Plus, the original Rifleman was one of the Unseen mechs, so they'd have to use the Project Pheonix version.

Hopefully it is a variant (DD) and not the prime config. if not, then I'll be laughing as your ac 5's and 2's barely scratch my paint job.

Designed as an anti-aircraft platform and long-range fire support unit, the JagerMech was intended to correct several perceived faults of the original Rifleman. While it does address the Rifleman's heat issues and limited ammunition, it does so at the cost of significant armor protection. Carrying only a miserly six tons of standard armor, the JagerMech is very vulnerable to return fire. In its favor, the long range of its autocannon, combined with the excellent Garret D2j targeting and tracking system (made famous by the Rifleman), make it a prime choice for anti-aircraft work. The range of its autocannons also allow it to engage many enemies without suffering return fire, and when stationary it is able to fire all its weapons without heat build-up.
Houses Davion and Liao field the largest numbers of JagerMechs, with House Davion being particularly fond of the design.
No one going to buy that one. Worst choice ever not enough armor, weak weapon load, and the hardpoints blow chunks.
No ones blowing a wad on this one.
Sorry,
Thanks

I'm not a writer by trade (I do write quite a bit, however) but I'm sure I could probably churn out something that felt more collected.
I like the redesign fine, but it does not have that distinct feel that the Jagermech has which separates it from the Rifleman. It feels too bulky to me, even for its weight class. It also does not feel like enough of a redesign for my liking. It looks almost pound for pound like the default TRO drawings on Sarna. Considering the departure all the other mechs take, this one feels kind of weak.
I like the Jagermech, don't misunderstand. I just do not think this is the best work of the game. That, for me, goes to the Dragon artwork, with the Atlas taking a distant second.

the pair of Gauss rifles would eat up almost all of your available tonnage, meaning you'd be naked in protracted battles, faster than with 4ac's plus the increased weight starts to get in the way of mounting any energy weapons, which leaves you naked (again) in closer combat.
