In the end the people who may have only spent 80$ on Phoenix did so sight unseen with a game that at the time had a pretty rocky future. The people that have shelled out a lot of MC, have purchased known quality/quantities of things no waiting instant gratification.
And this is where i disagree.People bought Phoenix because they considered it a good deal.12 Mechs + mechbays, 4 of them Heroes and 90 days Premium time for 80 $ not mentioning the bonus stuff.Boar`s Head alone cost me over 30 $.And it is not the only 100t mech i bought for MC.

Yes it was a good deal, but my statement still stands. The game was having some major balancing issues, nobody knew the what was going on internally with PGI other than they were missing deadlines, etc. Yet people still bought the packs, and had to wait till they were released. I dont think we even found out variants until they were almost released, so that would be sight unseen and rocky game future.

King Crab aniversary edition.

All ppl who bought a top tier pack gets it for free.
ppl who wish it can buy it as a special edition Hero mech available by MC for that period just different skin and the C-bill bonus with no special hardpoints kinda like the Sarah Jenner it's pretty much a Jenner-D

I would not say people bought it because it was a good deal. Most people, at least the ones that I know got it because they deep down wanted the game to succeed and this (at the time) was one of the last times we were going to put money into it. Our hopes were continually getting smashed and it was one of those, "well, lets give this a go one more time, hopefully the game does not fall on its face"

luckily it did not. Here we are, still supporting this game the best we can, often times beyond all logic and reason.

I won't mind if it's re-released (without exclusives, as long as the 30% bonus was intact) or if it isn't. If it was, the added value of a hero Atlas and hero KGC - plus knowledge of how the pack mechs actually play - would very likely induce me to buy it.

On the other hand, if there was a new pack of IS mechs I might be more on the fence depending on what they were. It could be an exciting prospect.

I see the King Crab reward as a way to reward the faithful for being there for the game and the company, which really for how it is setup it is. The `Mech will most likely go to quite a few people as it is (which is cool), but I just see a lot of jealousy here from the folks who didnt have faith (and for me to use the word faith means a crapton as well is a conversation for another day ha...)

There is a very, very ugly attitude on display from quite a few folks here regarding this. the underpinnings of it have actually made me very nearly sick upon reading some of what has been said.
Some people did not lack "faith" some people simply did not have the money available at the time to buy said packs. Some people were not even playing the game then.
Now, if they want an IS mech gift-they have to but a clan pack that they won't/can't use in a major upcoming game mode. All people are asking for is a way to earn this gift by buying an IS themed pack. They are not asking for special treatment or asking for it for free, they simply want an option to get the IS mech with an IS pack.

The "I'm a special snowflake" attitude is not desired, nor appropriate. Calling out people for lacking "faith" or for being too poor isn't the best way to go about things, is it?
I suggested an "old guard" pack that includes the Sarah's jenner, which would qualify for this Crab-but have half the proceeds go to the charity in question. That way IS purists get what they want, the "I'm special" crowd get what they want and a charity gets some much needed money.
A more elegant solution to the issue. A few new paint schemes and maybe the odd variants we have not seen yet like HBK 4N etc.....
How's that?

I get it...but that is life. There are multiple stock deals and IPO's I missed out on that I knew were great deals but you know what the kids had college and what not and life happens. "Limited" does have a meaning.

Pretty sure that these mechs have no intrinsic value. It's not as if we can turn around and sell them off when the price goes up or something. Nor do you get a nice bonus down the line if you happened to have purchased the "Executive" stock package a few years down the line.

Yeah, Life sucks, I'm aware. Thing is this is a game, not life, and it's a situation that can be amended, namely by the entire purpose of this topic.

Before I start read this post before you start going on about affording things. http://mwomercs.com/...00#entry3732700

If you couldn't afford it at that time so be it, not everyone could. Good luck for the next package(s), but asking to get in on the rewards for previous packages by reissuing stuff that at the time you were unable to attain devalues those packages as they are no longer limited like what was stated. Me using the word faith is not in the religious way, meh not sure i guess if there is another meaning to it as I dont use it often....either way moving on....

I know you have read a lot of my posts, as you seem to like the ones where you can get the packs you were unable to get before. As i keep saying over, and over due to whatever the situation was you were unable to get those packages, it happens. But this whole attitude that you should be able to get in on the rewards for stuff you missed out on is pure poor me syndrome, enjoy what you have now and start saving for future packages. It is all about choices and where to spend your money, to which i am not even going to get into as peoples on financial stuff is their own business (unless they start throwing it in my face like most seem to be doing here then i take it personally).

yup amended by crapping on those that did all the pre-ordering. Just wait for future rewards and enjoy what you have now.

this
Or for MC.

It's released on the same day as we get the 'gift' version.
Purcahsing all 3 variants for MC will likely be along the lines of 10-12,000MC (equivalent to 3 Atlas'), so you can get all 3 inside of US$40-50. including mechbays.

Or wait till january and grind the buggers out like I'm going to need to do.

Just be happy you get it if you are.
Don't worry if you aren't.

Enjoy that we've got the damn King Crab!

Purchase a Pack and get the King Crab.

They did. It was called "Buy a Founder's" or "Buy a Phoenix".

Loyalty has it's rewards. You're a greedy git who wants to get your KGC early but didn't take the earlier offers, or is willing to take the current one.

Now that they've done this, take into account similar rewards may happen for those who grabdeal the big packages at later dates as well. Or not.

Fun mind game, isn't it?

Really, we're all still "founders" aren't we, with our endless succession of 7 minute deathmatches on 8 maps...?

Don't really have a problem if it encourages people to buy a package but these felt like loyalty rewards and had a special buzz for that reason. If you weren't loyal should you get them? ;)

PS: I'm presuming they'll come out for c-bills eventually anyway.

In the interest of time...why not make the KC gift Mech a hero, give it to those that qualify and let everyone else buy it?

Not a bad idea either and maybe the best option if they choose to make it available though any other means. Seems to many people understandably are against the idea of re-releasing other IS packs right now. So gift it to founders and make it a relatively expensive hero available for MC only.

Maybe in the future we will see an IS pack come out with some bonus goodies, perhaps when a new wave of mechs is releasing. (*hint hint PGI  *)

Im NOT interested in the Crab!
Im a Light-Pilot!
And i was to late for the Phoenix!
All i am saying is, that we, the IS-Purist would like a new Phoenix Pack.
With or without the crab.
But if the Claninvasion II takes place and the get a reinforcement, it would be cool if the IS get a reinforcement to. (Money for PGI)

They should just have a new pack called "LOLZ AC40 on an assault mech. PPFLD 4 Life!" with 3 King Crab variants

It will cost $100.00, but include a rebate redeemable for a $10 gift certificate to Red Lobster.
