Lets say you to get most the upgrades for a given mech it requires playing 150 games (I'm terrible, so that seems about right). If I were to buy premium time it would still take me ~100 games to achieve that same goal. That's going to take me forever because I have a job and a child so I don't get to spend a lot of time playing. Also because I don't have much time to spend playing it really makes it seem like a terrible waste of money to buy premium time because I may not get to use it at all if I get busy and don't have time to play this game.
Premium time should be the 'bargain way' to get C-bills and XP if you're not a total cheapskate and just play for free to get XP. Premium time shouldn't be the only way to spend money to get upgrades. Those of us with more money than time should be able to buy our way onto equal footing with those who are playing dozens of games.. Their skill and experience would likely still rock us, but for the casual player (even with a credit card) there's just no way to get onto equal footing in this game.

- the possibility to change the color of my (large pulse) lasers....i could imagine pay 200-300mc (per mech variant) or 30-50mc (per laser) for switching the color from blue to green (and other colors of your liking)
- fancy camos/decals (but not as much as 750mc each and per mech variant - that's crazy!)
- an 30% c-bill boost upgrade for non-hero and non-founder variants (because maybe I prefer a specific variant, but still want that 30% boost...) could imagine a price between 2000-2500mc per mech variant
- fancy cockpit stuff
- and for my beloved Vulture/Mad Dog ... but that's another topic

Make people/teams pay some MC to enter (a small amount), then do random matches sequentially until completed. A small number of C-bills for each match (the normal) and a tonne of C-bills for winning (or placing high) in the tournament. Basically, just convert the amount of total MC paid into an equivalent number of c-bills paid to the winners (or just re-distribute the MC). And a tournament ribbon of course.
Of course this will need to be programmed as a game-mode, but might make a nice bridging action while we wait for community warfare. I'm sure a bunch of the RHoD players would be game for this sort of thing.

Here's my humble suggestions, as in the title.
The mechs in this game have kick *** designs and detail, I really hope to be physically able to posses figurines/models/action figures... etc of these mechs in the past and now.
Maybe the developers can consider engaging a toy manufacturer to produce such figurines/models/ action figures and sell them via mechwarrioronline?
and in each of these figurines, maybe an unlock code to redeem a varient of that mech online? (throw in a couple more freebies like 1 extra mech bay... etc)
I don;t know about the others.. but i will probably buy every figurine you produce... hhahhaha... Please do not make it a random pick thingy like the wiz-kids booster packs.
I'm posting from Singapore (South East Asia) and the only mechwarrior/battletech figurines i ever got my hands on was the wizkid board game mechwarrior: darkages...
didn't manage to get my favourite Timber Wolf thou...

startrant/ What I would hate to see, and what would be a deal-breaker in my mind is punishing the players that don't play premium by way of exclusive methods. Offering overpowered weaponry/mechs to premium members-only, for instance. That to me would be a moral pitfall, as it says to free-to-play members that unless they pay up, they will get creamed. Similar tactics are used by lunch-line bullies and Battlefield 3 with the addition of that damned crossbow. /endrant
