are you mechs keeping there quirks ??? i really think that no mech should

A bad mech will still be a bad mech without quirks.

A great mech will be subjected to the same tree, as the bad mech. Their gains will be the same, keeping the same overall level as they were before without quirks.

I never got PGI's stance that this tree will somehow mean the removal of quirks. Engine ones, sure with the decoupling of movement with engine size. But even those will still need quirks for certain chasis.

Wow, so I never comment. I've been playing for years, or something. I've had a crapton of mechs and only kept a few.

Because of the 3 mech rule I've purchased and mastered 36ish mechs x3 = a bigger number.

Now that we're clear on the math, my main question is how am i going to be compensated for the 60ish other mechs that I/we put our time into. I suppose if we sold the mech we dont get compensated for it. But, if so, why? I wouldn't have sold them had I known about this change. Or I wouldn't have purchased them in the first place because I don't have 100+ish mechbays.

So, what gives?

Are you going to stiff me on years of play time? Am I going to have to rage-quit, am I going to eventually come back but make a vow never to spend real money again? I'd like to know how thats going to get handled.

Thanks.

Well at least both skill trees make it more efficient to master one mech and buy 4 of them, Glad i decided to do that a while ago because as a casual I would never master enough mechs in this new system to run what i want each game.

I've just looked at the new skills trees. Yeah right, 70 mechs & no clear idea of what i'm doing. I've fired an email off to the feedback. Sorry I spent a lot of time & energy getting my mechs to where they are & now i'm supposed to understand a whole new system overnight?{yes over night because I should just be able to plug & play} .
I expect a lot of players, like myself will be over awed at the new system & quite possibly stop playing the game & paying for subscriptions. If I can't figure the system out in the cold light of day i'm going to delete the game. This crazy new system has totally spoilt the game for me in one single shot.

Where did you find the paid subscription in this game and how have you mastered chess overnight? Neo, is that you? Direct download of skills is a bit of a cheat.

If you like Chess how would you like someone to change the rules overnight? Direct downloads might be a bit if a cheat but that is where getting to know the game comes in? You can fine tune it yourself once you know what each skill node does? I worked on one type of mech I own last night for over two hours. 65 mechs to go.

Chess have rigid core rules and numerous optional ones that are used locally or by mutual agreement. Change in core rules will upset people, yes, but in Skill Tree we got change in optional rules - Mechs hadn't acquired flight capabilities or autoaim power-ups or instagib weaponry or hadn't become turn-based 3rd person Sims-clone. Really, you are not forced to skill a Mech to use it. I really go with unskilled Mechs right now, to understand how they play and feel, and will get to skilling them only after I'll get where we landed with all the changes. And I advise you do the same, I already botched one of my Mechs, so I'll look closer to the style and demands.

The new skill tree does not seem to be working as I can not use the same stuff as I used before they ****** it up. I wish I could return the last two packages I got. and I have lost all interest in playing and buying stuff.... is it just me?

PGI can still use new skill tree, all the while buffing under performers with additional quirks.

Why oh why do PGI White Knights keep thinking PGI is going to do the right thing??? Or in a timely manner?

I was once like you bro. Wake up and smell the B.S.

Calling me a white knight? Now that's a laugh. Apparently you do not hang around in the forums.

I've given this new system chance now. I find that I have to click certain skills to get to the ones I want/need & then I get a notice telling me I've bought skills I don't need! Is there some way of knowing the skills I don't need to buy?
The end result is my Mechs are slower than they used to be & can't shoot as far as they used to. I still don't actually know what i'm doing & over all i'm still not happy with the new skills system.
I got an email back from support saying they aren't changing back to the old system.
So it seems to me I've been conned into spending money I didn't need to do because to level up I no longer need 3 mechs. I have completed 90% of my Mechs levelling up under the old system.
My over all opinion is the new system is unnecessarily complicated. In fact the only thing I approve of is having double artillery strikes in one mech {& that's because I like blowing things up}.
I've made my mind up, I don't like the new system but what can we do. I can still play the game & have no intentions of quitting, I have waited over 30 years for this game & assumed it would only get better in terms of graphics & game play. This change has pulled the rug from under me.

The lack of adequate compensation for previous skills and progress is absolutely appalling, I have 97 mechs, and hundreds of dollars put into this game, almost every single one i spent countless hours grinding three variants of in order to master at LEAST my favorite of the chassis variants, yet now with the compensation received on XP for one of my best mechs, which was mastered, I can get barely a third of the available skill cap and have less than half of the bonuses my mech had previously, not to mention that despite being "refunded" the XP I still have to spend over 1 million c-bills just to convert a single mech's experience points into "SP". which is just yet another pointless conversion cost. While I like the idea of not having to buy three of the same type of mech in order to level one up the insane cost of gaining any of these "New" skills, which are basically just the old ones broken into smaller more expensive pieces, and now out of the many mastered and many more elited mechs that I had I will have to pick maybe 5? of the mechs that I own to actually put skills on and then I will be out of c-bills and probably forced to sell variants that I only used for leveling but still liked to have. What a great surprise for me to get when trying to come back to the game after a long hiatus because one of my friends is trying to get into the game....

Edit: Also having to go through dozens of mechs converting the "historical" xp into regular xp just so I can then pay to convert the xp into "sp" is a real waste of time and pain in my butt. And the more I spend skill points and look at some of my mechs the more I realize I pretty much just lost 80% of the skills and efficiency of every single one of my mechs, especially the ones with x2 basics which can get nowhere near that level of bonuses now, what a complete rip-off and joke.

Edit 2: Ok, I have to roll back some of my complaints, as I realize now you get "historical" skill points as well as general skill points, so I do not in fact have to convert experience on very much, or pay to convert xp, but that leads to another complaint, the fact that this whole system is very obscure at first and there is little to no explanation or guide or tips on how to use it at all, instead I launch the game for the first time in months and am greeted by a giant "refund ledger" popup saying hey, remember the 100 million c-bills you spent on modules? yeah those are all "sp" or "gsp" or whichever now and you get 2 million c-bills and some MC, go nuts kid. and then literally no explanation of even WHY this refund was received until you go digging looking for update notes.
