Archer needs major CT/ST quirks.

I'd like to see +30 CT +15 ST on most variants. The cockpit is so low that you will think you are in cover but actually you have crap ton of CT being blasted

Don't worry, we'll get it in the next 30-90 days. They'll postpone the Archer release until then.

9 srm 4s with Artemis = win and you dead fool

9 streak 2s with Bap and CC = light mech dead fool

4 medium pulses and Srm 6s = brawler

6 medium pulses and SRM 6s = brawler

6 small pulses and srm 6s = bralwer

heck I just see brawling written all over these mechs. While you can put lrms in them and they would work I still think brawling 270 range king.

Then you haven't been looking at the model.

Mad Dog STs with Dragon CT and no Clan XL? means dead before getting with 270 meters, unless playing bads.

Unless MASSIVE structure quirks. And then massive SRM or Generic Weapon Quirks.

Yes, let's spend a lot of effort quirking the mech to be the exact opposite of what it's supposed to be.

And even then, it'll be neutered quick, at range by any halfway decent laservomit.

All it needs is the same structure quirks that the warhammer has and it'd do perfectly fine.

lets not forget the Archer is supposed to be a long range brawler

and yes, missiles as secondary armament on an Archer is a freaking heresy
hell, anything except LRMs as primary armament on it is heresy

Lately i am playing mostly upgraded "stock" mechs, and stock means stock armament (plus hardpointfillers in cases of free hardpoints). Surprisingly I have lots of fun with my Atlas 7D and more variation besides "meta". The quirks are helpfull. So i have great expectations for my archer´s!

p.s. Bishop, my PPC arm warhammers are hardmode to me, but I try... Posted Image .

the side torsos aren't that big. Catapult ears are massive blocks that stand up and out from the mech. No comparison at all here, the archer ST's are nowhere near that big and still get some protection from the arms.

I don't think it's going to suffer as much from its shape as you're making out.

We'll see soon enough, but the side profile shots I've seen so far don't look anywhere near that bad. Particularly not given damage resistance and very probable structural quirks.

I'm not going to hype myself on the revised quirks. I highly doubt we will get anything close to Marauder or Warhammer level.

Nor should anyone. The very fact that people are starting to expect and demand uberquirks on everything to be "viable" means it's time to slap the Quirk Teat from people's mouth and get get people to stop being so reliant on crutches, from the playerbase, to PGI as the local "candy man".
