I hope to never see Gold Ammo; it seriously screwed up the possibilities of competitive play in World of Tanks without spending real cash for instance.

Again what should Gold Ammo bee in MWO? Thunder LRMs? Seeker? Armor Piercing? Precision Rounds?
Not any ammunition type is really better as normal ammunition

Canon-speaking, there couldn't be any gold ammo like WoT has (no disadvantages to the added benefits) but for a developer offering something like gold ammo can be very tempting to increase their revenue. The combination of canon- and cash- reasons is basically why I don't want to see them (which is what this thread is about, not if it exists in the canon).

Me? The one thing I would love to not see we are stuck with... The Clans... I am loving the idea of this game.. But if it had started in say 2950 instead of 3049 I would be a very happy man.. No people just playing to learn the game while they wait to jump ship and join a invasion clan.

Some of us have been waiting for the return of the Clans.

Ah because online victories against casual gamers are so important. Really I hope they put all that in for the people that want it. And then run it only on Solaris 7. The majority of the game should focus on the casual player. Not the 5 percent of the gamers who make up the super competitive, win at all costs, who cares if it simulates what its supposed to as long as my kill count is higher than yours, crowd.

Nice to see such a point of view, like you have no colours becides white and black. Grinders and nerds are not the base of how the game should begave itself, battlestats, doesnt matter, too casual means too simple, having no need of brainwork at all, mechwarrior 3 and mechwarrior 4 to compare for example. You dont need to play 24|7 to be good, just a bit skill and experience.

It would be some version of every type of ammo/weapon that does signifigantly more damage than normal.

Every mech can have jump jets, Wonder if they are equipped in slots or if theyre magical JJs? Cause JJs you cant damage would be bad as well -.-

Every 'mech CANNOT have JJ's. You're only allowed to put JJ's on (or take them off of) a 'mech variant that has them equipped by default.

a.) whats legging

Legging is shooting your opponent's leg until it is destroyed, severly crippling his movement. Legged 'mechs are typically sitting ducks unless they have JJ's.

I had heard earlier in this thread that every mech COULD have them thats why I said that. If the devs have said otherwise, my bad.
Again... this "legging" sounds like a good tactical move. Man, it sounds like what ppl HATE more than anything, is being tactically smart. If its a fast mech... go for the legs to cripple it. Thats not cheap, thats smart

How do you keep ppl from, doing that... invulnerable legs?
You add randomness to the attack 'roll' - in the form of dispersion, deflection, or your green beam simply not going in the intended direction - to mimic the tabletop game. Other than that there's no real way.

Plenty of people have already mentioned Gold Ammo, so I'll skip that. What do I not want to see? Real-World Advertising. I know it's an important revenue stream, but having pop-ups in Mech-Lab trying to sell me financial services for example will honk me right off.

I do not want to see an player avatar ground component like the ground battles in STO.

They (STO) did the ship battles fine enough and the avatar combat is lackluster and unimaginative.

Please, keep to Mechs only!

I don't want to see the ability to group fire a batch of weapons and have them all hit the same location of the mech. This was obviously such a problem with MW4 that they hard coded it so one salvo couldn't destroy a section of a mech, but it just made it take two salvos. MPBT3025 handled this better with grouped weapons spreading damage to adjacent sections. From a design standpoint, this rewards skilled players who can keep the target reticle steady on their target long enough to chain-fire a group of weapons over ones who can just wait and tap the fire button in the instant it's in the right place.

That would be a HUGE turn off for me. If I fire at something, unless theres something between me and the target, my gauss round should hit. Not "oh crap it deflected right off the cockpit glass" crap that happens on a solid hit in WoT.

Yeah that is one of my complaints with WoT, you fire at a flat side straight on and it ricochets. That being said, unless you are standing still there should be some varience on where you aim and where your round hits, especially with projectile weapons.

I guess that they don't like that a laser boat being able to flush heat in an instance.
