You can almost make a Marauder with the Flame - mine's running 2xERPPC, 2xML, SSRM/SRM with choice of engine. You miss out of the AC5 but the SRM makes up for it.

The Flame has the drooping arms too. Think of it as a fat Marauder.

I can build you a Warhammer on a Hunchy chassis, if you're interested cause we ALL know that Warhammer >>> Marauder

That's why I'm hanging out for the Orion. PGI's vision of the Orion can pass of as a Warhammer if I squint.

Raso, I appreciate your post and your questions. Different symbols offend different people. There have been symbols before in MWO and there will be more symbols in the future. While these Symbols on the Firebrand (mark of the beast, ******* goat head, hand sign of the devil) offend me other symbols may offend others like the swastika, star of david, cross, fish, Darwin fish, etc. These symbols each stand for something as the symbols on the Firebrand do.

PGI has decided with this mech to use known religious symbols for evil to portray a mech in this light. I believe the artists could have portrayed a vile evil machine in other ways then using religious symbolism as we see here. While I agree with you Raso that PGI can use this imagery I don’t feel that they needed to and am saddened to see them stoop to using this to portray their intent.

When you ask me about the violence in the game itself, it comes down to how you let it affect you. If the virtual act of war and battle are real to someone then yes it is offensive, and in that case they can leave the game alone and many do. For me it is a just a game (like chess, go, risk, etc…) where I enjoy the strategy, competition and the teamwork aspects of playing with friends and brothers.

A religious symbol dropped in the game like this however poses a different issue. These are polarizing images in the world outside the game itself, and call in faiths, beliefs, and religion into the game whether that was their intent or not. I would rather they had left them out, and maybe they will change their minds. If not then that is their decision, and I will continue on with what I enjoy in this game beyond this disappointment.

(he may have won a few battles, but there is a war on whether we believe it or not and it is up to each man/woman to make the decision for himself/herself as to what side they end up on)

I know of several Pagans and Satanist who are good people who would be very offended by your assertion that the symbolism used is evil. I also know of several Jewish folk who would love to teach you of the origins of the long nosed, goat headed interpretation of the devil and why it's offensive to them. Likewise I know of several Buddhists who can never show their holy symbol because some *** hat in Germany rotated it 45 degree and used it as the symbol of their nation.

Remember to put it all into perspective. You're perspective is valid but in no way, shape or form absolute. To you this is not nearly as trivial as many see it, though, and that is something which others respect. But no one is forcing you to stay here or worship the devil.

No I'm not afraid of the Devil, he has lost. What I am saddened by is use of offensive symbolism such as this. It is one thing to have bad guys in a game that are great antagonists to the story and which make gaming/stories enjoyable. It is another thing entirely to put blatant offensive symbolism within a game where it cannot be ignored or removed (Change paint schemes on hero's). To me it is like a middle finger to those it offends.

it offends me to not have such symbolism in the game because you feel the need to force your beleif system upon myself and others by wanting it removed from the game. How about relax its not actually offensive, its just a picture in a virtual world. If thats such an issue i suggest you stick to hello kitty an hardcore christian games and keep your beleifs out of my game.

Dude, don't be knocking the Christian games! Did you ever play that strange RPG where you can play as Jesus? It is, no joking, one of the most fun games to play (for an afternoon or two before it gets old). It's called The You Testament. It's like playing Naughty Bear but you're Jesus!

very nice looking. my only complaint is that now we have heros for every heavy and assault. while mediums and lights get neglected yet again. Another money grab by PGI, with no regard for game balance.
Mediums and lights can go in a corner, choke, and die.

Where are the missiles? And the light?!

Come on, StarCraft 2: HOTS had those, and so did Marvel's comics...

Hm, this would make a good third Jager to many who were split between caring whether to buy a third regular Jager just to master them considering the c-bill bonus.

I only have two myself....so probably going to do that. lol

irrelevant religious stupidity

*sigh*

You want to give it a rest already?

I mean seriously, you're bringing some hardcore "look at me! look at my beliefs and lets skew the thread in my direction!" [REDACTED]. It has no place in here, and by your own admission you don't actually have a legitimate point.

Do you think war in the actual Battletech universe is full of friendly people, with fluffy bunnies and always good triumphing over evil? It's a war, people will put obscene things on their mechs to instill fear and they'll step on anyone in their way, so don't be bringing your Sunday school nonsense on here any longer expecting us to care deeply about your convictions in this scenario.

I am sure he is aware of this :)

The Question is : Why to put in ******* Symbols ? Because People today like it - it is the "Zeitgeist" and PGI brought it in because many People today think in that Direction, so let him have his Opinion on those Things. The "Zeitgeist" was never a good Thing as I remember.

It's fiction fellas. Make believe, fantasy.

You take it however seriously you want to but for me, I don't care if it's got whatever symbol on it. It's not who I am, just like those actors that portray every bad person in every movie. If you're offended by it the problem's with you, not with me.

Besides IMO everything's too sanitized. In some instances to the detriment of history. Take for example the exclusion of the hakenkreuz from planes in a flight sim I play, Cliffs of Dover. I'm no ****, not even German but it's just plain historically inaccurate especially in a genre that prides itself with authenticity.

This mech is pure Metal. The paint job looks like some metal heads vehicles I've seen. And within that particular community, we've been over all of this '******* imagery' hullabaloo before.

My recommendation is to chill out, listen to some metal, throw the horns (fist of metal - if you're trying to be PC, i guess) and enjoy yourself.

I for one, look forward to putting some Iron Maiden on in the background and stomping the life out of pantywaists who can't appreciate flair.

A bit strange to see the 666 on there. Seems like the scheme would be fine without it, and it only serves to stir up arguments having it there. Is it possible then that we will get a hero mech with a crucifix or a Star of David? Perhaps a swastika? All of those are symbols that produce strong feelings but do not need to be in a game.

Do wish they did a hero medium, I mean many people would say that there are more hero mediums then lights... but cicada's are just fat alberts (sorry, no good quality video links from the movie where he races).

I never let something as mundane as line of sight get in the way of the application of dakka. As long as ye olde target reticule lights up, the finger must stay on the trigger!

I'm sure they'll add a hero mech for you one day, perhaps it will have puppies and rainbows painted on it.

No, make it look like Knight Templar. White surcoat with red cross, bare steel head to resemble great helm, chain mail pattern on limbs. Perhaps Victor is suited best for this.

I also want to note that devil has an excuse of appearance on this Jagermech, because probably "Devil" is the nickname of this Jag's pilot from fluff (he was far from lawful good person and was obsessed with watching fires burning).
