That would explain why the Clan reveal and all the following nonsense showed even less effort and pride in the Intellectual Property than even PGI can still muster. When you take zero pride in what you do, it shows.
It's somewhat of a double-edged sword as a marketing tactic. They obviously can and will be eager to sell much more than 50 if there is someone willing to pay for it. However, if they don't start lowering the number left on a semi-frequent basis, and then cut it off at some point, it'll be interpreted as a lack of demand. The only reason to do something like this is if that demand actually was already low or non-existent. Then there are no downsides to fleecing a couple more customers.
True that. If there is indeed 50 packages sold in the next week or so but PGI fakes it, they're just lying to us but unexplicitly.
This type of business practice is terrible. Just like yesterday, I had to pay a hefty amount just to change my tire. Freaken service ripped me off in which they mentioned some like $30 for roadside service to change the tire but tripled it just because of "labor".
"Pay now or no service." so rude. Its was urgent too. I hate these type of dishonest business service.
I don't have a problem with people buying anything. Frankly, I'm glad that there are or were fans that put such amount of faith into this game. The problem is that the promise has never been delivered. PGI's attitude towards the fan base is unspeakably unethical too. When a small company fails couple times, I can forgive. It happens, PGI just needs to work harder, communicate more effectively with its fans and reward their players (which they do). But if this trends on, people will know that PGI is just toying with its customers which eventually loosens the loyalty.
I don't want this game to burn. I like it and I invested a good part of my income to feed this company AND to gain more satisfaction from this game. But the way they put this deal with a high price tag and lack of apparent details to this package and clan texh really hurts people's loyalty. You can't sell something that doesn't justify for its price. You can say its "fundraising", but at least be more responsible and accountable with what you are selling! Money doesn't grow on trees you know! $500 dollars can last me a whole month for food if I'm that broke. I'm just scared that people won't be satisfied with the purchase they make since $500 dollars on for a pixel item in-game is really expensive!
Perhaps I'm too butt-hurt with this issue. Maybe its my sense of right "judgement" that plagues me. But damn, MWO has a future. Its unique and clearly one of the "better" games for development compared to other games I played.
