Im sure they just need money to finish 2.0 then on our way to clan mechs from 2.0 their will be another expensive offer. i was blown away after buying Phoenix overlord that it unlocked another pricey tier, though i was not interested in those 2 mediums. It is ruff when you get, ahead of yourself, and i can tell they are way ahead of them self, why don't they release some of the software that they use then some avid fans that actually would have fun making maps etc, do it for free, then of course pgi would polish but that would save time and money. they need to focus on saving money, not making more with ridiculous offers (when i saw clan mechs for that much money "i thought to myself do i get founder Title with that cause that's pretty much what you are doing laying the foundation so they can keep the game running"

They have no shortage of funding. Remember they have IGP support. IGP is a publisher, they receive funding from them. Also, they mentioned way back in phoenix that they'd have their mech team working on clan mechs with the buffer the phoenix pack created. Since the team that makes the mechs and implements them is NOT the same as the team that works on UI or CW, there is no overlap, and resources are not being taken away from UI development or CW development.

Well that's not very fair, you actually have to give RSI a chance to release a BETA before you can call them on empty promises.

It is $210 to pre-order the TimberWolf, but you are also getting a total of 21 mechs for that amount.. Really, that's $10 a mech, granted every three are the same chassis but different variants of .. But as stated earlier, if someone has the disposable income, then that's up to them. Looks as to me that we can also just wait and purchase like all the other mechs.

It's $30 a 'Mech. Or $70 a 'Mech if you just want the Timber Wolf. Or $210 a 'Mech, because it's three identical Timber Wolfs. Wolves. Whatever.

21 mechs for 210 dollars

210/21 = 10

If you just want the timberwolf, wait til it comes out for cbills, or hope that PGI adds to/changes the package.

Well, at least my favorite mech, the Summoner, is less expensive, so at least I can see the bright side of this. Despite the cost, maybe I could get this for my birthday. But I'm still staying away from the gold pack. However, I do hope that the prices do get lowered for each tier like Phoenix.

I might buy a gold kit fox, I am not sure if I will get a package though. I actually like waiting a month toget the next one...if I want it.

Would you really wait 13 months for the Timber Wolf? 7 months after other people? I'm just not patient enough to do that.

I am of course assuming that the mech's will be released 1 per month in the order of cost first as the Phoenix Mech's are.

10$ for one mech is too freaking much to begin with. Especially for additional variants.
Compare it to League of Legends. Mechs are champs, variants are skins. On top of that MW:O even has it's own set of skins with all the lore house, merc and clan units!
LoL prices are reasonable. MW:O prices are crazy, and the fact that people are throwing 500$ or more at this game, even before it is somewhat finished, is quite mind boggling tbh.

MWO is on the steep end of pricing, but it seems to have worked for them.

He's not lying about anything. The approach they're using preserves variants and adds in freedom to alter hardpoints, but not like before, where it was quite simply complete freedom in every way without any logical limitations what-so-ever.

preserve varients... for clan omnis. let the rediculous sink in.

and the complete freedom in every way without any logical limitations what-so-ever belongs to raven ac20 stalker ppc catapult gauss snipers and dual ac20 whackers. yep they let IS customisation go bonkers and reign it in with stupidity like GH and butcher the artwork with rediculous tack ons to justify it and now clans are being restricted and nerfed to hell.

it's an bass ackwards universe this one.

It has been said before, but bears repeating.
Too F'in Expensive.

Anyone else feeling like your wallet is being fleeced while we wait, wait, and wait some more for DX11, CW, UI 2.0. Instead of trying to sell us more stuff we won't get for 6 months (who knows if the game will still be live then??) when promised game play improvements get delayed yet again.
These are the greatest points against putting more money into this game...doubt about the game still being live by then in particular. I'm noticing less and less experienced pilots in game, along with the current stale gameplay; late features, said/implied to be here much sooner; and seemingly desperate cash grab packages; I don't know that it really seems in the best state at the moment. The recent developer update gives me a hint of hope though.

I think the prices are a bit rich, but some chump will pay it...and if the game lasts that long, don't be suprised if you see some non-dev gold clanners running around next year.

Here here. i love the game but with this blatent money grab either they are clueless as to how to run a microtransation game, or they know something we dont about its life expectancy and are cashing in.

Would I pay $240 for the top pack? Yes.

Am I going to buy the pack? No.

Battletech, and the MechWarrior series of games, has always been about immersion for me. It's why the old MW2/3/4 planetary leagues were great - you were fighting for more than K/D. You were fighting for a planet or a city or a cause. MWO has none of this. It's as if they developed the mechanics of the game, but didn't actually get what it's all about. There is no feel.

The biggest part of the whole MW experience is missing because there is no community warfare. There's no draw to pull you back.

What I really don't understand is if a bunch of completely unpaid community members could create planetary leagues, which gave a purpose and a reason for individual battles, why is it a company such as PGI seems incapable of doing the same?

Create a decent community warfare meta game, give us a reason to play, and for those of us that like it a bit of a reason to role-play, and I'll give you my $240. But without that, MWO will continue to be a game I play from time to time for a few rounds, then put down again - and why would I spend $240 on that?

To those people who say that they can buy a console game for around the $20-$60 range. Yes you can. However let me ask you this. How many of those games are you playing beyond the 6 month timeframe? How many of those games are either sitting on a shelf/in a box gathering dust/sitting on you hard drive never getting played? How many did you take to you local games store to trade in for another game? MWO is still around and there's a LOT of Founders still around, 2 YEARS LATER! I've been here since closed beta. I'll still be around when the dust of the first wave of the Clan invasion settles

And if you are like me it's because you are still waiting to see how the game is going to look once it is released for real. ;)

Enough of the NOSTALGIC WHINING. (look up the word NOSTALGIC on Google) i have dealt with this in searching for many games to recreate childhood or something i once had it just doesn't work.

The thing people need to realize about this game, is it is an MMO, their is no problem with this. This game is great in my opinion, it gets a little bit repetitive at times (via map list, game type) [but what first person shooter doesn't have this issue, that's probably why their is a new version of call duty every year, plus 4 map packs to go along with it spaced out by 3 months] so in my sense i rather support an on going Game that is Awesome, rather than support a game that will be void, and i have to buy a new copy of via new version in a years time after dumping time, money and energy into some thing that will just go out the window.

Ok with that said, lets talk about LORE, this being an on going game, if it was a single player game and we did not want to have any control, that's what it would be a 45 hour play through maybe less, running along the guide lines, of some preset plan. (BORING)

We now have an opportunity to become the LORE!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!

If balancing issues have to be implemented on Clans let them be implemented. it is not going to be the same as you all once experienced and it will not Quench your Nostalgia we will never be able to truly recreate the Imagination of a 10 year old. We will never be able to play in the dirt and actually View our selves as the dump truck(free of responsibility), with out actually driving a dump truck around real-time grown-up size Free of responsibility (which will not happen cause you have to be a responsible person to drive a dump truck in the first place).

So Sit back relax, and CREATE YOUR OWN DESTINY. Also don't play like a wild banshee, it doesn't work play with thought and decisive action, die and learn, live and conquer. BE CAREFUL ONE DECISIVE WRONG ACTION OR COMMAND MAY LEAD TO YOUR DEATH, its all about being Clear Headed.

THIS IS WAR.

Mech "WAR" rior Online.

Hope i didn't come off to strong for y'all, but just slow your role be patient, and let things unfold as they come, no expectations leads to 0 disappointment, I am not saying don't dream, but don't expect people to Cater to your dreams. Stress FREE good luck y'all and HAPPY HUNTINGS!
