Simply because it would be absolutely OP.
No hitbox and negative quirks can compensate the fact that, once you get close to the enemy, you can accurately apply 15.56 damage per second to a component (without building heat). That means 3 seconds to strip ALL armor of the CT of any medium mech, plus 2 seconds to clean the internal structure (no mentioning the crits).
Are you comfort with a lightening fast mech that can kill others in a few seconds?
Myself, I would prefer a MWO were you have options other than the Piranha...
Would be roughly Commando Sized.
107pts of armour (optimised)
16T of space (not including engine)
If it's stuck with its default XL180 as the max cap:
7.5T, 25 slots
If it gets to use a XL200 (I don't think higher as it would hit that zone where PGI is worried it'll break the engine and HSR), then:
6.5T, 27 slots
12CMG = 3T, leaving 3.5T to 4.5T for ammo (7,000 to 9,000 shots)
Firing 120 times a second, that would last for 58 to 75 seconds, at 11.4DPS within 120M.
Allowing for a maximum output of 661.2 to 855 damage.
You could drop 1.5T of ammo, for the Small Lasers, to bring it to 2-3T of ammo (4,000 to 6,000 shots)
Granting a DPS of 14.4 at 120M, sustainable for 33 to 50 seconds, after which the DPS drops to 3DPS at 150M. (I would probably run this build myself)
Allowing for a maximum output of 475.2.2 to 720 damage, plus the results of 3 small lasers once the MG's run dry.
This DPS is reliant on the mech with 33 CT Health and 28ST Health, holding position on a single component for the duration:
2-3 seconds for the rear of a light mech / 3-4 seconds for the front.
5-10 seconds for the rear of an assault / 10-19 seconds for the front
With torso twisting / people who aren't idiots, I'd say increase those numbers by at least 50% for heavier mechs, if not 100-300% on lighter mechs, meaning any given mech would likely average 15-20 seconds of sustained fire.
So it would be a terrifying 150kph to 170kph monster, at 120M or less, for up to a minute, and would be able to shake hands with 2 to 4 mechs - and make them kinda sad.
In return, for 33/15CT health, 20/12 ST health and 24 leg health (potentially up to 30 leg health), meaning most things will take it out in 1-2 alphas themselves.
Very much Risk-Reward.
