Yea, but looking as a scout force mech, I think the P1 could be a nasty SRM boat in there... other than that, maybe a larger XL, 325 maybe, to really get the most speed and agility if you are going to run XL on a Bushwacker (do so at your own risk)... On paper it looks okay, but would require actual testing.

So Russ stated on his twitter that looking at the Javelin builds is the first time he's ever really started to consider going back and balancing, via hardpoint inflation, older mechs.

For me, personally, here are some of the IS light mech changes I'd love to see:

-Only mentioning AMS hardpoints if extra added-
LCT 1V: Add 1B to both arms. (3B RA, 3B LA, 1E CT)
LCT 3V: Add 1B to both arms. (2B RA, 2B LA, 2E CT)

COM 1B: Add 1E to LA. (2E RA, 2E LA, 1M CT)
COM 1D: Add 1E to RA and 1AMS to left torso. (3E RA, 2M CT, 1AMS RT & LT)
COM 2D: Add 1E to LA. (2M RA, 1M CT, 2E LA)
COM 3A: Add 1M to CT. (1E 1M RA, 1E LA, 2M CT)
COM Death's Knell: JJ? Lots of Armor Quirks? Not sure how to set it apart but it needs something.

SDR 5D: Add 1E to RA, 1E to CT. (3E RA, 2E CT)
SDR 5K: Add 1B to each arm and 1E to CT. (3B RA, 3B LA, 2E CT)
SDR 5V: Add 2E to both side torsos. (2E RT, 2E LT, 2E CT)
SDR Anansi: Add 1E to each arm. (1B 2E RA, 1B 2E LA, 1M CT)

UM R60: Add 1E to LA. (4B RA, 3E LA)
UM R60L: Add 1AMS to LT. (2B RA, 4E LA, 1AMS RT & LT)
UM R63: Add 1E to LA. (3B RA, 2E LA, 2E LT)

JR7 K: Add 1AMS to RT. (2E RA, 2E LA, 1M CT, 1AMS RT & LT)
JR7 Oxide: Add 1E to both side torsos. (1M RA, 1M LA, 2M CT, 1E LT, 1E RT)

Granted, I'm sure lots of people have opinions on this and opinions on a lot of the older chassis (the oldest 16 -first 4 for each weight class- or so, especially). I think it'd be a good discussion to have since Russ is finally seeming open to more stark mech balancing via hardpoints (and maybe even engine sizes . . . pipedream, I know).

Thoughts? Opinions? Dreams for chassis across the spectrum? Omnipods?

Well, the best solution would require a little modeling, and that's what I put above with adding hardpoints to the side torsos since there's no space in the CT. The simplest solution would be to put hardpoints in each arm and just rip off the modeling that already exists for the Anansi and 5D.

It's sad that some mechs that really need some adjustments used to be pretty solid variants back in the day, but not anymore.

I don't see it supplanting the GRF, even with extra launchers because of lack of JJs, easy to nom legs and general lack of tankiness compared to the GRF.

Mind you, as long as it's viable, that is enough for me. Just don't think people should get their hopes up that it's going to be a world beater, even in that role.

I wanted to know if there are Assignment tables for the 3055-3060 era like those posted in the first post of the entire thread (yes, post #1). I'd really like to know the number and type of mechs each faction had during those times.

You might be able to find some assignment tables (fan-made, since those are the only real RAT tables that exist) for faction favored chassis/variants of that era. Numbers owned, on the other hand, would be a very tricky beast to tackle, because by that time the IS was actively and fervently manufacturing chassis -new and old- as fast as they could crank them out.

That wasn't just because of the Helm Memory core really setting in, but also because of the Clan Invasion and the "cold war" that happened after Tukkayid . . . when the IS was frantically trying to catch up to the Clans tech level as fast as possible. By the time it all came to a head with Operation Bulldog there were so many different armies building up, mech production going on, and conflicts still taking place, that it'd probably be impossible to know the exact numbers of mechs out there.

Of course the other kicker is that any time the "powers that be" of CGL decide they want to add mechs or retcon history a bit (like what's been done with the Roughneck, or between TT editions when the game went from "mechs can't be built anymore" to "mechs are still being built") then it throws everything out of whack, including total mech counts.

Want to buy a Crab and was thinking to get one with jump jets but it has way less structure quirks. What do u think how it will be balance out with the new skill tree? Still less structure quirks than the other variants or maybe more in line with them?

Some armor/structure quirks are getting baked into mechs, but that's apparently only for mechs that really need them according to Russ (think Hunchback hunch torso). I'd suspect that Crabs will be among the mechs that have every last quirk removed; and then you can aim for more durability (probably in line with where the others are, now) by investing in that direction on the skill tree.

However, none of us can say for sure until it happens. If you really want a mech then just get it . . . the Crab with jump jets is a pretty respectable machine.

If they really do jump to 3068 tech, compact gyros would be one of the best things ever for [i[Spiders[/i] and other CT-hardpoint designs. Even four crit spaces in the CT would greatly expand what you can fit in there.

Indeed!!! Could even allow some inflation to the poor Spidey's CT hardpoints, right? (4 medium pulse lasers wouldn't be so bad...)

Actually more excited for XL Gyros. Can run Lolcust with an LFE and still fit 6x MedLas because the XL Gyro makes up the difference between XL and LFE 180.

Edit: if they were to add them, that is.
