I love ballistics myself so I'll definately be trying out this mech when it comes out. Does anyone know if any of these variants had jump jets? Wasn't ever big on the mechs looks but the loadouts on these were pretty nice.

Jump Jets. :P I don't think so and thankfully hope not. That is all we need, another ballistic poptart style mech. Has anyone posted that poptarting is OP? j/k (Just Kidding) (But I am sure to get some responses to that question).

Eh? Well, the mechbays I bought last year that I've never filled, and the cbills I've been hoarding for a month now were all in preparation for this 'mech.

i hope it will NOT get additional hardpoints. the catapult has 6 hardpoints in every variant, the JagerMech is the same size, if it had more hardpoints it would be OP in a way.

I'm wondering if this mech will have either an ecm-able variant (or multiple) or if it will herald the release of some form of advanced sensor suite since in the BT universe this mech generally had advanced radar equipment to aid in it's primary role of AA, and since there is no need for AA, maybe this mech will at-least be the precursor to special sensor systems

Super Quick lock?
Extra long range on the sensors?
Range bonus to ballistic weapons?
Some form of specialized ECM counter, without having to mount a guardian?
Extra information on target?

All possible ideas.

And for what damn reason would a direct-fire, ballistic boat are about ECM?

For him it mean onely one thing, that teh target has wasted 1.5 tons of armor/equipment.

It doesn't seem likely
The S, A, and DD variant are all available at the current timeline and none of them have ECM on them.

There is no need for an AA role...yet. NPC aircraft bombing the crap out of your and your allies has been more than hinted at by the devs.

A bit irrelevant.
Aside from the utterly godawful Trial mechs that this chassis will add to the game, the Mechromancers have been theory-crafting the hell out of this mech and are very excited about it. If implemented properly this lackluster canon mech will have significant implications on the battlefield.

Can anyone tell me what the largest engine this mech can hold?

likely we'll see a 2e/2b/2m, and two 2e/4b variants, though we may also see one or all bumped up to 4x energy, and/or 4x missile slots on the JM6-A, and one with an extra module slot would be typical of igp

no, no jump jets

no ECM or ECCM variants needed for the flak mech, just flak rounds, as for increased range, add BAP and the improved sensor range module, there you have your greater range

The basic JagerMech (the JM6-S variant) starts with a 260-rated engine.
The engine rating modifier for Heavy 'Mechs is 1.2x.
260 * 1.2 = 312 -> rounds up to 315

So, the largest engine that could be fitted to the JM6-S is a 315 engine, which should grant it a top speed (sans modules and pilot efficiencies) of ~78 kph.

The other timeline-appropriate variants (the JM6-A and the JM6-DD) have the same BattleTech movement profile (walk 4, run 6), so they would use same-rating engines and would be subject to the same restriction.

Jagermech is a Heavy mech.

The Jagermech come stock with a 260 engine, the same as a Catapult. The Jager, also being a 65 ton heavy, will have the same speed profile (same engine rating limit, same speed per engine, etc) as the Catapult family.

Fixed. :D
("Medium" came from it being a copy-paste from answering the same question about the Blackjack...)

A laughable argument considering the Cicada and Spider models that got ECM weren't equipped with it in 3050 BT. After having been shown my foot eating mistake in saying no Spider would have ECM because the only variant to have it in BT was Jihad Era, I will never again try to predict PGI on this. I feel they cannot be trusted any further than I can throw them on the subject of ECM.

However. IF I were to call it, I would only go so far as to agree with you here - not likely. No further. As I said, I lack any and all trust in PGI's judgement on this subject.

I dont think it would make much difference since balistics take up so much room anyway unless you want to take heaps of machine guns.

Im hoping they have the varent with LRM mounts that would look cool

Yes. That would be the A. Which they said would be in, many months ago.

I don't think, no matter how hard you try, that you, or anyone else, could come up with a definition of "base variant" that would actually fit what you just said.

Fixed that for you.

I plan on buying a bunch of these, but expect to be frustrated while playing them. It'll be like the YLW, all your firepower in an easy to hit location that everyone knows to target. Except you wont be able to torso twist to protect them since it's in both arms.
