Please fix or add the following UI functionality:

1) Filter mechs - Bugged. Please fix.
2) Mech lab - in need of enhancements
.....+ Engines in inventory(owned) could have all their white text and clipart drawn in green.
.....+ Double click functionality to add/remove components.
.....+ Dislpay more specific hard point and current configuration information on mouse over.
.....+ Change the Checkout button to scale large for hi-res monitors and add SAVE to it so as to read "Checkout/SAVE".
.....+ Upgrades: I do not see where the number of free slots is represented, please fix. No feedback from UI on why a ferro armor upgrade is invalid for a particular mech.
3) Social interface, please improve. I do like that we can see what mechs our lance has selected prior to the drop.
4) lets get team association implemented now that UI2.0 is no longer a blocking issue.

Great work on hitting your deadlines, shows you guys are learning!

Congratulations on completing the controler menu of the upcoming x-box version and successfully forcing this unusable clutter on the pc comunity! But hey, in the end its just logical to give us this latest accumulation of bugs features, considering the fact that we are the ones who paid for its developement in the naive belief that you for once would make something usefull with our money. Its just sad, how stupid we were...

UI 2.0, just like those foul golden vanity mechs- looks good, but is not functionally sound.

I've played this game for over a year, toughed it out and never really complained.. even chipped in my $$$'s for MC here and there. One thing has become more and more evident and now it is crystal clear.

PGI is not listening to its customers anymore. It's going to do it's own thing, and so we're all wasting our time and money here.
Sad, I bought a better computer for this game and now I can't even play it because of all the sh!t that is now screwed up.

IF they decide to fix the social button crash, I still have to look thru ALL my mechs to find modules and engines.. and that's the beginning of the problems that have surfaced with this 'upgrade'.

Shoulda bought into Star Citizen, I guess. At least those guys actually care about the player base that they're milking for cash.

Edit: UNINSTALLED. I have had enough.. Nice job. Several hundred dollars and a significant amount of emotional investment I'll never get back.

I hope you are proud of yourselves, PGI. I withstood a year of people putting me down and PK'ing me because I lack the skills others do, or because a girl can't possibly be serious about a shooter/mech game.. I weathered it, and kept paying my dues.

You broke that. You broke the game. You're breaking your players...
and you obviously don't care.

I'm searching for a new mech and there are no stats on it. Like what he said, you have to guess on what it comes with. Why can't I just click the mech and the mech loads on the right hand side of the screen with it stats like you have it with the mechs that are in our mech bays. Makes no sense.

Clicking 2 times to exit the game? why. I'm clicking it the first time to leave, that means I'm leaving the game.

The mechlab screen looks really cool, i like the art, I'm glad you guys added the engine pictures, weapons, etc..

but the font is kind of small on certain screens for example the mechload screen the information such as speed, tons, armor, the text is to small.

it looks really good, but i think bigger size text in certain areas would make much better

I have been a staunch supporter both financially and during your ups and downs during development. I have to say that UI 2.0 has really disappointed me and I'm not sure how much support I am willing to give from here on in. It will depend entirely on what you do to improve the interface because quite frankly it is unusable without creating all sorts of frustration. I'm literally at a point where I feel like waiting half a year to see what you can do in the meantime so I don't have to deal with the frustrations I dealt with the first time I played using ui 2.0.

I'll try to summarize some of the issues, but feel like there are so many I just can't spend the time necessary to list them all. But I care enough about the product that I'd like to be heard.

1)Select mech screen: This should be the screen where you can automatically see your mech's build-out. In the bottom right where the current info resides, you should also list what the weapons load out is, what modules you have, how many heat sinks, what its hard points are how much ammo you have equipped AND ENGINE. similar to your previous ui.

It literally took me five minutes to find the load out of a mech because a) it was non-intuitively listed in a pop up screen that takes too long to load and b ) the font is so small, I couldn't see the info.

As an aside, I would expect that either in the home screen or the select mech screen, you could pan in 3d to see your mech the same way that world of tanks does. I have literally spent hours just checking out my tanks and admiring camo jobs which I find has been limited in MWO.

