IS clan buster pack is a great idea.

I like and support this idea, Maybe put together a Hero from each weight class along with 2 regular variants and the required Mechbays and 30 days of premium for about $80.

But not in time to qualify for the King Crab gift.

I love this assumption that I've somehow got buyer's remorse for not dropping more money on this. As I said in the announcement thread, I had a severe lack of cash when the Phoenix packages were on sale. I barely managed to scrape together enough cash to get my beloved Shadow Hawks, but that was all I could afford at the time. I'm gainfully employed now though and would seriously consider upgrading my package if it became available again.

But then, I don't want the BIG pack anyway, I'm just sad I missed the shiny locust :(

I feel your pain, while I hate actually piloting my locust....I do have them fully kitted out and often play with the color options :D. I hope they will eventually have a hero version of each chassis, that way you could one day have a "Shiny" locust too.

I don't think any such assumption is being made at you individually. The timing of this thread does call some peoples motives into question. Life can suck that way, I do understand.

My favorite Corvette is a C5 ZO6, I wish I could have purchased one brand new off the lot in '04! I did not have the money in those days...not even close. I did finally manage to get one a few years ago, but the best I could find was a slightly modified (Borla exhuast) '03 ZO6 with 50k miles on it.

I am not opposed to some sort of new IS Clan Buster Pack, just not with the Phoenix Prime variants.

How about a new set featuring mechs that were neither founders or phoenix, allowing you to get a nifty unique skin, cbill bonus etc.

You could have faction packs, 2 mechs with a specific faction paintjob. Awsome and Treb for Marik, Jager and Atlas for Steiner, Vindi and Raven for Liao etc

Which is always cool, but that's not what's happening here.
This is blatantly the "Whadda you mean there's no beer left? I chipped in. This is BS, somebody owes me a beer"
Ah, dude, you just got here like 20 minutes ago.

I stated my thoughts and as I said I respect that the Founders package bought should remain exclusive to Founding members. Totally understandable but it would be cool to have other options for IS pack currently that might apply. Like the Phoenix or a similar type/ style of package I would be interested. If not possible, ok no big deal, maybe something else will come about down the road for IS again.

Some of us where not around or aware of this game at the beginning. Unfortunately I was one of those people for a variety of unexciting reasons. Your post generally implies though because I am not a Founder or here when any previous packages where available that somehow I am less committed to the game or feel entitled to something. That is not the case. I am not here saying I am 'owed a beer'. Hoping that is not the general consensus on newer players here.

For the record if anyone is curious how late to the party I am... just over 9 month in game, few thousand matches, and just under $300. Nothing earth shattering but not fresh off the boat either.

Need a beer? Might not be your brand but I am glad to share if given the opportunity. :) :P

Made this thread, just to see what the reaction is.

The option of another IS 'pack' of existing 'mechs with a new skin isn't a bad one, either. If it sold Light, Medium, Heavy, and Assault, you'd be effectively getting five 'mechs for the price of four (since the top tier would get the King Crab). I'm not sure how hard it is for PGI to crank out a unique skin for four existing 'mechs.

I think if people want the King Crab gift meant for those that supported the game with pre-orders, pony up the $240 for the Masakari package.....Don't want clan mechs you say? Forget Mech packs - How about anyone that spends $240 in game before the 23rd qualifies for the King Crab gift?

Lets not fool ourselves, this is all about a gift that some are realizing they do not qualify for.

As a Legendary Founder I have no problem with releasing the Founder Mech packages to people (not sure who would want to buy them...). Though it gives you only 4 mechs, but MC and Premium time (some people may like).

I would possibly be tempted by the Phoenix packages, because until you allow Mercs to use clan Mechs in CW I have no plan on buying them (Clan packages that is).

why would Mercs get access to Clan MEchs?

1) Clans don't hire Mercs.
2) Houses confiscate nearly all clan tech for study at this point.
3) Only Wolfs Dragoons and Kell Hounds have (limited) access to Clan Tech for foreseeable future.
4) Houses have 1000000s of times more resources to keep Clan Mechs operational, and largely cannot, how will a Merc?

because my merc unit of ME is special like that. I mean, I only have 160+ mechs after all for 1 pilot.

I personally like the idea.

But I think any unleashing of Phoenix packages or founders would need to come from the players. More specifically from the Phoenix and founders themselves saying yes you should do that.

Only way I can see it happening.

I missed founders (thought I had purchased, computer died a few days later, realized didn't complete purchase, missed out). I have Phoenix (not reinforcements) and Clan. Why not? Founders I could see no, given what it was. The rest? Why not? bring 'em back like it's 2012(3?)

Ok. Time to weigh in on this. If you want to spend money on a king crab but don't want to buy clans, buy a variant for mc. It's available for mc same day as injection

As a phoenix owner, I think I'm ok with a limited re-release of the pack this weekend under the following circumstances:

1) All the pre-order bonuses are removed, just like how they have been for the clans.

2) It is ONLY for this weekend due to the special reward.

Honestly, even then I'm sorta torn, since it was supposed to be a limited time thing, and the only reason folks are interested in it now is because of an extra goodie. I'd honestly rather you offer another new IS pack of some kind.

The big problem I have with it is that it removes the "Limited Edition" and "Never offered again" ideas from the pack, and that was part of why many folks decided to pony up the money. And we're talking about a single free mech here.

You my good friend are displaying what is considered "Adult behavior". Where while you are conflicted for your own personal reasons - you are making a decision to improve the quality of life for the "whole". Cut that crap out - this is the MWO forums! ;)

You should be like the rest of them -
