I wanted the mix it up, at least for solo queue. Group queue though would be a different beast to deal. Would PGI had even changed FP to 8 vs 8? Even if PGI had decided to go back to 8vs8 that would likely mean a lot of work on changing the parameters. But didn't PGI said they were going to run 8vs8 through the live servers first? It had sounded, to me anyhow, that they get it setup then flip a switch.

Who cares if it's 8v8 or 12v12 people, what's truly important is that Russ is still having eSports wet dreams all the time.

Paul's actually afraid of making them better because bad players.

That probably helps explain the reasoning as to why 12v12 stays, along with Clan ACs and other significant errors. I mean, we're talking a game where they're going to shut down FP for weeks because they're afraid it's limited player draw would be enough to doom Solaris.content.

If there's that much a worry about low player counts, shifting to 8v8 would actually be a blessing.

Gotta say, I'm guilty of not really responding, because I thought this was a done deal. The response I saw was generally positive, so I din't feel the need to chime in. Do we really need the equivalent of torches and pitchforks to get things through?

Also, development? There is and was 8v8 in the game already. Sounds like a copypasta job to me.

I can see why PGI wouldn't switch to 8v8 if it'll piss off over 1/3 of the player base.

I personaly want 8v8. Russ said it was coming. He didnt say it was coming if we pestered him enough. Very weird. PGI seems distracted with MW5 and MWO both taking their time.

Actually between conventional games and "f2p", the cash cow is the f2p games. Lots of investment to make a conventional game complete and you only get the sales. With the f2p... you can sucker the same people into paying small amounts again..a.nd again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...and again...(etc..) and all you need is a faint promise of "we might be bothered sometime."

So it'd make more sense to put it all into MWO and drop Mw5.

From a cash perspective.

the polls indicated 75% of the players wanted 8v8

and only 25% didnt want it

it was less than 1/3rd that didnt want it, and certainly not the 50/50 PGI is claiming


competitive play is 8v8 (and for a good reason, its superior to 12v12, even comp players hate 12v12)

if russ wants MWO to be an esport it makes sense for quickplay to be 8v8 too

to help groom new competitive players

Why not 8x8 for old maps and 12x12 for new maps?