2) Mechlab: I'm sorry to say, but this is just a mess. I went from excited to beyond frustrated in about 10 minutes. Trying to change a couple load out and swap engines between mechs was much more difficult than it should be.

a) visually, I highly suggest putting the mech in the middle of the screen and using the left and right real estate for everything else. Also, I can't put a finger on it but the table that shows you your crit spaces just doesn't seem to be placed right. It would be nice to be able to click my mech to access the critical slot info too.

b ) I should be able to double click equipped items to send them back to inventory

c) I should be able to hit escape on my keyboard to go back

d) The centre torso engine screen is way too busy. I should be able to filter for what engines I own

e) you should have the amount of ammo equipped shown somewhere

f) way too many menus. The ease of use of ui 1.5 was much better and smurfy kills both in terms of usability.

g) I became super frustrated until I realized that checkout was actually "accept load out". I wasted at least 10 minutes figuring that one out.

h) you need to have a way to see current weapons load-out and modules equipped without having to click multiple menus. Give me a quick and dirty summary of what my mech has all in one place that doesn't require any clicking or digging.

i) We absolutely need to have engine equipped listed next to the weapon load out at the very least. I knew I had an xl295 engine on an unknown mech that I wanted to swap out, and I literally had to click "select mech; configure; loadout; centre torso" for each mech to find the elusive engine. I have 40 mechs and gave up after going through the click intensive process 10 times.

j) where is the option to automatically re-equip consumables?

3) I have some beefs with the friends list and create a group. Will need to be in a group match again to remember my critiques though. Off the top of my head, you need to make it that we can choose what type of match we want to play (and let us choose multiple options, not just one) and don't make me have to choose again every battle.

TL;DR I love the game and like what you have done so far (with manageable caveats). But please make the ui much more intuitive and much less deep dive clicking through menus. Make your mech load outs and modules easy to find ON THE FIRST PAGE as well as on the landing page in mechlab; select mech.

I think this is a good start, but it needs some work.

1. Like others, it took me a while to find the "Checkout" button. It's not obvious, especially when you're just moving something from your inventory and are therefore not buying anything. "Save Loadout" made a lot more sense in the old UI.

2. Mechs should be sorted by Chassis at the highest hierarchy level, not hero/champion/standard. When I go looking for my Yen-Lo I look first under "Centurion" not under "hero". Until this UI came out, I didn't even consider my phoenix mechs to be champions, so sorting them so that they're no longer with their siblings was confusing at first.

3. The number one thing that I do in the mechlab is change out modules, especially consumables. I come out of a match, pull out the modules on the mech that I just piloted, switch to a different mech and add modules to that mech. Can you make this easy to do? One suggestion: a big fat button in the lower right (near the selected mech's info) that says "configure selected mech." This at least saves me from having to sort through my list of 42 mechs (I know that some players have more than 90!) to find the tiny configure button under the mech that I've already selected.

4. I saw pauls "smurfy" mock-up. What is missing is a way to drag and drop components onto the loadout. It would be ideal if the mech loadout could be modified from the "smurfy" view.

I don't know why so many of you were expecting magic this patch. They clearly indicated it would be incomplete. Looks fine to me so far, a few annoyances, but I'm sure they'll be a patch again in about 2 months to fix most of it.

Configuring a mech is too difficult with the new UI because you have to use the side menu to see different sections (L Arm R, Arm, torso).

It would be easier if you could see everything you have on the mech so you can more easily configure a loadout.

The UI has too much wasted space and lack of info. The parts/engines/mechs all have large icons and small text.

I can't find the droids we're looking for!

