I'd love the Clint and Clint IIC. It's currently my top pick for any medium chassis for the IS, and close 3rd behind the Griffin IIC and Shadowhawk IIC for Clan. Sadly, I agree, I doubt PGI has that kind of sense of humor.

Clint is a 40t medium mech. Granted, just like the bottom tonnage of any the heavier brackets, 40t is often considered a "heavy light". However, unlike many other 40t mechs, the Clint focuses on being a trooper mech with a big gun and respectable armor . . . even advanced tech sees the mech enhancing armor coverage and weapons payload over speed increases.
Regardless, for PGI concerns, a 40t medium isn't going to get the same kind of price reductions that lights get, as seen by the recent medium sales of the Dervish, Vapor Eagle, Vulcan, Black Lanner, and Hellspawn. Those are the mediums that have released since PGI's new light chassis pricing model, which came with the Javelin.
EDIT: On the other hand, seeing the very similar cosmetic structure between the Clint and Clint IIC (unlike many other IIC mechs), they very well could pull a Charger/Hatamoto-Chi "Evolution" pack and have an IS and Clan version of the mech come out at the same time. That'd be a pretty cost-savvy and lucrative move on PGI's part.

Well, that's interesting. Not interesting enough to pre-order, but I look forward to the C-Bill release of the WHM-9D & MAD-9M

Same here. I would pay (real) money for the MAD-9M but not $50, and I am not yet sure about MW:5.
I think PGI would make more money if they sold those Mechs for $10 each.
Also, a MAD-9S would have been more tempting to me. It retains the classic Marauder playstyle but adds hardpoints and an ECM. I can see the appeal of the 9M though.

When the posts you quoted were written we had still hope that the "exclusive" part would be for the (S)-variant only and that they'd release standard, non-(S) variants for MC and/or C-Bills, similar to the reward Mechs.
However, with regards to non-(S) variants Russ recently said:

So yes, we get them via C-Bills. Good.
Not the best MAD-9 but better than none.

Also, I'm glad to see PGI reversed what would have been a very poor decision to go outside their normal release structure and not make a (S) or (L) chassis variant eventually acquirable as a standard c-bill version. Even though I have literally zero interest in any of those variants, I wouldn't want PGI to set a very ugly precedent to move forward with.
On the other hand, not even 1 medium or light in the lance, really?! . . . Well, I guess they've already spoiled the end-game boss lance and/or the mechs that the parent-killing pirates used when they set you on your revenge quest . . . and thereby the MW5 "Act/Chapter Bosses" that you'll face as you track the pirates down.

First thing I checked was the loadout, to see which one it was.
I think "the Gauss one" and the "PPC/missile" one are both pretty cool. I can't usually remember which is which right off the top of my head.

Seriously, the Stone Rhino is inevitably coming before MW5's release.
It will be several months we still have a clan light and clan medium to see for the clans before another clan assault mech.

I've got a strong feeling that April's mech is going to be the Urbanmech IIC. Other strong candidates for the clans are the Griffin IIC, Shadow Hawk IIC and Phoenix Hawk IIC (two mediums and a assault) although I'd rather see the Firemoth even if it is downgraded to get the entire MW2 line up in the game.
For the IS, still possible strong candidates are the Argus, remaining unseens (Crusader, Longbow, Stinger/Wasp, etc.) and others before IS Omnimech consideration. There's also the other loose end mechs like the Turkina, War Dog, Thug, Lightray, Brigand (another pirate mech fitting with the Corsair), Grizzly, etc. although personally I would only throw down IRL money for the Toyama at this point.
