Who knows guys, maybe PGI's going to lower the prices later on in the sale, it just started, we don't have to throw money towards it right away.

If they see a decrease in interest, they might decide to drop down the prices a little hopefully

My biggest problem here isn't the price or format (though those $500 mechs are a bit absurd). Its the missed opportunity. PGI had a chance to really introduce the Clans in a slick way and instead it feels like they were released rather unceremoniously. Sure I was anxious for their release much like the rest of us, but instead of a surprise invasion and release that paralleled their arrival in the books we got this. I know high expectations can lead to disappointment, but the hype machine was of PGI's own making IMO. Instead of whispers followed by a bang, I feel like we got a pop followed by a whimper.

It's sunday night... Normal people don't work weekends, and PGI doesn't take extra time to deal with yahoos like you who have seizures when just about anything at all happens.

I'm waiting for the Cbill Timberwolves.

Also note that the Warhawk, a VERY smoke jaguar mech, has a wolf emblem on it.

I dunno man...

OK so let's try to balance out all the whiners here. So first off there shouldn't be a single person here who isn't surprised at the way they have announced this package, it's similar to the founder's package and exactly the same as the Project Phoenix package. Sure I'm disappointed that you can't just buy the mech you want but the same thing happened with Phoenix so again no surprise.

Phoenix was announced with bonus early bird deals
one mech at a time teaser
hardpoint configurations and stock loadout details
plans for normal and unique geometry already planed.

CLANS HAS NONE OF THAT! we don't know what a warhorn is we don't know how 8fourm this and title that is to be implemented, IGP have forced a fast one and PGI is forcing what ever they can out of thin air! it's so damn obvious to be a rushed cash grab!

NOT LIKE PHOENIX AT ALL

View PostCorralis, on 14 December 2013 - 11:42 PM, said:

Now ask yourself this question, Is it expensive? If your answer is no then you have issues. It is expensive and you know what? It fu*king well should be! These are CLAN mech's for Christ's sake, it's what people have been crying for for the last two years. Now ask yourself this other question, Is it value for money? If your answer here is no then my friend you also have issues. $240 for 24 Clan Mech's including 8 'hero' variants and 90 days premium time plus all the other goodies is a hell of a bargain.

Now the next point I want to raise about all you people whining about the fact they announced this before the release of UI 2.0 and CW. It's not gonna be in the game for another 6 months. Bryan has already said that UI 2.0 and CW will be in the game within that time (maybe not the full and final version but some of it). I for one am glad they have announced this so early as it gives me time to save up and buy the big package. I would have been more p*ssed off if they had announced the package in May and told me I had 30 days to buy the package or it would be finished for good and I think I wouldn't be the only one.

Now onto my final point, the $500 Khan Mech's. Well all I can say here is each to their own, if you have the disposable income to want and afford a shiny gold Mech then fair play to you cause at least some of that money will go back into the game and make my experience better. And to all you di*kheads saying that you would TK a player with a gold Mech I will say this, you better get yourself checked out for some kind of new disease that makes people stupid cause you have it, I just hope it isn't contagious.

there's no cause to say whether it is or isn't expensive, but it's obvious they're pulling at heartstrings to open wallets placing warhawks over diashi's and timberwolfs toward the top and the only option to get which exact mech you want seperately is not a boars head price but 10X that amount. fools and their money...

and what of the premium day stuffs i've got that amount over from the grab deal that's still yet to see it's reinforcement pack and ingame badges delivered. essentially what's the use of this gear if we're still pew pewing in the same areana that's been around for nearly 2 years now. forumular 1 cars our nice but when you're stuck with your driveway and a few gocart tracks the investment feels pointless and that's the real problem with this deal popping up at this time.

prices are immaterial deppending on the quality of product they're being sided with. this product MWO has little quality so big boy prices is a complete missmatch. everyone has leveled up their PP stuff or have played withem enough that the new mech novelty is over. this grab deal can make or break this game and it all depends on delivering the features the devs have always intended to add and how clan functionality will happen. because if any of it is missing or so constricted that it kills the fun then the game will die the nine lives are running out.

Somewhat unrelated:

The other mechs I can easily pin the Clan they are painted for, but the Kit Fox....

I figured Goliath Scorpion, but it looks like it is just the sun and a tail, not the entire scorpion. Certainly not Ice Hellion, Fire Mandrill, Cloud Cobra, Coyote, Steel Viper, or Hell Horses. Possibly Star Adder? Anyone have a positive identification on that Kit Fox's home clan?

It is Steel Viper Beta galaxy. Check camo specs and you will see their insignia. The mechs shown represent all of the invading clans.

I have never in my entire life seen such an out of control cash grab. Not ******* once. 30$ per variant ?!?! 240$ for the entire set ?!?!?! Not in this lifetime ! Not to mention the ******** that is the 500$ {Scrap}. I can't wait to see these mechs in game. I'm going to be laughing at everyone who wastes there money on this {Scrap}.

There is no content in any game worth this kind of money. Way to price gouge your customers PGI. There will always be idiots who pay this kind of money for garbage.

Good read and straight to the point of reality of which PGI is no where near.

I did a double take when I saw the $500 Clan 'mechs. HAH!

