I can promise you won't see me. I can't pilot one of those damn things for the life of me.

that light mechs combined with multiple LRM catapaults dont become a bread and butter team build. That would be very annoying and lame.

This right here is what I'm worried about. Sure post 3050 I expect to see ER lasers, Pulse lasers, and Gauss all over the place but pre-3050 I don't want to see that stuff yet. Get everyone used to the "normal" stuff and then give us the fun toys. I don't want that stuff showing up too early. ;)

It exists, which is why if it were up to me (and it most certainly is not), I'd have that tech be available, but hard number limited, and very expensive.

I don't ever want to see Japanese tentacle **** in MechWarrior Online.

That counts, right?

Suicide scouting, another WoT thing that ticks me off because its so braindead but works there.

Ahhh, WoT suiscouting.... I need to grow a third arm so I can facepalm without stalling up my tank when that happens. I don't think that will happen here, on account of the durability of the 'mechs. You suiscout in WoT, and on the RARE occasion it's done properly - you're benefiting from the presence of artillery that can 1-or-2-shot most tanks, making for a big payoff. More often than not, though - the SS' s waste a perfectly good spotter early on with little to show for it.

From the looks of MWO, the higher level of mobility (seriously, jumpjets), beefier healthpools, the ability of all weight classes to damage one another, and a percieved emphasis on running skirmishes within the context of a longer battle - not a great environment for suicide scouting.

Perhaps instead we'll see people loading up on firepower, followed by engines, and trying to alpha as many 'mechs as possible? Perhaps a whole new school of frustration, when you realize your lancemate is sporting a ridiculous build that means they've given up all hope on actually winning the match, and are instead just grinding for a high damage ratio before they crumple?

I dont want to see unbalanced weapons on mechs.

Agreed. Unbalanced weapons make you tip over and fall in the mud and then all the other players laugh at your clumsiness and kick you until you cry.

Oh wait that was my childhood.

Never mind ;)

The reason players are asking for jump-sniping not to be a viable tactic in the game is because the players want what PGI wants: for role warfare to matter. Your Raven scout isn't gonna matter for **** if he gets cored within seconds by a guy not even he can touch.

It comes down to how you play the game not what mech or weapons you use. It's really not a difficult task to kill a sniper or jump sniper with a light or medium in MW4 if you know some very basic tactics. I could easily do this along with many other decent players.

Just wondering, are you not allowed to use cover in MW? Do you always have to be in the open where you can be shot? If not, I can't see how you can complain about jump sniping, you're just popping out to fire then going back behind cover. Isn't that a valid tactic or is it against the rules?

The Urbanmech..... lol Just kidding. I would hate to see whole lances of the same Mech or whole Companies with on 2 Chassis. In the Inner Sphere every lance was mixed you only saw some House units or the really big Merc Units have whole lances of a certain chassis. Even then it was rare. So I hope that the Chassis are Different enough that people will mix and mash up the Lances. ( as in A Catapult and Dragon Centurion for LRM support with say a K2 or Cataphract as the body guard for the lance )

The point Bush made, you're an awful player that want's the game changed so you don't get repeatedly owned (not you in particular, guys that complain about sniping, pop sniping etc).

The point I made was about something that was OP to start with - and got the nerf bat. Just like the guys in early "Eve-Online" who put five Micro-Warp drives on Battleships... "you could do it, it wasn't illegal..." Or the Nano-Nerf... or a bunch of other things...

Maybe it is wishful thinking, but I really do not want to see griefers. Too many games these days are loaded with them and it takes away from the experience.

What I would love to see in MWO is artillery avialablity based on loadout of companies. The bigger or higher BV the company the less availablity for artillery strikes or strafing runs. Think Cresent Hawks Revenge when Clanners were wave upon wave coming into the mountain passes and strafe after strafe of aerospace was the only thing that would stop it. The scout or well placed heavy would have to get sensor data and communication to commander for calling in strikes.

This one feature would balance out Boating or Assault Only forces.

If the equipment takes hard points I think that will be very annoying!
EX)TAG- 1 energy hardpoint
Narc- 1 missle Hardpoint
Artimus 5- 1 missle hardpoint
Mechs already have a limited amount no need to make it more limited.

The irony is that theres very little reason to have mixed lances. Its much better to standardise equipment as much as possible. Its a complete logistic nightmare to maintain parts for dozens of different mech chassis, not to mention the many variants for each chassis.

For example instead of having mixed lances of archers, crusaders, and god knows how many LRM heavies...you could just standardise on the archer.
