Wow, way to discourage others from playing this game (Jerks). No revenue means no development. Thanks for ruining my game.

MWO - "A community of **** heads"

(Not trolling, just annoyed at the forums, I think I will take a break from posting)

You people make me ill.

None of the reviewers ruin the game. That lies solely on the staff of PGI. But hey, just remember, it's the silent majority that matter........

Stopped playing weeks ago, gave it a 1, because it doesn't explode my computer or cause any of my family members to die on startup.

However it's just a MOBA whose graphics get progressively worse via the use of FailEngine 3 and devs who don't even know how to develop an UI. All we're paying for is the education of former Half-Life 2 modders and the design of Duke Nukem Forever's multiplayer. This thang is vaporware, baby, and the internet and potential victi--I mean customers ought to know about it.

But Mystere, Syllogy, Pada Vinson! Unite and say how this game with one game mode and 40 dollar stock mechs is amazing and how we're entitled for thinking the devs have literally missed every single target they've made . Yup, we're the naive brats. Spare us.

Yes, because this game had a $260 million budget.

Depends on what you think as a failure. I think it already failed big time.

Stop trying to sweeten it up. I don't care if it's not completed yet. I didn't want PGI to lie and **** upon me, and I wanted them to give me kind of game they promised.

That's how (obviously) many feel. I feel that what is there is fun, if incomplete and unpolished. I also feel that the game really just needs more development time. Yes, it was wrong of PGI to promise things they ought not to have...but again, two years is really not a long dev. time, and many people I've noticed have little patience. We live a bit too much in the instant gratification society (myself included).

I think the game should not have gone to full launch yet. The remainder of 2013 will be critical for this game. It will prove to us if PGI is truly going to finish the game they started or if they and IGP intend to "take the money and run", and quietly drop support for the game. I'm rooting for the former, but am genuinely concerned about the latter.

A lot of developers have bonuses and such tied to metacritic scores. I wonder if PGI does. Maybe taking a hit to the pocketbook would get through to their top brass more clearly than player feedback.

Yup, it will be interesting to see if the critics score comes anywhere close to WoT.

Also notice the last critic score for WoT was in 2012 most in 2011, wonder what it would rate now?

User scores mean very little, i've never looked at any of them when using metacritic.

Surely there's a lesson to be learned rather than just trying to take the moral high ground, looking down your nose at anyone that's annoyed or frustrated about the way this game has developed?

People vent in certain ways and I don't think I've seen too much from the Devs to really help deal with it except to add fuel to the fire. The vocal minority of people making the comments include people that have supported the game the most with their buy-in to the founders programs and any other MC they may have purchased. I find it hard to believe that there's a silent majority who have spent money on this game and never come to the forums, even if it's just to read.

I will admit that it can be tiresome reading about the same complaints and disatisfactions over and over but what else are they supposed to do aside from put forward their opinions and do everything they can to make their point?

I don't post a lot, I no longer play a lot and I'm disappointed with the progress on MWO.

These days, sometimes the forum is more entertaining than playing the game...

No kidding, they are upset with PGI because the content was slowed, so they go and promote that the game is bad. Resulting in less people wanting to play this game, which means less money for devlopment/hookers.

WRONG!

THIS is an example of why we're upset:

Missed deadlines don't bother me. I know how it goes. Small studio woes don't bother me. I also know how that goes.

Blatantly lying to people and trolling them on twitter? I might not be voting 0 but I can't remotely blame someone who does.

EDIT: Also seriously it took them almost a year to make 15 minutes worth of changes in the XML file and fix PPCs, while creating ludicrously overcomplicated stuff like Ghost Heat that causes more problems than it fixes.

EDIT 2: Yes it went away in the 12 mans after this horrendous backlash, but they're still wasting time making it, fixing it, etc. - time that's much slower than it should be - instead of, I don't know, hiring any competent freaking flash programmer off Newgrounds to get the UI done.

... and again I can't stress that Russ & Co's attitude on twitter and when confronted with these questions is a good excuse to get angry, too.

User scores mean little without comparison to the Critics score. User reviews IMO tend to be low in general due to reasons outside of an honest game review being included, and seeing so many zero scores just underlines that point.

I'd give the game a 7.5/10 as it sits right now. Good graphics/sound, fun gameplay elements, some balance issues/bugs, serious UI re-work needed, although the more important negative aspect is not much longevity or community with the current iteration once you get the mechs you are interested in fully unlocked. It's not a surprise, certainly shouldn't be to PGI/IGP, but when there isn't even a concept of a "guild" yet, that's going to be a factor with reviews. Granted we're getting lots of these things in the next series of patches, although the reviews and first impressions for some are happening now.

MW:O is still a good game, and if you were to pick up the game right now without having read anything prior or been in the beta, you'd think so too. Not the greatest game of all time, but still pretty damn good. It's all the early access knowledge that clouds peoples thoughts about where the game sits right now and where they think it should be. People that were expecting a huge change between the game on the 16th and the game today just had flat out unrealistic expectations.

We'll see what sort of backlash happens when (not if) some plans change with Star Citizen.

Why is it you come out of your hole on days like today. Sheesh don't see you around ever yet here you are today. Go rile up Star Citizen members. I don't think one thing has ever come positive from you in regards to MWO.

I rile one very specific star citizen member up all the time. His name is [ANONYMOUS], it's great. My hobbies aside, I come out to these forums to watch it become more distilled in it's golden flavor and to experience the delicious taste of schadenfreude as this year long train crash screeches to a halt, miles from the station.

I've said nice things about the game, but they were rare and they weren't recent.

I'm not all that happy with how the game has plugged along, but I still do love the core gameplay. If they would of just built something around that in the last year and a half I would of been ecstatic. I have dropped around $200 bucks on the game which is actually more than I've spent on any game in such a short period of time. It's not surprising that people are slamming it on Metacritic given what was promised and what was delivered.

To call them kids or whatever is also pretty juvenile. These people all dropped a large about of money, GTA V will be 60 bucks in comparison, and feel that they have some sense of ownership in the game cause they do. I could of bought over three AAA titles for the same amount or 40 games on steam. You want to keep these people happy as they are the ones bankrolling this....

One other thing about the internet is generally you will only have extreme opinions. No one gets up and says I have indifferent/measured thoughts and I wish to share my reasonable views with others! Lucky I have a forum such as Metacritic to share my wisdom! You get two kinds of views in comments sections tinfoil hats and Kool-Aid drinkers sadly.
