- stop changing things and calling it new content.
- add a NEW map every 2-3 months.
Thats all.

You forgot, "and clan mechs that are true to lore and will roll any IS mech in seconds."
Not my idea of a good time, actually. Either as OP Clan would be, or as UP as IS. 10 v 12 would have no effect on the outcome. Why? Because in the lore (and I think Clans were the greatest stupid ever added to an awesome universe) it was dishonorable for a Clan warrior to engage an enemy more than 1v1. And until the guys with clan tags here become supermen from creches with such honorable leanings, it won't work in an online game. Perhaps if there was AI on the clan, but then you couldn't play them.

And then... it kinda petered out. Except for doing the same fights on the same maps with very little variation over time, there was no need to get anything more. My few mechs (or trials) can let me experience all the weapons systems, and all styles of play (except Lights, which I'm not very good at it seems).
I'd say PGI got stuck on the 'next pack of mechs will keep us operating another month' hump and never got off it.
If there was some sort of PvE, or some sort of mission-play, or a player market, or a player-content-generation system, or a pilot skill system that didn't lead solely to outrageously priced modules; basically ANYthing to add some complexity, depth, strategy to the game beyond 'memorize the map and maximize your alpha', I'd be looking at buying.
I suspect that the thing that drew many of us to BattleTech was the rich BT 'universe'. For me, MWO has a pretty good 'Mech combat simulator' and that's it. And that's not enough to pull my discretionary $$ away from other games.

But if we are going to lore then Clanners will be out numbered. So can you kill 2 or 3 IS to your 1 clan mech? So a battle will be 36 IS vs 12 clan or something like that.

That said, I feel like game modes are a real weakness of this title. I would really like to see some game modes that are more tactical/military feeling. Things like:
-Attack enemy dropship while protecting your own
-Escort a VIP from A to B
-Destroy a target at A, B, and C
Some of these modes would involve playing the game first on offense, then on defense, and then counting up time or score if both teams had the same amount of success at the objective.
I also have a need for a way to play the game with casual friends without them getting stomped repeatedly in group queue.

According to Russ' twitter we should expect info on new game modes at Mechcon. The cynical side of me thinks "Mechcon" will soon replace "90 days" as the sarcastic reference of choice for the forums.

I WANT to have fun playing MWO. I want desperately for Russ and crew to wake the hell up and give the Bittervets a REASON ot return. Sadly, the biggest reason I bought Alpha Lance was simply to grease the wheels for more Gundams for HBS's game.
But no, I don't wan't PGI and MWO to fail. I just want them to give us a legit reason to get excited, instead of trying to hype the next mech pack, and wonder why it doesn't even budge the needle.
To be fair, at this point, either seeing them succeed is the same thing as seeing them fail to me. Either they show that they are going to put effort and passion into the product (which is already questionable at best), or it'll die a slow zombie-mech laden death with more Lostech.
The definition of insanity is literally what we're facing here. What exactly should the result be for more mechpacks... happy days and bliss? I know our lovely paperdoll gets violated a lot, but is HTAL truly Lostech? I'm sure Russ will let you know @ Mechcon!

GH, Lack of Knockdowns/Collision/Melee, Lack of meaningful gameplay additions (IW where'd you go), inability to make balance changes that aren't sweeping ineffective trash (ED tests are the right direction but has it happened on live?), no new tech...
CW/FW is sadly a dead end but I can't see anything that would actually help that at this point.
Gameplay and gamemodes are the important things there.
