I'd assume the green up arrow with Tier means you went up in tier, and the red down arrow means you go down...

But seeing as there's no PSR on the PTS, and PSR is still not shown, it's kind of pointless atm.

No idea its taking so long to get a game that I didn't notice it on a loss.

and when I say long we are talking 10-15 minutes.

Yeah, one would assume that is your tier ranking, but I have no idea what it means. i.e what rank is it?

It's to inform you if you gained or loss PSR "points" or whatever after a match (did you forget that you rarely lose PSR?)

Min-maxers hate it because they understand the underlying game mechanics enough to exploit the changes. Look at this new Timber Wolf for example:

Posted Image

Yes, that's right, a Timber Wolf with extreme positive quirks, more than the majority of mechs on either faction. Only negative quirk is -2.5% missile cooldown.

Stop chasing quirks. Stop chasing the meta.

Or if you must chase, then don't gripe when it changes - that's the downside you accept to chase it.

You might as well complain about how heat is gimping your 6 ERLL build...

It would be easier to not chase quirks for playstyle effectiveness if sub-par mechs and variants didn't get smashed into the ground by reduced agility and no weapon quirks, in exchange for placebo sensor buffs.

Chasing the meta? The new system does nothing to change the meta, except removing IS mechs from it....what are you even on about?

The new system does not improve game balance nor does it promote variety, which are really the two things it should do, so pray tell what we're not supposed to be providing negative feedback about?

I love how they actually gave the Atlas DDC negative agility quirks (and no armor/structure), while giving a --- direwolf up to 35% accel quirks?!
WHAT THE ---?

They took away Quickdraw's 4G agility quirks (which was the reason i bought it) gave it a couple of structure quirks... While the OTHER variants got 20-25% accel/decel quirks (that didn't have any). I mean, what the --- are they thinking??? It's so --- arbitrary and inconsistent!

They even gave the Jenner MASSIVE negative quirks to torso turn-rate??? The only one, not being butchered being the Hero 'mech? What the ---?

Jesus...
Really shows how little they understand about the --- game's balance...

"The new system does not improve game balance nor does it promote variety"

How would you know? Its a first draft on a test server.

PGI's first drafts have all too often become their final drafts...

Why can't teh Donald just visit Vancouver and do his trademark thing with that one particular guy @ PGI?

Would anyone pay to see that?

This right here is the worst of it.

Somehow, I really can't fathom how, Paul figured out that the most under-performing IS (and even some of the clan like the Lynx) were so OP they needed to have their mobility driven about 100 yards under the ground.

I might have even given them credit for the "beta/test" thing if it actually seemed like they made an honest attempt at it rather than just stuffing all these values into a random number generator and hitting go. I'm generally pretty critical of what they do, was actually looking forward to this because Paul's original post curiously sounded like he actually had some concept of what he was doing - boy did he prove my hope wrong on this one.

I guess at least he managed to do it in true PGI "burn everything into the ground" fashion so maybe thats something, points for consistency at least.

Have you played this game for any amount of time?

Do you understand the balance of said game?

Then you would understand how we arrive at these conclusions. If you can't look at those quirks, play a few matches, and come up with the end result, then you clearly don't know much about how MWO, it's meta, and it's balance works.

Also, just the fact that PGI thinks that these sorts of quirks and changes could be a good thing is kind of a scary thing for some of us to realize...

when one variant has +30 structure in all areas, and another has **** tons of negative quirks.

I just have a hard time figuring out how they came up with these quirk changes. A lot of them just don't make sense at all. It is so surreal--like... someone held a magnet up to the hard drive before they copied the file to the thumb drive to put on the server or something.

Some of the quirks are downright nutty. Like the leg structure buffs. Why buff structure, which makes legs break faster when you fall rather than armor? The Suckoner™ got really hosed with that and the torso twist slowdown.

I just don't know what to say other than they need to throw out all these new values and start over again. It beats whatever katana they used so far...

they removed all of the unique quirks on the Hero mechs outright.. people paid real money for these. if this goes live as is i can quickly see that as becoming a potential death knell for this game.. its one thing to re-balance mechs, it's another to completely remove the entire reason people bought them.. again with REAL money.. in the 1st place...

if it went live right now, i would quit and i am positive i wouldn't be alone. i don't like being ripped off, and removing the uniqueness of real money mechs is doing just that.

EDIT: for clarity, i don't care about removing the non-unique quirks or changing things like structure.. i do care when they remove things like the gauss cooldown on the Grid Iron or the srm cooldown quirks on the Huggin. they were the entire reason those mechs were purchased, removing them turns a mech like the Grid Iron into an underpowered 4G

They removed the AC/20 bonuses from my Protector, which I bought for exactly that reason. This is why it sits in my garage, collecting dust. It is a sort of microcosm, a small but perfect example of how bad an idea it is to actually give PGI money.