I can't find anywhere information about engines that come with particular mechs - I mean those that I would like to buy, there is about maximum engine, but nothing about stock engine that comes with the mech

  • Why can I sort the mechs I own but not the ones in the shop?
  • Why are the mechs in the shop not sorted to begin with and why can't I see their load outs before I purchase them?
  • Why, when selling a mech, can't I see if an engine is installed?
  • Why isn't there a save button ANYWHERE on the mech loadout UI?
  • When when leaving the load out screen does it warn me that unsaved progress will be lost RATHER THAN ASKING ME IF I WANT TO SAVE MY PROGRESS?
  • Why doesn't the ESC key bring be back a step in the menu? No, seriously, there better be a good explanation for this one because this is utterly inexcusable. This is Front End design 101 stuff, right here.
  • Why is all of the font incredibly small? Are you trying to save space? You haven't used an MILIMIETER of the right side of the screen for anything, you can stand to make the font a little larger.
  • Why does it seem like all of the important information is stuffed into the corner of the screen rather than taking center stage?
  • Why does it seem like the actual area where you equip items is camouflaged? It doesn't just not stand out it also seems like it's hiding.
  • Why can't I see an overview of my mech's load out while I'm working on it? Again, the ENTIRE RIGHT SIDE of the screen is up for rent. Use it or lose it!
  • Why have you hidden the testing grounds and training area away from the launch button? No, seriously, why? What on god's green earth would provoke you to place the training mission somewhere other than where you launch from? If I was just starting out I would probably never find it after quitting the game and getting wrecked for 5 straight matches in a trail mech with a terrible load out and weapon groups.

I mean, do you guys actually play this game? Did you beta the new UI for feedback or just to brag about how poorly you designed it?

When switching engines there's nothing that indicates how many external heat sinks are required for those engines anymore, not even in the engine description.

Perhaps the best way to describe my reaction to UI 2.0 can best be expressed by ripping off "Billy Madison":

PGI, what you've just released is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent user interface were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this game is now dumber for having used it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

In all seriousness, the work put into the game is appreciated. I really enjoy the game! But I can't successfully log in with fewer than 7 attempts, and the UI is a chore (as detailed in the previous posts). Please rework this. I want to resume playing at some point. You have my email. I anxiously await notification when these issues have been addressed. Fingers crossed!

This UI 2.0 shows a great deal of promise. There have been significant advances in some areas and regression in others. My team and I will play tonight and I will make note of our collective complaints and note them here.

Perhaps my biggest gripe though is the click fest. Too many clicks to do things that were previously simple. I'd also like to know where weapons and hard points are. Used to be we could hover over a particular item and it would show us WHERE it was in the mech. Now I have to click on each body part (well, not really body part but instead the menu - can I click on body parts please?) to find out where things are. I have almost 60 mechs; I can't remember where everything is.

Oh, and I can't seem to easily discern where my modules are or even what engine is in the mech. The old system allowed us to click on a mech which would bring up an information panel showing a substantial amount of useable information (like modules/engines/etc). This is no longer present, sadly.

# ability to see not only the hardpoints on mechs but also those hardpoints' location

# "BATTLEMECH" tab at the "STORE" became useless because we can see the spec of the mechs and buy them through "MECHLAB"

# can we see the engine rating at mech's spec windows?

Please do the following - Regress the UI to the old one until you have the "smurfy version" up in march.

This is not a step forward in anything but your infrastructure, its terrible, and I REALLY REALLY hope you see the new player retention drop. So you can see what this massive mistake is doing, please tell us who thought the original design for UI2.0 was even slightly okay? I have been playing since open beta and today while trying to find and move an engine, was going to just stop playing.

How was this okayed at all? Please fire who designed this...

You guys have amazing artists as we can see from the quality of the models and maps, but your UI and interface team has no idea what simple and easy to use is.. I firmly believe that in the time since the first public test of the new UI NOTHING HAS CHANGED, you did NOTHING with any of the pages and pages of constructive feedback that you had access to.. Not even in this iteration has anything really changed...

I don't really need to add new information everyone has already said EVERYTHING. Please go back and read everything already said about the UI from 2 public tests - and patch this thing, fix everything with it, you now have the ability to apply patches without waiting 2 weeks, SHOW US YOU CAN FIX IT.
