Yeah, guess it was still a very early version - and also the other UFO game (the 2nd Part of the Trilogy) - it was ok for a real time game.

As long as it reaches $1,850,000 I'll be happy. The PvP can come in game #2 or game #3 once they get the engine creation out of the way.

Yeah, i don't really care for multiplayer either.
I just want a good, solid singleplayer campaign.
.
.
And a full 3025 mech roster. I'd take the full 3025 mech roster over the multiplayer component, to be honest.

They'll reach all the stretch goals easy. I'll be surprised if they don't get it by the half way mark.

I disagree. I want it more of a thinking mans shooter. Not what we have now as MWO. Or some other classic games which you dont have to think but click and point instead. But that you don't like it is more personal though. I am not very fond of X-COM. I find it too futurustic. But it's different.

The original X com is so vastly superior to the current X Com.

This version just lacks soul, somehow.

Setting aside the huge success so far in terms of funding, I wonder whether this will be a semi-definitive survey of active Battletech fans (minus those without a computer and/or internet...). In that sense it doesn't surprise me that the first 24h of excitement turned into a slow crawl. Maybe 25-30k is the upper limit for this particular community?

Eh, this is what happens with -every- kickstarter, bro. Huge initial rush, a lull in the middle followed by a last 2-3 day rush.

For that I would rather take the numbers of MWO founders and add some. Sadly MWO and MW:T burned many BT fans who now hesitate to spend money on a potential second or third disaster.

That means about 65,000 people. Challenge accepted! ;-)

People giving 10k to a company that doesn't even have **** on the table is quite literally everything wrong with modern game industry.

They have literally said they have done multiple games this way and completed them all to the best of their ability.

I won't give 10K (lol) but I did pledge my $50. HBS has made 3 quality games that I have enjoyed and spent many, many hours playing, I'll take a shot with them giving me a Megamek with campaigns and better graphics.

Gonna invest some at the end of the month

Though I wish they'd follow MWO's art style with all they offer
Just can't stand the old art style on the patches n so on
That and my favorite; FRR just isn't around time wise

Also this is from a company who made crowd funded games before, and actually delivered them
With fans who love said games

As long as it doesn't turn out to be a yawn like MW tactics was

What do you mean?

Battletech IS following PGI's art. They're sharing it with HBS games.

I actually don't believe the whole "pledging gigantic huge numbers for vaporware" thing.

What's next?

Million dollars for the "dev comes over and gives you oral" pledge?

Please. I think it's basically a marketing gimmick. To get people to not guilt trip over giving full-title value over to a company on the promise of a potential game. As in, "oh look someone spent 10k on this... i shouldn't feel so bad about fifty bucks..." type of thing.

I seriously don't believe that stuff. I don't. I refuse to believe there are people out there that spend that sort of money. In the first hour? The first hour? Yeah I don't believe it. Whoever those people are that give that sort of money are the sort of ******* I try and avoid in all aspects of life. I play games to escape that sort of ****, since this is, in actuality, escapism. I don't need to see ******* walking around with "i 10k'd this game" garbo.

Then i would not recommend you looking at Star Citizen. That one must have worse plegders then a 'loosy' 10.000 i believe.

I backed up for a normal price. Game prices for the computer are average 50 bucks. I am fine with it.

I always look at how much i would spend for a normal game. 120 dollars in the past for a N64 game was big, but now days the average PC game gets expensive. Hate that.

Anyone else have their limits, mines is around 50 bucks. Thats expensive enough.

I think he means the Faction Symbols. They're slightly different.
