech bases.

And then I realized it really wasn't much of a change to game play at all, just these minor tweaks.
How hard could it be to give us an FFA mode?
Or a King of the Hill mode?
Or SOMETHING besides capture one base or capture three base.
Base ball is getting old.
