Weird how they can outrun you.... Thats okay if "you" think they are fine. But how will you answer all QQ that is soon to come concerning their new overpoweredness... Notice how this topic was STARTED BY a streakapult pilot?

Might be on to something there...

"STARTED BY a streakapult pilot" doesn't wash. OP drove the mech (if he drove it at all) so he could come to the forum and QQ about it.

They only dominate if you let them dominate. Kind of funny how many players ignore Streakcats thinking kitty cats ain't worth their attention. But thats like a number of Mechs, ignore a guasscat, and he will chew you up as well, I've run into some HBKs and Dragons that if you ignore them, they will rip you a new 1. So maybe its all you whiners are a bunch of nubs that can't shoot your way out of a wet paper bag. Just a thought.

+1 :)
It's just before 2 patches streaks were hitting center torso an Atlases were killed rather quickly. Every nebie used it just to get hi k/d ratio. After the patch 6 november when streaks were missing the target 50%, sometimes full A1 alfa was lost in the sky, streak A1 Cata was like a ghost, only true fans used it, not looking at the cost of ammo, when winning a battle you go minus.
Now streaks are smthng like between the 2 last patches better then 6nov. but worther then before and people start whining again

TEAMS ARE OP!!! NERF THEM !! NERF THEM ALL !!! :)

 .... ^_^

I'm now seeing lances of 4 streak A1 catapults. Extremely balanced.

Yeah, but SSRM2s ought to be compared to SRM2s, not SRM6s.
6s weigh more, produce more heat, and use more ammo.

While I agree fully that apples should be compared to apples, the reality is that a brawling cat is a brawling cat. The damage put out by 6 SSRM2s is significantly less than could be fit on the same mech in the same role. There is balance in the fact that fitting streaks trades damage for usability.

We made a small bet among ourselfs in my Regiment about how soon there would be someone whinning about streaks were OP after the patch. I won. Nerfers will be the new name for PUG's from now on. You want streaks to get a challenge=8 Man group. Solved. My regiment lights them up like New York city in december: They offer minimal threat assessement for an organized team, or you want to nerf that one too? Oh snap, nerfers already did that!

Boring as hell to use, but hilarious to watch someone on your side firing them due to how ridiculous they are.

Streakcat + any decent backup at all = GG

Not really sure how mass autoaim is ever a good thing, but hey.

You labeled the third choice a JOKE option. The vast majority chose it. So I guess the joke's on you. There's nothing wrong with streaks. At least nothing a little skill and teamwork won't fix.

Streaks require no skill. It's not difficult to maintain a lock at all, all you have to do is hold down your little button and maintain lock until your ammo runs dry or your enemies are smoking heaps. I can circle with other light's all day, don't even have to keep the crosshairs on them the whole time, just don't break lock for more than half a sec, just keep it over their general area and don't forget to hold down that button and that's streaking for ya. I watch as these missiles make complete 180 turns coming out of passing mechs to fly up over their heads and back at their targets as the run head on jousting each other. They were more than adequate before the patch, now, they are down right ugly. I really hope this game get's balanced at some point. Right now it's just on to the next weapon system to abuse the hell out of until it's nerfed, then on to the next.

if you think Cata A1 is no skill, then use it and try to be alive in first 3 min. of the battle, try to brawl in close combat a bunch of hunchies alfastriking your ears in 1-2 shots, and try at the end of the battle even won one to get some profit, becourse prices of the streak ammo are highier then sky.
In 4 hours play winning 70% battles I've got only 600k - the same value I get for 6-7 battles in a trial mech.

AMEN!!! All you whiny little pugs need to shut your yap. I've had great games in my streak cat and bad ones. If they were OP then I would dominate the battlefield. I don't. One of the games I was in, I scored 1208 damage. I was the last one on my team with three enemies left. I killed two, but a sudden attack of pity kept me from killing the last one. Pity I didn't have more ammo. There's nothing wrong with streaks.

I was there when he did it. He ended up leading that raven on a merry chase around the map for a good five minutes after his ammo ran out.

Had the rest of us cheering him on from beyond the grave. It was glorious.

/me cheers again

Streak SRM '2's, Should not be netting you 1208 damage. They will be nerfed eventually, watch this space.

streaks have already been nerf'd to hell: they miss 50% of the time, if they do hit they spread to any random component, and they do significantly less damage than before

I just don't like weapons that lock on and take no skill. They should be inherently worse than any weapon that requires skill.

Streak Missiles are GUIDED short range Missiles!!! Other than making the missiles hit "random" Mech locations. WHY should a GUIDED missile be Nerfed? What is it that when a weapon is working as designed, someone wants them ruined? WE have Missiles that can be guided through windows at 4 miles away and you want to ruin ones IN A GAME that have to be within 270 M?

Because you didn't take the time to kill the carrier before it killed you???! I've been killed by a Streak boat exactly twice. My team identifies them ASAP and destroys them ASAP. Are you the players that wants to Nerf the Tarresque in D&D because its OP? Grow a pair, Die with dignity, and come back smarter on your next drop!

No they hit 100% of the time, read the patch notes, and no, they do not do less damage then before, if they did then you wouldn't have loads of streak cats.

If the streak boat is overpowered, (which it probably is), it isn't by a lot. I find my shiny new 'phract kills streak cats ok, and I don't even know how to pilot a Heavy that well. (Switched from a Raven.) Streaks just aren't dominating the battlefield like some people are saying. A Gauss wielder is still a lot more dangerous, at a much greater range. I'd much rather deal with 30 points of homing damage at short range, than 30 points of precision damage from too far for me to even see them. More powerful would be a Cat with 3 streak launchers, and three 6 launchers. 60 alpha, with the option of continual fire when you don't have a great shot.