If this game was of high quality, and I was playing it a lot, I could see myself dropping $120 or more on it. I was tempted buy the Overlord package, which I thought was a reasonable deal... but MWO has scarcely progressed from its state a year ago. Oh, we have new maps and 'mechs, but that's only progress since we barely had any to start with.

I won't be buying the Clan package - even though I told myself I'd hold off on the Overlord package so I can buy the Clan package later - because I have a couple Founder's/Hero 'mechs, and I've learned that invariably there's going to be a variant or 'mech that's simply better or more fun than your C-bill bonus 'mech, so you might as well have fun piloting that and save your MC / cash.

Oh, and you want $210 so I can have a premium Timber Wolf and two variants? I'm not going to pay $210 when I'm only interested in 3 out of the 7 variants. If you let me pay $90 and let me pick 3 chassis of my choice, then I'd pony up the cash, but you're too greedy PGI.

I'm also on hiatus from playing the game because I've found that buying new 'mechs - and then grinding the worthless variants - to be a complete pain in the butt. Oh, I could pay MC (and I've got half my MC to burn from my Founder's package still), but MWO isn't worth playing.

Go buy any number of quality games for $10 - $30. They're higher quality than MWO, and cheaper.

Just ain't worth it. They are going to be nerfed to the point that in the current small scale, close up encouter, shoot fast maps. They are just going to be slow firing, overheating death traps.

I do not know why they are so blatantly capitalist in this money grabbing. When they balance a game in such a socialist way.

After all they say perfection is 50/50 win/loss no matter what you pay. What you play. Or how good you are at it.

I think that is the real reason we have no community warfare. The would have to unbalance what is quickly becoming socialist robots. And NOT mechwarrior.

I love the models and I want a Timberwolf SO BAD... but I'll be damned if Ill pay $210 for it.
I'm a Legendary Founder, and Overlord, but I'm done throwing good money after bad and the monetization for this game is awful.

Yeah, I can no longer support this game.

Gentlemen, everyone always said this is what they wanted, Clan Mechs and Clans. Now they are coming, and we have a DATE. Yep, they want money, but it's the game you always wanted, so yes, I ponied up and dropped the Big One.

I still hope for the best from what has been, for me, a good game surrounded by being able to meet a GREAT bunch of players (Head Hunters of Davion...) so for ME it's worth the ongoing expenditure.

See you folks out there!

Are you saying the money I currently have dumped in to this game is not enough? It's more money than I've ever spend in any other game. I think I can buy 30+ games on Steam with the money I dumped in this game.

Hmm so you have no founder's tag and you have no Project Phoenix tag so I'm assuming that you have interest in supporting PGI by giving them your hard earned cash and therefore you must be one of these people who expect the entire game for free. Well go play Hawken then, I'm sure you'll have more fun there anyway.

To be fair I myself am more then a little disappointed with the progress PGI has made.

Will I buy one of these packages? Yes, I already have in fact. Am I a ****** for doing it? Probably so.

It's not the monetary value of these packages that annoys me at the end of the day (short of the $500 job they've pulled there, I'd much rather a package of unqiue Clan paint and cockpit items to put on my stuff then that gold bullseye) but the apparant lack of dedication PGI have to the brand. Look at the Clan Invasion trailer. Not a single clan chassis in sight. Really makes me want to go out and tell my mates about this product. "Look out guys! The Clans are coming in their invisible Mechs!"

I realise that there is a big gap between now and June but I fear the game won't have progressed at all between now and then. All the missing features and fixes, the list is becomming quite extensive. ALTHOUGH! Marketing wise -- This is a smart move. It gives hope to those who have been awaiting the Clans.. All 6 months of it...

I'd also really love to see a hell of a lot more IS chassis pushed through, at least double what we have in-game now before the Omni's are released so the guys who want to stick to IS will have more variety. Realistically tossing out the Clans like this is fine for people (alike myself) who want to play as the Clans, but we're likely the minority or at best, half of everyone. The IS needs more love too.

Then again... PGI aren't very good at keeping to their specified dates...

Someone must have run out of money for fueling their meth habits and hiring young Thai boys because $500 has gone beyond absurd and is well into Time to Check Into Rehab territory.

I think we need to keep a couple of things in mind.

These purchases are NOT compulsory.

You will be able to get all of these Mechs for C-Bills EVENTUALLY. Just because something is for sale doesn't mean you have to buy it or rage-quit if you can't. Start grinding for C-Bills or just wait till the Clan Mech of your choice comes out and buy it with MC.

As for the Gold Mechs, they are for WANKERS that would spend $500 to have a Gold Mech. You know the type :excl:
I can't/won't spend $500 for a Gold Mech but this doesn't make me angry that there are Gold Mechs for $500 for anyone who can/will. Hell, it will make them easy to spot in the field ;)

A lot of whiny babies here. Can no one else see the value of this sale? $10 per 'mech for the top-tier.
The sale will be up for a while (content delivered in June), I will put aside ~$50-60 a month and buy it down it the track.

I apologize in advance, but I have to say this.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO PRE-ORDER TO GET THESE MECHS. YOU CAN BUY THEM INDIVIDUALLY FOR C-BILLS WHEN THEY ARE RELEASED.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY $210 FOR A TIMBER WOLF.
