The shape isn't bad now that Odanan gave me that comparison, however I think it may be the shaping of the cockpit area that throws it off and what seems to be the laser being more of an eye than a side attachment to it.
I find it hilarious that the early adopter reward for the IS pack lasts a month while they tried to make it...was it a week originally? For the Clan pack and didn't extend anywhere near a month. xD
I know it deviates from the TRO as well, but through both fluff and the MW4 design, maybe make the wolfhound head more Wolf shaped? I was listening to the Blood of Kerensky books and the description matches the MW4 design so much better.

The Mauler which I am an assault fanatic (YES IT IS ALL ABOUT ASSAULTS!!!) looks great but then again it looks like they took the concept art of the Awesome and made it look bulkier to fit the Mauler missile weapons in and work as a 90 ton mech.
The crab has to be in my opion a great looking mech off the concept art only issue again is that nose laser and head laser look like they are attached and not apart of the mech design.
Lastly the light mech Wolfhound, great looks to the eye but nothing to scream about because it looks like an energy CT panther instead of the panthers missile points.

Do you people realize that for customizations those Clan mechs come already good to go, with all the upgrades that would need to be applied to those IS mechs? If you actually figure in the c-bills people are going to need to invest to kit out and prep those mechs for combat it's going to cost a boatload. Just in the Endo-Steel, Double Heat Sinks, and removal of Ferro-Fibrous (nearly every Mauler comes with Ferro-Fibrous already on it) . . . you're talking tens of millions of c-bills that don't need to be spent on Clan mechs. Let alone if people actually need to spend c-bills on engines that they don't already own or can't swap out.
Now, go look at how much MC in cash it would take to actually acquire all of those c-bills, if one were to just purchase them with real money. It's 4K MC for a pure 6.5 million c-bills. To customize all the IS mechs you'd need at least two of those bundles . . . which is another $50 spent (minimum) right there if converted to real money. That $50 difference alone already closes the gaps between packages. That's being EXTREMELY conservative with the c-bill estimates. I just recently kitted out my Grasshoppers and that cost me nearly 20 million . . . just for them, because I didn't have all the engines I needed. There's a reason that the clan stuff is more expensive, and that is it.
I fully expect to see the first IS Omnimech sale cost just about as much as the Clan packages, even if that is quite a ways off, because those mechs start coming with all the upgrades pre-applied, as well. The same applies if we start to get into packages of IS mechs that are coming with just as high of base c-bill costs as clan mechs. However, because of technology differences, those mechs are quite a long ways off, as well.
These aren't those mechs, and you should frankly be happy that they're not taking the c-bill costs of the mechs and doing direct conversions into the MC values and then applying a blanket % discount for the packages . . . because then you'd be paying a hell of a lot more for the clan packages then you currently are, while the IS mechs wouldn't actually change all that much.
The fact that PGI cuts amazing deals for its players and then those players start to whine and moan about it is really starting to get disgusting. After all, I don't see a bunch of Phoenix owners (of which I got lucky and actually had the money to get an Overlord package) coming back and screaming that they want free skins and dozens of free colors and piles of cockpit items.
Packages change over time, and PGI is being more generous in their offerings. People should be complaining less and becoming more excited that PGI is starting to make such amazing and generous offers.

Glad to see another non humanoid mech with the crab.
Black Knight looks nice and fast IS laser vomit should be possible.
Mauler... well it is a mauler but yea IS with ballistic in each side torso and still decent energy yes please.

You even get more colors!
It comes to my mind that PGI is losing the focus to the Game and go more and more to money making and also take sides with IS only.
I have a more and more negative impression of PGI.
Why cheaper... Single Heatsinks, Standard Armor, Standard Structure, Standard Engines... seeing a pattern yet?
Go back to your vat and soak in your saltiness.
