That's basically what it amounts to.
Its like I already said. The meta has shifted to a faster-paced game with higher mobility and little face time. You really should be adjusting accordingly.
You want to play a slow-arse mech and expect your teammates to cover you, you're essentially dictating other people's gameplay no matter how you want to hash it.

CW is an enigma, they are hated so much by drop comanders, and the Clan XL and large amounts of ECM they have make them far less effective than Clan Lurms, but you just have to look at the number of even organised CW groups that are taking AMS in their builds on IS teams to realise that LRM's can be effective again if used Correctly.
Given time people will show you what they fear the most.

not even close, funny how you're the ONLY one who seems to think that...
I'm also still waiting for this explanation of how exactly you make an Atlas "fast" since it's top speed with largest enging is about 62/kph

And just how many people are agreeing with you too?
Fact of the matter is that if I have to stick around you, it also cramps my playstyle. Now if you're in a brawling Atlas or at least something of a hybrid, it means we both still get to see some action so I have some incentive to watch your back. I am a firm believer in following an assault into a charge.
If you're a slow-*** Atlas armed only with LRMs and hanging in the back, why should I stick around? It lowers my score as I deal less damage due to less contact with the enemy. Getting tags for you means putting my own mech at risk. All just so you can get a higher score and do more damage while I end up performing worse because I have to adjust my playstyle to suit yours? No thanks.
Now, I'm not saying its wrong to drive a slow Atlas but you'd better have a good reason for driving one to make me stick around. I see you hanging in the back and going "whoosh whoosh whoosh", you can bet your slow metal *** I'm going to leave you behind.

You're just saying you can drive a "slow" Atlas as long as YOU think it's a "good" build
lol
EDIT:
Look, the bottom line is you did a douchey thing to someone, got called out on it, and noticed that you're kinda on your own with this one.
Let's call it what it was which was a very sh*tty thing to do to another player and not make it a habit

Nope. You can drive whatever you like. Just don't expect others to adjust to your choice of ride. You picked your mech, you deal with its consequences if its a little too 1-dimensional. That's all I've been saying.

Gladiatorial fight in game pitting the people arguing against each other while everyone else watches? Perfect.

Agreed, like I said earlier, the only reason lurms never "meta" is because they don't fit into that min/max formula and those top players who think they're "useless" are often the first ones to break lines and turn to run after getting hit with a couple of LRM10s

The only person here who is on your side is that other LRM boat atlas guy.
So you're saying your teammates are not being douchey only if they always cover your back and hold locks for you? You do realize its a PUG right?
I just find it amusing that you can bring a subpar mech to the game but than go around complaining about other player's subpar gameplay. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
Its a PUG. Its about having fun. Just enjoy the chaos of it. I fully admit that abandoning that guy means leaving him out of the fun, but not leaving him might result in a loss which is also not fun for the rest of the team.
A win is a win. It happens. Too bad for the guys who had to die for it, but I don't whine about it when it happens to me. Personally, I'm happy if the team can win from my sacrifice. If you want to whine about it when it happens to you, be my guest.

Guess I'm just too used to forums for smaller communities, where if you make an enemy, it's likely you'll be running into him constantly on the forums AND ingame, so people are more polite or do settle it ingame instead of having mostly useless monologues.

You can't get much smaller than this lol
Trust me, it's pretty tame around here for the most part. I have no "enemies", I have people on my block and ignore list and I could honestly truly care no less than I do now about "running into them in game" lol
So they can....l shoot me? TK me? etc.? Then I just block and report them.
Other than that, I shoot them just as often as they shoot me so I ain't too skeered bout that one
