He did not say it will "at least be able to go as fast as a spider". He said, yes, they could, technically, but that would not be a good idea.

Offensively, four ER Medium Lasers and eight Light Autocannon/2s were incredibly accurate thanks to the inclusion of a Targeting Computer.
